I found with the square drain plugs. The ratchet head itself. Usually fits. Sods law Sharon's car needs a specific size. That's what I've found anyway. Never hurts to have the right tools for the job

You can get LED replacement tubes for your existing housings Martin.

Hey, you could always re-orient and lower the batten holders so that they point upwards instead of down, that would move the globe more towards the roof and so out of site

You can get led conversion lamps for the normal 5ft fluorescent fittings they come in different wattages from 30watts up to sort of 50 watts. The you can get different colour temperature warm white is about 2700k to 3000, the up to sort of 4000k for white light they are plastic tubes with a built in diffuser for the led strip. They come with a special starter switch that is actually just a 500ma fuse .

Cmon Martin your supposed to be an ex sparky like myself, just change the lamp holder for a straight one not angled or just remount the angled ones you got to a side projection lol. Your right though it does look lots brighter and no flickr.

Try using LED stripe lights, they work better Martin.

  • @Equinoxious342

Surely LED strip lights would have been a lot better for workshop lighting? Use of individual bulbs seems quite bizarre.

wouldn't it have been better and easier to just replace the tubes? the led replacement tubes are much better and would probably give out a better light than the ones you are changing to.
