I worked in a movie theater when this was released, and I'll never forget how quiet and upset audiences were at that ending. People left the theater like they were leaving a funeral. But just like John Doe said of his acts, this movie became studied and discussed and they couldn't deny the significance of what they saw.
Yep. Saw it opening night. The silence as credits rolled was deafening. No one even moved for several minutes. It was like if we spoke or stood up, something terrible would happen.
@@otterpoetI experienced something similar, it wasn't on opening Night but the 2nd Weekend, but besides that me and Friends was through the exact same thing.
I definitely disagree. It's a grand ending, very dark. When so many movies were predictable, Fincher (and AKW) gave us "Se7en". And remeber, next year this movie turns 30. Different times. Saw it in the theater myself. Personally I just wanted to leave and then go back in for a second viewing. But the silence was indeed deafening. Movie art. But that's just my two cents. @@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017You actually have a thought out opinion rather than jumping on some bandwagon with no thought of your own. Respect.
I personally love the film, but I also like hearing from those that don’t like what I do to see what didn’t work for them.
It might not be your taste but call it overrated isn't gonna devalue what it bring to the film and movie industry, if you aren't bold enought to stand out then you will endup in a pile of trash that are being prosuct every year@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017
"Had to look past his unfortunate looks..." 😂 Gold.
Came here for this I had to pause it for a proper giggle-fit 😂😂😂😂
Shut up and take my Like and Subscribe for this line! 😂😂😂
Dark, gritty, gory, nightmarish. One of my favorite crime thrillers.
you mean every david fincher movie which are all in fact a piece of art and everyone should be watched
A few halloweens ago Paltrow wore a costume that was literally a box marked FRAGILE on her head
Brilliant
That's awesome.
funny and ironic in so many ways.
20:15 I always loved him telling the homeless woman to eat. Like, "I know you're probably gonna use some of this money for drugs or alcohol, but please, at least feed yourself." No extorting or judgment, just a transaction and concern.
The Trent Reznor opening really set the mood of this film well!
Love it
Greatest opening to a movie ever.
I can see why Trent Reznor won the Oscar and Golden Globe for scoring Fincher's other movie The Social Network
I am generally impressed by rockers-turned-composers like Trent and Danny Elfman.
@@LordVolkovTom holkenborg
Kat, when you said, “That’s the sloth’s hand,” I said, “Hey! He’s got a name!” 😂
lol
One of the craziest psychological horror thriller movies ever made!
The scene where they find the victim, Sloth, tied to the bed after a year, and everyone thought he was dead, was on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments.
Gets me every time even though I know it's coming
Actually scared some of the actors. The guy was so thin and his skin was so waxen, that most thought it was a dummy. He held so very still. So when he suddenly gasped for air, it took a few by surprise.
Yea they didnt tell the actors that that was another actor so there scared reactions werent acted
@@Bluesit32 I could tell John McGinley certainly like WTF especially since he was so close to the actor, damn I would have pissed myself
7:03 Nobody ever picks up on the way Somerset lists through the Seven Deadly Sins, pauses for a brief nano-second, and then turns to Mills when he says "Envy".
good catch...
But Mills was Wrath. John Doe was Envy. :)
@@lennyvalentin6485 True and his Envy led to Wrath
Good spotting. But if it WAS intentional, maybe it was William unconsciously turning to David because William envies David's innocence and ignorance of the darkness he himself is the victim of. Maybe, just a thought.
@@williamsomerset1250
Yes, this would be the intention if it was there. William is burnt out and retiring. Mills is eager and full of zest.
If you watch the beginning intro again, with the Trent Reznor music, you can see scenes of John Doe doing his stuff. He is cutting the skin from his fingertips with that razor blade. He is writing in those journals they found. He is preparing the glue solution that will be used in the "Pride" victim. He is sewing up and doing finishing touches on the leather apparatus used in the "Lust" victim. He is taking pictures, presumably of the "Sloth" victim, Viktor. He is reading about how to 'torture' his "Gluttony" victim, and has just started in on his "Greed" victim. It isn't until after the movie, that you realize that the intro was John Doe doing all these things.
Oh wow!😲
The 90's had so many great movies, wish they could still put out mainstream stuff like this.
I took a date to see Se7en when it was in theaters. We went to dinner afterward, and my date's hands were shaking so bad that the food kept falling off her fork. There was no second date. David Fincher is a brilliant filmmaker, but I've been kinda mad at him ever since.
She didn't love Seven? I wouldn't have given her a second date either.
Fincher and healthy relationships often do not mix.
you could have mimicked the line... "What's in the box...!?!" in anguish and maybe... maybe in misery you both could have bonded... (I'm kidding of course... maybe... depending on if you're horrified or amused...) (epic story though)
This didn't happen.
I remember one time. My 90+ year old gran called me up to help her record a detective story.
"Sure nan," I said, "what is it about?"
"Oh it's a film called Seven!"
"Oh Nan, I'm not sure you'll like that, it's a bit gruesome."
"Is it?" She exclaimed "oh I don't like gruesome murders - I like nice murders."
Instantly I conjured up every Miss Marple, Poirot and Murder She Wrote episode we'd ever watched together - and I knew *exactly* what she meant.
She died 6 years later, but I shall always remember her voice over the telephone: "I like nice murders!"
It's a very good job no-one was listening to her confess.
Anyway, Seven top movie but it's not in any way "nice".
Your killing it Kat. "What's in the next weeks video box?" 🤣🤣🤣
The way the killer yells “Detective!” when he walks into the station is maybe the most chilling line in the whole movie.
David Fincher is known for dark cinematography. I highly suggest his film "The Game" (1997) with Michael Douglas and Sean Penn. It's not horror, but you will be clinching the edge of your seat.
The Game is an amazing film!
His film debut, Alien 3, is underrated. He did what he could to salvage that movie. But yeah David Fincher can do dark and gritty very well. Zodiac (2007) is another great film he directed. Kat outta check that one out, too.
I didn’t know Fincher did The Game!?!
I second The Game, loved that movie!
yeah... if "Seven" fu**ed your head... "The Game" would be like fist*ng your ears...
Love that Kat’s finding ways to get some horror-adjacent movies in, as movies like this and Silence of the Lambs are just so good. Bravo!
the best horror/crime thrillers of all time!
She needs to branch out...smart choice by her...
Agreed.
I hope she does some David Lynch movies, it would be so fun to see her try to make sense of them lol
And even as a massive horror fan, I can't criticise that for a second. Those are both such exceptional movies.
Arguably the best detective movie ever made. All star cast, great atmosphere and top notch script.
Perfect modern Noir
Another good Detective movies is “Fallen” with Denzal Washington. It was similar to this one

"Kansas City Confidential"
This was my first date movie with my now wife. We saw it in the theater and when we discussed it, we discovered we both liked it so much, we saw it again the next night. This is how we knew we were made for each other. 🤣
Monitoring library records was illegal before the PATRIOT Act was passed after 9/11. The legislation included Section 215. It gave the FBI the ability to, as the American Library Association stated in protest of the measure, “secretly request and obtain library records for large numbers of individuals without any reason to believe they are involved in illegal activity." It was renewed multiple times, and finally expired in 2020 because of delays in budget negotiations.
Yeah, it's easy to forget that back in the mid 90's, the idea that the government would be routinely monitoring us was considered 'conspiracy theorist' territory.
Land of the free..
They're still doing it. You know they do. :)
Library records? Snowden proved they do this with everything. The 4th amendment no longer exists and nobody cared.
'Patriot' Act. Using sweet words with a traumatized nation to take their freedoms.
One of the best endings in cinema! It blew my mind the first time I saw this!
I sat in the theatre for the entire ending credits, trying to process what I had just seen.
I decided 'Heart's Filthy Lesson' is a great song. I love me some David Bowie.
Saw Bowie with NIN shortly after the movie came out. One of the best concerts ever, their duet on "Hurt" was so memorable. I had a pirated CD of that show with great sound. Still pissed I lost it.
What gets me, is think back to the car ride out with John Doe. Its so much more disturbing when you think back to him telling Mills to remember every time he looks in the mirror that the only reason he's alive was because John Doe allowed it and wanted it.
Its so dark and messed up, and you gotta believe it would stay with Mills for the rest of his life. That Doe could've just killed him in that alley. But instead he kept him alive, murdered his wife, and drove him to kill Doe, all because Doe wanted it and allowed it.
That is some top tier mind-f***ing.
I've never received a strange package and not cried out, "What's in the box???"
You don't want to know. It's a secret!
FACTS haha
Me too I think it's against the Law not too 😆
Even when I know what's in the box I still say it
There's always that question in the back of your mind: is the delivery driver giving me head 👍
I only discovered this channel this week. Blasting through the older content but had to watch this one. You should watch 1408 next. Another Steven king I think.
Ah 1408 is good. Super eerie.
I still remember seeing this in the theater and at the end everyone…EVERYONE just silently walked out of the movie and to their cars just in confusion and terrorof the ending . Unbelievable movie
This and Silence of the Lambs are two of my favorite movies of all time, glad you are not only enjoying them but recognize how well crafted they are.
Rated one of the best movies of all time. Absolutely brilliant storytelling
The opening credits are perhaps the best ever put to film.
"The world is a fine place and worth fighting for ... I agree with the second part."
Goosebumps! Everytime! 😁
This film is truly a masterpiece. You, however, are an utter delight to watch movies with. Never stop being you and sharing these reactions with us!
90´s had the icons of horror/thriller/cop movies, few examples like
Morgan had Kiss the girls (with Ashley Judd)
Denzel with Fallen (Donald Sutherland) and Bone Collector (Angelina Jolie)
Keanu with The Devil's Advocate (All Pacino)
It was a nice touch that Kevin's name wasnt on the open credits, to not put the audience in some suspecious idea that he was the killer.
Omg I need Kat to react to Kiss The Girls right now!
"Fallen" is awesome. Highly recommended for Kat.
All excellent movies. But I have to say Fallen is one of my all time favorites. The storyline is simply fantastic.
All great films...
Unpopular opinion, but I personally would add 8MM to the list... It's not perfect, but still a great nail biting, tense thriller
For the same reason, he also didn't appear in any pre-release publicity for the film.
The fact we only see the aftermath and some witnesses accounts of the crime makes it more disturbing then actually seeing the deaths happen
"seven what?"
TRAUMAS
💯 😂
Love the witty, inciteful reactions and comments. You have me laughing out loud so many times. I imagine you'd be first on the guest list for your friend's parties. Your timing is so professional, like a musician playing the gaps between the vocals. Very entertaining, in my humble opinion. You're nailing It! 😊
I've commented on several of your videos by now. I don't know which one you're actually going to see, so again; I just want to complement you on how awesome it is to watch your reactions from like 1 year back until most recently. You are so much more in control of your fear and jump scares. It is absolutely admirable. I've personally watched Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and actually much more in the first even the first 10 years of my life and I am completely desensitized, so I absolutely appreciate an honest view.
This movie is a masterpiece! A truly heart wrenching and disturbing masterpiece!
"The world is a fine place, and worth fighting for. I agree with the second part." One of the best lines in movie history and I agree with it more every day the world gets worse and worse. @Kat your anger and heartbreak was EXACTLY what we all felt when we first saw it
When I saw this in the theater, I jumped about 5 feet in the air when the Sloth guy coughed when they found him. Brilliant screenplay and great performances, and you were entertaining and made a great reaction vid, as usual.
Me too. I saw this in theaters a couple of times.
oh yeah, I forgot how freaky that moment was!
I saw this as a rental and that scene damn near gave me a heart attack, a very worthy jump scare. It's right up there with the "testing" scene in The Thing.
Best "Seven" reaction on RUclips. It is, as you rightly say, a masterpiece - and I think it's still David Fincher's best film. You have fine taste. Other Fincher films worth a reaction: "Gone Girl", "Zodiac", and "The Game" - they're not *really* remotely "horror", but worth a look.
36:03 "-Ernest Hemingway once wrote: 'The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.' -I agree with the second part."
Ohhh.
You should check out The Devil's Advocate. Keanu Reeves movie that blends more legal drama tropes with biblical ones. Looots of naughty good fun.
Yes! Another fantastic piece of cinema!
"heh, heh, heh, they're so screwed". Love it
Two of my absolute favorite twist movies star Kevin Spacey. Se7en. And The Usual Suspects. Which is still my favorite movie of all time, and I'm 51.
honestly, you are one of the most authentic and fun reaction channels i follow....thank you for the content...
I like your whole reaction channel...it's one of the best ones so I must recommend to you...and just trust me on this...one day watch Oldboy (2003), NOT the American remake but the original Korean. And of course best to go in blind....I GUARANTEE it will be one of your most epic reactions...just based on how you respond to certain films. Anyway...take care and keep that one in mind. :)
Kat, you are correct, this is a masterpiece. Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman play off each other perfectly.
The acting, writing and directing are tops, not to mention the imagery. The subtle yet terrifying music in the background is very unsettling.
Notice when Mills & Somerset are discussing the color in the station after the Sloth victim.
There are many people working in the background, yet it seems like they are completely isolated from them,
I love the scene when Mills and Somerset are having a drink after the Pride moment. The conversation about apathy is fantastic.
This movie is more than just the big reveal at the end. It's a fantastic character study.
One last thing, as frightening as John Doe is, his lawyer is even more frightening.
Perfect reaction, Kat.
I agree with pretty much all of this except the second part ;-) The music isn't subtle so much as it is overwhelming at times.
KAT I WILL WATCH ANYTHING YOU REACT TO! I stumbled upon one of your videos last week and have BINGE WATCHED almost all of your reactions. My goodness as much as it’s funny that you’re scared of horror films, I loved seeing you express your anger in this reaction! Please feel free to react to other genres of film/tv shows because you have brilliant deductions, you’re super down to earth, & hilarious! 🤍
One of best dialogue pieces was in the police car with John Doe.
Kevin Spacey may be a creep in real life, but man can he play the bad guy with an expertise I've never seen before.
So well cast, acted and David Fincher's brilliant directing.
I usually say "fun reaction" like I usually do, but that ending as brilliant as it was, was not fun.
One of the best detective/crime drama's ever made.
Kevin Spacey. That's the *real* horror of this movie.
You do realize that Kevin Spacey was found not guilty on all nine charges brought against him? I'm not surprised that it wasn't more of a headline since the media likes to report more on dirt than the truth.
Exactly, they hire a REAL creep to play a creep.
„IT MESSED WITH MY HEAD“ - Brilliant thumbnail Kat😂❤
Definitely a masterpiece! This is one of the many reasons why David Fincher is one of the greatest directors of all time!
Kat bringing the absolutely unhinged psycho energy with the “Shoot im shoot im shoot im SHOOT IM SHOOT IM” and I am here for it
When you rush home from work early because Kat is reacting to "Seven"?😮 awww...man this going to be good.🍿👀👏🏾
Seven had one of the biggest jump scares I have ever experienced in a theater. The guy on the bed still being alive. I felt this sensation in my knees that made me want to run out of the theater. I had to force myself not to. As always, recommending “Malignant”.
Fun facts. The guy who worked at the motel and said the line.
“There are guys with suitcases full of stuff.” Is the guy who played fun boy in the crow. And the UPS driver is the doctor who says
“You need to lighten up.” In fight club.
You ok there, kid?
Yes, that flick's in a class by itself.
Thanks for the unparalleled work you do.
♡🖖
Have fun with Amazon boxes now😂
The incongruous moments of humor make this an even more amazing movie. Like when Pitt says "the Marquis de Sharday." I consider this superior to "The Silence of the Lambs" because of the relentless dark tone, and the fact that there's no Catherine Martin walking away holding Precious at the end. Brilliant.
Brad pronouncing Marquis de Sade like the name of singer Sade Adu is so funny!
I think he really did that cause he probably doesn't know how to pronounce it.
Fincher is a perfectionist. He isn't about quantity when making movies, but quality. He films everything to perfection. One of, if not THE best living director.
I was totally stoked on seeing your reaction to this Kat!!!
i just found this channel last week, and i can say these reactions are one of the best reactions on youtube! your vibe is so good 👏👏
Seven: the ultimate feel-bad movie.
Watch Irreversible...
Last time I said I thought I couldn't love you more, then you said you played Hades. ❤❤❤
This time, I thought I couldn't love you more, then you said "mmmm breakfast sammies, my favorite"
Breakfast sandwiches are the best. I will die on that hill.
The scene when John Doe walks into the police precinct and surrenders is possibly my favorite scene in the film; we finally get to see his face and see him looking like just an ordinary nobody, only covered in blood. *"DETECTIVE!!! You're looking for me."*
Glad you finally got to watch this, and glad you liked it! Great film. Fincher is a hell of a director. 'Zodiac' is another terrific and horrifying thriller. If you ever do series - 'Mindhunter' is a series by Fincher that's amazing.
I follow at lot of reaction channels but this is one of my favourite on RUclips. Along with Caped Informer. Not too much talking. Just light-hearted fun! ♥️
Hi Kat!!! I just wanted to pop in and say that I have watched every single one of your videos and it’s the highlight of my week. I have a couple suggestions for you. The first one is called, “You’re Next” (2011). The next one is called, “Ready or Not” (2019), and finally, “The Hunt” (2020). keep up the great work and hopefully I’ll be able to catch your reaction to one of these movies. Have a wonderful rest of your week!
It's grimly beautiful. Brad's life is spared in order to line him up as number seven. And the only reason they go out there at all is that if they don't they'll never find the last two bodies. Of course, they never *would* find the last two bodies if they didn't. Except Gwyneth is already dead, so if they didn't, Brad would never get his revenge. He also wouldn't go to prison. It's just an insane loop. And he gets them out there at seven, too. The writer was kind of rooting for his villain a bit. He gets everyone laughing near the end to pull the rug out even harder.
@KatWatchesHorrorMovies This was such a beautiful reaction., possibly the best I've seen in months. Your keeping up with the plot, talking at the right time when giving hilarious commentary and real raw reactions that show how immersed you are, all while looking gorgeous the whole time.
Please consider doing a reaction to The Butterfly Effect, is a dark mystery much like this and always makes for a great reaction and i feel it would be perfect for you. If ofcourse you haven't seen it already. If so, Creep is also quite a great movie i always recommend.
Envy and Wrath were the final 2 sins. A once in a lifetime movie.
The funny thing is, he spent years setting up this project, but then just pivoted at the very end and made it all about a guy who’d just moved to the city!
@crumblebee6728 He says in tge phone call that Mills forced him to "move up [his] timeline" and change things. I think part of that is revenge for the stairwell encounter.
@@Deathbird_Mitch the set back is them discovering his apartment
I want to see the Lifetime movie of Seven.
Kat's face when it ended is just like my face when I saw it for the first time. Yup, a masterpiece.
"...that's the real horror of this movie...". I love those comments/jokes! Yessss! Keep them coming! I heart your rxn videos, Kat!
Wow. There's hand models - voice actors - stunt men and models... is there facial expression actors??? Because you have mad skillz. You are the most expressive "reactor" I've seen on the Tube. Kudos!
One the most disturbing ending that I've ever seen in a movie .😮🍿📚
Had a ball watching along with you, thanx for the smiles.
What makes it amazing is that every single thing Spacey's character says - whilst being obviously a sociopathic monster - is absolutely honest; the most compelling villain of all is the one you find yourself agreeing with.
Hey Kat! I love your videos, you're hilarious! I hope you'll be flattered to know that my two favorite things to say now are "Dont like that!" and "Nah ... nah ... nah"
Love your reactions, and thanks to you, i say "that's the real horror of this..................", in every day situations! Lots of love from the UK. ❤️🇬🇧
Always love the fact that the actors genuinely freaked out when SLOTH revealed himself to be alive. _None of them_ realized that the 'body' was an actual person. The director had him come on set in secret, and then lie there, pretending to be dead, for like 45 minutes or more. Poor SWAT guy nearly had a heart attack XD
An absolute mind blowingly well made movie. Keeps you engaged and on edge without blatent blood spilling for shock value. One of the best thrillers ever.
My friend was really shook after we saw this on its original release date, and we had go to Dennys afterwards to talk. I was fascinated and couldn't stop writing about it. After many years, I've come to the conclusion that the movie's core message is about the transfer of love through the ultimate sacrifice. William and John Doe are both exceptionally smart and therefore aware of all the pain in the world; but best they can do is keep their distance and scorn it. David and Tracey come the closest to a love that can remain hopeful enough to bring life into the world. John Doe is essentially saying: if your love is legitimate, heal all of us who suffer in our sins. True love would be willing and able to accept crippling loss and still transfer it to worst of the worst. Since David is unable to act beyond his own ego's conception of love, the reality of a transcending healing love is made ever more clearer, yet even more elusive.
Thank you for saying he had a name! Fat guys like me appreciate it!
I like that you're starting to move from horror to thrillers. Silence of the Lambs and now Seven! Both amazing movies. The ending in this one caught me way off guard my first time watching.
Almost 30 years old now and never fails to impress. An amazing movie.
I love watching you watch movies
11:49 I'd love to fall asleep cradled next to Morgan Freeman. He could lull me into slumber by telling me all about penguins...
"Easy! Round up the lazy people. Maybe you're next". That's some next-level detective work, Kat.
The 90's was such a great decade for movies, arguably the last great decade. As well as this masterpiece there was the likes of Silence Of The Lambs, Terminator 2, Heat, Jurassic Park, L.A Confidential, True Romance, Thelma & Louise, The Matrix, Pulp Fiction, Saving Private Ryan, Fight Club, Schindler's List, Fargo to name just a few.
The role of John Doe was uncredited when Seven first came out at the insistence of Kevin Spacey himself, he was a well respected up and coming actor back then and he wanted his appearance to be a surprise for the audience.
I already know this is going to be legit.
Love your movie choices and can never wait for more! Another wonderful reaction. Thank you!
Great reaction Kat, i love this movie it´s a masterpiece of cinema, the dialogue is sharp, the performances immaculate, and the twists continually surprising. There are some fun-facts about it Brad Pitt refused to make the movie if studio executives changed the ending, he came up with the movie’s ending. He thought that Mills should be the one to kill John Doe, which would give the movie a somber, realistic ending without the big, satisfying moment of retribution that most of these movies have. Initially, executives at New Line Cinema despised this ending, and tried to have it changed. However, Pitt threatened not to do the movie if they changed the ending, and they were forced to relent. Leland Orser went to extreme lengths to prepare for the interrogation scene. In order to nail his intensity in the interrogation scene, Leland Orser did rapid breathing between takes to saturate his body with oxygen and allow him to hyperventilate at will. He also deprived himself of sleep for a few days before shooting the scene, so that he’d look suitably disoriented. David Fincher’s vision for this movie was to essentially make a black-and-white movie in color. He brought on cinematographer Darius Khondji who at the time, was known for shooting perfume commercials to pull off this effect. The signature gloomy look of this film was mainly achieved with a chemical process called “bleach bypass.” Plus, the silver was left in the film stock, which added to the darkness of each shot. Brad Pitt really did injure his warm while filming, so his cast was real and had to written into the movie. Morgan Freeman’s son Alfonso, had a brief cameo as a fingerprint tech. While shooting the gluttony scene, the production poured seven crates of cockroaches all over the set. Reportedly, one of them even crawled in actor Bob Mack’s underwear. The sloth victim Victor was played an actual actor, Michael Reid MacKay, who weighed only 90 pounds during filming. Due to his incredibly slender physique, he’s played roles of creatures/ghosts/monsters in The Monster Squad, Insidious: Chapter 3. During the Greed scene, actor Gene Borkan was covered in so much fake blood that he got stuck to the floor. Despite being a movie about a brutal serial killer, only one kill is seen on screen, when Mills shoots John Doe at the very end. Ironically, 6 years after the movie was released the Patriot Act gave legal permission for library records to be pulled, which this movie made a big deal about being very illegal in 1995. Keep up the good work.
"Se7en" was somewhat controversial at the time for its extensive use of handheld "shakycam" footage. Fincher, who had come out of the world of music videos was more open to using shaky camera footage in a world where movies were traditionally all about NOT shaking the camera, and instead opted for as steady footage as possible, unless some sort of special circumstance dictated shaking in a particular scene.
In fact, a device was invented in the mid-1970s called the Steadicam, which used a man-worn harness and spring loaded arm that isolated the camera from the operator's movements and gave just about as steady footage as traditional crane and dolly shots using the freedom of a photographer's own two feet. So to go to pure hand-held during heavy movement scenes was quite the shift in philosophy.
Of course, people today don't react to this, as shaky camera footage is a staple in modern action movies of any/all sorts. :P I remember being quite jarred by all the shaking during the John Doe chase sequence, back when I saw this movie in a theatre when it was new.
End of oldtimey trivia... :)
Thanks, Lenny!
This is my favorite thriller from the 90s. Dark and atmospheric, Fincher does thriller SO well. His other thriller offerings are worth checking out as well. The Game, Gone Girl, Fight Club, Zodiac. I wouldn't called Fincher's work "horror" per se, but a lot of them have a horror feel, so I say definitely include them on your reaction list. :)
WHAT'S IN THE BOX!!! Classic. Glad this one made your list to watch.
Kat, I've never seen you completely speechless, except at the end of this movie. That was the way I felt when originally saw it.
I love that you pick up on the clues the murders leave in the beginning of movies, like this one. But didn't get why they were shaving their chests.😂😂😂 I love you and your Chanel
I saw it in the theater the week it came out in 1995. I was having a lousy week and thought, "Oh, a Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman buddy cop movie. That'll work." I. Was. Wrong. Great movie! But it didn't improve my week.
Great reaction Kat!
If you want another Fincher film, check out Zodiac (2007) with Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr, and Mark Ruffalo. It's not "horror" in the strictest sense, but you've done The Silence of the Lambs and now Se7en and it's in a similar vein as those so I think you'd enjoy it. Plus, it's based on actual events so in some sense it might be more scary.
Another Fincher film you should see is The Game (1997) with Michael Douglas. It's a pure thriller with no horror elements at all, so you might not want it on the channel, but it's well worth a watch if you haven't seen it.
Absolutely love that movie.
I wouldn't want to be the prosecutor that argues to convict the detective of murder in front of a jury. A plea deal would be the best the prosecutor could hope for.
Well done, Kat!
Yes. This movie is ageless masterpiece. You'll never hear "what's in the box" ever the same again.
