    Excellent video, many thanks! One very useful part (compared to all the other RUclips reviews i've seen) is that you hardwired the siren in from an existing box. This is exactly what I'm about to attempt! Thanks.

    I wish Ring offered a full package install. I just bought this insane $500 kit and realize that they charge to install each individual item. Between the cameras alone, it's another $400 charge. I figure the product is designed to be DIY - which is disappointing. I keep reading everywhere "it's easy" but for the life of me, it's not. I admit, I'm not handy at all. Couldn't operate a screwdriver for my life. I'm looking at other home security systems, and they all offer installation of the complete package, either free, or just one flat rate. They're monthly service is a bit more pricey, and I guess that's the trade off. I came to this video thinking it'd be helpful, but all it really did was reassure me that, no, this is not something I'm capable of. I'm gonna be close to $1500 after paying the installation Ring offers, which will take little over 2 years to recoup compared to my last service. This stinks.

      If I was building the house again Chris, I'd definitely make sure there was outside power at camera height for wired cameras. The battery ones are ok, but I've seen the difference and it pretty impressive.

Along with the alarm and doorbell, 4 cameras as well. I've spoken to delivery men from 7k miles away. Love this system and it's expandable as and when you want 👍🏻😁

    How do you charge / replace the battery on the PIR when its stuck to the wall? Presumably the door sensors have batteries also so how do you also charge those?

    • @CloughReviews

      The back part, with the adhesive strips on it, is a separate panel. you just hold the front and slide it downwards and it comes off so you can replace the batteries init. Easy.

    Hiya, excellent guide. I am looking to get a alarm system for my new home. Question, of course the siren is very loud and I don't want to annoy the neighbours. Can you customise the siren noise level. Also, how long does it take to turn it off, if it does go off. Lastly, we are planning to go on holiday abroad. If the alarm went off, do you get a notification on your phone, are you able to turn of the siren quickly? When you hardwired the ring siren on the wall, did you drill a hole in the wall, fed in the power cable and plug it in a wall outlet? Thank you.

    • @CloughReviews
      @CloughReviews  4 месяца назад +1

      The siren has 4 loudness setting + silent so you should have a setting that suits you and you can set the duration from 1 to 10 minutes. Yes, you get an immediate notification on the app to say that the siren is sounding. You can also get an email notification. You also get a notification to say that that the alarm has been armed and disarmed so that you know when someone else in the household has left or arrived home and can set up different codes so that you know who it is.
      The power for the siren, I used the existing power from an old alarm. However, I have fitted 3 more of the systems since and I did exactly like you said, a hole through the wall to take the transformers cable and the transformer plugged in in the house or loft. Good luck in fitting it if you buy one, it's a simple process and thank you for the comment.

    Popular misconception that the Range Extender is related to WiFi. It's not. Instead it acts as a Z-Wave repeater for the connected sensors. Battery devices cannot act as repeaters in a Z-Wave mesh.

    Finally getting rid of ADT. I have a question please . I'm gonna have three different pads in three different floors. I need the pad upstairs not to chirp at all when any sensor is opened or closed.
    And I need the one in the middle and Basement floors to only chirp when certain sensors are opened and closed.
    Are these options customizable? Thanks so much.
