This was already ma beast a you just turned on extra beast mode. Wow. I got my first Arrma for Christmas 18, a Talion 6S I was hooked I had a Traxxas Slash that always found a way to break and my son liked it so when went to visit on Vacation I gave it to him. In March of 19 we went into my SHop and I was ready to buy the new Rustler 4x4 VXL. My wife saw the Granite BXL and said you need to buy this instead. In 37 years of Marriage I've learned not to argue with the Lady and the Car guy in the store said it was leaps above the Traxxas. Same thing with the Kraton V4 4S I just got. They ordered it and I drove the 150 miles round trip and got it. I am now a huge Arrma fanboy. I don't buy anything else. This was great. The one thing I noticed is that your body is trashed in the same places mine is. So they had one waiting when I picked up the Kraton. Really big fan of what you do, you are really a fan guy of what you have.
Looks like there still room for bigger too 😁 and I bet it's alot better in the grass now too. Looks like a blast. I'll have one soon 🤞🙏 hopefully it'll work out for me without something stupid happening like always, my real truck will break down or something off the wall. Been trying to get into this for a while now. I fly fpv already but been trying to do rc trucks as well. They look amazing especially for rainy days and that when ya need to smile to most.
No but then I've never had a single RC car that has had heat sink compound on it ever....and I've had quite a few! I don't know of any RC car that has heat sink compound on as standard...
I'd love to make a 4s granite with outcast 4s electronics. However, wouldn't I need a bunch of other upgrades as well, like differentials, shocks, drive shaft, servo from 7kg to 15kg? I'm new to the hobby, so I'm sure there are many more I'm not thinking of. If I wanted to have a 4s Granite that didn't break every time I used it, what would I need to do? I'd really appreciate any help thinking through this.
The key problem area is the diffs as when I did this project the car ate them, and no one did uprated ones, the driveshafts will need upgrading immediately, also you'll want to change the tires for some belted ones as the stock ones balloon too much making it impossible to go fast. The servo will need upgrading to 20-25kg one. You'll need a new esc and motor but those are the easy bits!
Driftomaniacs. Thanks for your response, I’ll sub. Can you provide guidance on what I should be looking at for upgrade parts to make this thing work- maybe a new video idea? I saw a granite with box 185 esc on arrma forums for sale. That seems excessive, I just want to put the outcast 4s motor and esc on it - and then make it actually usable.
The power delivery is up there with the most fearsome I've ever put together "AKA The Widowmaker!". Got MX28's on order, picked up17mm hex adapters today, HR driveshafts due late next week. Shell sands here I come next weekend!
hello. i was driving today. just normal in the hood. And then suddenly the tyre fall of. the screw was gone and the pin but the rest was there. nothing broken. but goes this on garanty? this is the second time on 4 times something have gone bad. Its not so bad but i most wait 2 to 4 weeks on new parts. So i wonder do you think i can call to the shop here i live and ask they can send me the parts since the car is a month old and this is the second time something have happen wihout my faul i think. sry my bad english. Nice video. Maybe upgrade me too:)
Love your vids man....gotta question. Did you leave the plastic spur in, and do you think the 4s spur would fit. Also, how do you have the slipper set? Just curious. I've wondered what mine would do.
NOPE! I had one of the very first original granites and upgraded that to run on 4s/6s and the only upgrade I ever did was fit the uprated diff input shafts to it.
That's awesome!! Awesome video again! I have a stampede which I'm looking at turning into 4s. Might have a look into that combo. Was looking at the hobbywing Max10 SCT 3200kv.
Before watching it run: It could probably do a higher gearing😅 After watching it at the table: Haha, after different wheels maybe😂 After watching it run: Eeeeh yeah... OK, the gearing is high enough😅 Great vid!
Fantastic upgrades Rich, awesome how to 👍 it's a bloody animal, try putting fishing line on the tyres to stop them ballooning like I did on my JLB, awesome Bashing Test, you made me smile 👍😁👍
Larry mine held up for a long while even when I upped the power, however then it started to eat them often with no warning and often when not under full load/acceleration
Tough one! They are both very good, I've owned both. The traxxas one seemed to break more often but probably has the better support and mods out there for it. That said the Granite 3S is faster out of the box, when you fit the speed pinion to the rustler it may go faster but the acceleration plummets.
Your's will be more stable than this due to the big rock having the longer wheelbase, MX28's on order with 17m hex, hex adapters bought today! Along with HR driveshafts (coming next week)
@@DriftomaniacsRC Make sure you use braided fishing line with the MX28, unless you want it to balloon on jumps for landings and faster flips but i dont think its necessary unless you want to break records or w/e lol.
Aside from the inability to adjust locked details in the Arrma electrics, I find them to be a great value esc and motor. Of all my Arrma trucks, I have no reason to change from stock unless I ruin them during regular bashing. If I do smoke the stock kit, I may upgrade or go to Jenny's and replace with standard. I thought about going to the 4s with my BRCC but as I said, no reason to until I burn up what I have...and it came close to happening a couple weeks ago when I failed to watch temps and got my motor up to 220F!
Just need some other tires to try here, Rich. Something that will hook up well could be the ever popular Badlands 2.8. Even Trenchers after a quick rain in that spot. 6 or 10mm HR extensions and good to go. 🍻🍻👍
Thanks I think I'm going to get the MX28 badlands in the morning but go for the 17mm hex as the 12mm traxxas mx28's I had, had the hex inside the wheel go in short order. Thanks for confirming what I thought might be the way to go
@@DriftomaniacsRC I did the old way but there is a new way with Badlands. Old way needed 6mm HR extensions and Duratrax hubs. Whilst you can upgrade it to 4S to warn you it's just about undriveable, I did even try 6S and you can barely move 6ft before it flips. So whilst it can be done I'd say stick with 4S. Hope that helps as I do these conversions to see how they work, some are stupid fast and work well, others like this can be just about undriveable.
Sick. Has anyone had issues with the dboots on the granite being glued poorly and causing the tire to wobble (not the hub or wheel) it makes the car skiddiah on pavement.

No you risk burning out the stock 3s esc. When I ran 4s on this car it was with a mamba X esc which can take up to 6s. Also 4s was too much power for this car. It was funny but very hard to drive, and it ate parts at an inhuman rate! Main problem is the diffs which are plastic and there aren't any metal upgrades available for them.
