A lot of Constantine comic fans HATED this film because it was no where near comic accurate. Totally fair as there was studio and budgetary stuff behind the scenes. Matt Ryan is a great comic accurate representation (his short lived Constantine series deserved better than NBC). On its own, this is a great film. It's got tight writing, it keeps pace and feels very noir/procedural-esque. The behind the scenes is very in-depth and it's great to see how much thought and detail was put into the production. Fun fact, the devils costume was actually supposed to be the tattoos you see but black leather pants and a dog collar. Peter Stormare was the one who was like, yeah no, he's a fallen angel; he's got to come correct with the white suit.
Awesome as always, Kat. If you're in the mood for more angels behaving badly, give 1995's The Prophesy a view. It's by no means a good film, but watching Christopher Walken devour scenery for 90-odd minutes is a joy not to be missed.

If you didn't know there is an after credits scene where Constantine visits Chas's grave and leaves the gold plated lighter on his grave saying he did a good job. As he turns to leave Chas shows up on his grave with wings, in his angelic form and then flies away.

If you didn't know, Balthazar is Gavin Rossdale, singer in the band Bush and Ex Husband to Gwen Stefani. I thought he did great in the roll. That "Girl" you saw at the end, Michelle Monaghan. Someone Correct me if I am wrong but John and that Character had some kind of Romance I heard in the Constantine Series.

I don't believe in god and hate the realities of religion, but at the same time, I really like this movie. And as others have said, Peter Stormair plays one of the best devils ever.
I have thought the same. If I were to guess though, I'd say that if she ever were to respond to something like this, she'd say something along the lines of anything is possible, but in the mean time there are still a lot of horror movies to get through. I haven't seen her respond though and don't know her, so that's just a guess.
I woukdnt classify his as a "horror" movie. This is the fine line between comic book and "horror" kinda like Blade movies. Its a excellent comic book rendition. Constentine is DC comic book character. This movie is a lot of fun!
Was waiting the entirety of this EPIC for the real horror of this film, and it did not disappoint. As mentioned below, this film's Lucifer with Peter Stormare and AlPacino's in The Devil's Advocate are absolutely TOP NOTCH. Another film, you absolutely need on your list if reaction video's as it's not only another Reeves blockbuster, but the way he shares screen time with an acting legend in Pacino is "Devilishly" good. (P.S. Mark Pellegrino as the Devil in Supernatural also ranks at the top, except that's a TV series)
They were edging each other, lol. Even though this movie's constantine is very different than the hellblazer's version, it was such a good performance that the movie character stands own his own.
Kat is the best! Never a bad reaction! The finale interaction between Tilda Swinton, Peter Stormare, and Keanu is just perfection. Fits the universe, playful and inventive, and excellent in execution. Really, if there wasn't the Matrix-y section with the holy shotgun, I'd say this movie would have been great. It's simply okay and I recommend it purely in the Gabriel and Satan stuff and the fun premise and setting. Constantine could be a better character too, either more more of a jerk or more of a sly deal maker. That's part of why the conclusion is so good.
Constantine is based on the comic book superhero who fights the paranormal dark forces in the DC universe. Actor Matt Ryan plays a more comic book accurate Constantine in the animated series and in the very good live action TV series. Shia’s character of Chad Kramer played by a different actor in the series was a major character as Constantine’s partner. TV Constantine had crossovers with the Green Arrow and The Flash, so he appeared in the universe with Superman and Batgirl. His interaction with TV’s Lucifer is a highlight. Keanu Reeves and Peter Stormare as Lucifer in Constantine is also a highlight. The two actors reunited briefly in John Wick 2. Keanu Reeves appear in an establishment that’s ’neutral ground’ where violence is not allowed in Constantine and the John Wick franchise. Kat, that smile on your face, I had one too, in every ‘close moments’ between Constantine and Angela. And that look of disappointment afterwards….The winged beast that grabbed Angela and dropped her in the pool was Gabriel. That actress you recognized before she died of holy water sprinkler had a bigger role as Constantine’s girlfriend, but were all edited out. Keanu Reeves wants to do the character again. Fingers crossed.
yep subbing. The 1st and only movie react channel I came across with perfect editting, enthusiasm and also knows the names of the actors and not some boring BS. Although It'd be better to have the cam 20:80 to the source not the other way around.
The first time I saw Tilda Swinton cast as Gabriel I was convinced that this is one of the most well cast comic book adaptions of the era. Fantastic movie start to finish and I am very curious about the second one. #nopressure
I've never heard anyone say "GUM!" with such joy. :D You were so happy over the top cast Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz and Shia LaBeouf. Me on the other hand was happiest with Tilda Swinton and Peter Stormare. Praise be the different tastes!
This one definitely gets a thumbs-up from me. I usually only reserve those for stuff that's (*ahem*) "worthy", not inane (albeit fun - damn fun sometimes) stuff like reaction videos. But I do make exceptions, because what would life be like without those, right?! :D You've always delivered, on every one of your videos I've watched (you've seen way more horror movies than I have, so I skip anything I haven't seen myself), and this time you really delivered. Wow, the commentary was excellent this time, and funny. Really enjoyed that, and the gesturing and all the other stuff you bring. Super fun watching you watch one of my fav movies of all time (although I have A LOT of those - I don't rank stuff, I just put in buckets of arbitrary size - good, bad, terrible, awful beyond belief, GOAT, and so on.) They don't smooch by the way because this movie goes against type. That's why Gabriel is played by Tilda Swinton, and is the main villain. (Spoiler alert, sorry, for anyone reading comments before watching a movie - you weirdo! lol) It's why the Devil wears white, and why they don't smooch. You expect it, so it doesn't happen. You may or may not know, but John Constantine himself is actually based on a comic book character - who is famously blonde by the way whereas Keanu obviously isn't in this movie. That upset the nerds and the dorks a bit you might say, way back when the movie first came out. Hopefully they came to understand eventually that such minor details aren't really important, especially when it comes to a great movie like this one. I don't know if you're into comics or not, but Hellblazer, the comic where I believe he was originated, and feature most prominently, is said to be really good. I haven't read it myself, I have read The Books of Magic though, penned by Neil Gaiman, where he also appears, and it is friggin fantastic. Love Swinton's performance so much by the way - she's such a tour de force, albeit quite subtle here. Gabriel's peculiar insanity really shines through in the final scene with her after she's lost her wings, she's not even concerned about possibly being killed - and might actually desire to be. So friggin creepy. Next time? Why not Cloverfield, if you want something that's quite the left hand turn partway through. 12 Cloverfield Lane is also incredible by the way. Very very tense, for sure. They're not direct sequels, despite the similar names. You might say the latter is inspired by the other, or sorta related - very distantly, in a way. I dunno. They're just REALLY good both of them, each in different ways. Also try "The Ninth Gate" if you like. It does have a bad man in it - or at least allegedly so (Johnny Depp), but he is really good in the role and other actors in other movies have also been bad men, so... *shrug* Oh, and the director is a very bad man (Roman Polanski.) Use your own judgment, the movie is really good though, creepy, ominous, fabulous list of actors in big and small roles alike, and with a simply amazing movie score I might add. It is super fantastic and fits the overall mood so perfectly. Or why not "The Abyss"? Not a horror movie per se (like "Gremlins", which you've already seen.) It's more like a tense thriller type story - you might even say it's......under pressure. lol Sorry. :D Do watch the extended cut of that movie though as the story works much better in the longer version. Or "Ransom" - another really rather tense thriller type movie. Very much emotions in this one, be prepared. Anyway... Thank you!
Matt Ryan, who plays Constantine in the show, is picture perfect and more comic book accurate. He also nails the role and I hope he continues to play the character in the future. But dispite the changes from the source material, I really like this movie, and Keanu makes a great Constantine too. Kinda how the Lucifer show and the Lucifer comic are both very different from each other *and* very good in their own way.
Peter Stormare's portrayal of Satan may be one of the best in cinema, right up there with Al Pacino in Devil's Advocate.
He started his acting in theater and it shows ^^
honestly, i found pacino more over the top and annoying rather than menacing.... definitely one of his weaker roles in my opinion

@24:07 I SWEAR THIS MADE ME THINK YOU WERE THE SQUARE PEG VIRAL VIDEO I WENT ON A GIANT GOOGLE SEARCH and it turns out her name is Alison Burke so nevermind lmfao but OMFG I loved your reaction you're so funny and witty with your quips and humor. Loved this reaction! Liked/Subscribed/Notified! :3
am i the only one who winks back when kat winks. yeh i figured. anyway kat please never change you never fail to make my day by making me smile your humour is amazing
Your reactions are Everything and boy, you did not disappoint! Constantine is one of my favorite movies for so many reasons, all of which you seemed just as thrilled by. Can't wait for whatever you've got coming up next
Please watch Bram Stoker’s Dracula!
Agreed. Great movie, and more Keanu.
That going to hell scene is amazing. The whole damned film is great. Glad you appreciated it. 'Jacobs Ladder' is another great horror film I'd suggest.
I've only just discovered your channel and I am absolutely obsessed. I've been binge watching all your videos for the last few days. ❤
Currently suffering from a bad bout depression so this reaction video was a perfect pick me up.
Your reactions are witty & hilarious, your a diamond Kat.
Just a friendly reminder to hang in there. Depression is an awful beast, but it is beatable :D
Stay strong. You matter
@@J_ivesy thank you
Katt cheers me up as well, hope you are doing better.@Timelord007
I absolutly love this movie so much! Even if it's nothing like the Constantine comic, it just has an special place in my heart. Also, Peter Stormare's Lucifer has to be one of my favorite of all time.
If you didn't know there is an after credits scene where Constantine visits Chas's grave and leaves the gold plated lighter on his grave saying he did a good job. As he turns to leave Chas shows up on his grave with wings, in his angelic form and then flies away.
Totally worth the wait, Kat. Constantine is one of my favorite Keanu movies. I never get bored watching it.
It only took a few minutes into your reaction, to get me to like and subscribe. It was when he punched the demon during the exorcism. And immediately after you reenacted it again. You're freaking adorable, and I enjoyed your reaction to one of my favorite movies. You also gave me something new, I had never seen the end end scene after the credits. I wouldn't have seen it without you. Hopefully you know that A sequel to Constantine is coming out. I hope it has both Rachel and Keanu.
An underrated movie, one of my favorites.
Unlike your reaction which is never underrated, always awesome, and always one of my favorites.
I truly, whole heartedly, 100% need to see the 'GUM' scene at the start of every video as an opener if you will ;-) Kat you are so funny in personality and more so facial expressions, you make my evenings gal please keep doing what your doing!
these two have great chemistry acting together.. they are in another movie you might enjoy but doesn't fit into your horror movie category .. it is a fun action film called "Chain Reaction" ... fun plot and lots of action and yes the real horror was no kiss at the end
"I'm not even upset about it." 😂 me neither...you're entertaining af, lass.
Thanks, Kat! I love this movie....and your reactions so, good combo!
Finally lol. Great reaction Kat. Swiftly becoming one of my favorite horror reactors. Definitely top two
The band A Perfect Circle has a cameo in this film. You should listen to every song they've ever had cause they're awesome. ☮️
Maynard in general is awesome. Such a legend.
I love this movie, saw it several times and been wanting to watch it again, found your reactions made the movie even spicier for me. I will think of your reactions whenever I think or watch it again. :)
I love your reactions Kat, your little fists curl up and your so engaged in the film... 2 thumbs up!
Kat got seriously visually blue balled 😂
You must be a mind reader! I really like your channel and I was thinking I’d like to subscribe, but there’s just not enough Keanu Reeves. And then boom! You drop a reaction to Constantine. Congrats on one more subscriber.
So definitely Devil's Advocate next! And, Kat, you gotta do The Prophecy! "Holy Smokes, indeed!!!" 😆 🚬 👍 love the casting discoveries! Awesome reaction to roll into it blind!! 🎉 🌌 And Hellboy!
Absolutely love this movie and the concept. Really wish it was more popular when it came out!
*"American Gothic" (1988). Starring Yvonne de Carlo, from Vancouver, BC (Lily Munster). And "Teeth" (2007). Awesome revenge horror*
Oh my god!! I needed your reaction to this well hidden gem. And could I detect a certain "keanu-infatuation"? 😉😆 Never seen you make so many smooch-references and I loved it 🤣 Too bad you didn't get one, though 🤷🏽♂️
Thank you for this video
I don't believe in god and hate the realities of religion, but at the same time, I really like this movie. And as others have said, Peter Stormair plays one of the best devils ever.
Am I the only one that wants to see Kat watch more than horror movies? The horror reactions are great too but Im greedy so..
I want Kat to be cast in one or another horror movie herself, finally.
Seeing as she is an actress and such...
Yeah, I love the horror reactions but i would love if she branched out a bit occasionally. There are so many good movies!
I have thought the same. If I were to guess though, I'd say that if she ever were to respond to something like this, she'd say something along the lines of anything is possible, but in the mean time there are still a lot of horror movies to get through. I haven't seen her respond though and don't know her, so that's just a guess.
A second channel, "Kat Loves Movies" or something, would be nice, if she had the time and desire to do it. I'd definetly sub!
Hundred million percent agree
I'm glad you enjoyed this so much, it is one of my favorites. It has such a great cast, and is so well done in my opinion.
"I'm too upset to make a joke about there being a lot of free beef." And that's when I subscribed. lol 💖
I watched this once back in the day and I forgot how good it is. I'll have to add this to my movie marathon list that includes John Wick.
Iv been waiting for this one. Great reaction as usual.
Fun tricks up his sleeve indeed!
Especially when he rolls them up and compels Gabriel into the light!!
Such a great reaction to an amazing movie! 👏🏼
My girl is back! Awesome as always, Kat! You deliver!❤❤❤
So worth the wait. Absolutely loved your reactions to this video. An amazing film.
I woukdnt classify his as a "horror" movie. This is the fine line between comic book and "horror" kinda like Blade movies. Its a excellent comic book rendition. Constentine is DC comic book character. This movie is a lot of fun!
Action/horror.
@tremorsfan valid. Regardless I'm stoked she loved it and it was another great reaction.
Thanks Kat, this made my day 😊❤
LOL No Smoochie for you!!!😘 K got to admit, this was fun... You got a sub!
I *just* started watching your content a couple weeks back AND LOOK WHAT YOU'RE WATCHING NOW. RESPECT.
To see Kat so happy with Shia at the ending, was pretty special. Kat, you are the best!
I'm so glad this finally got through!
I appreciate how quickly you get to the reaction!
Yes! Best part of my day.
A great reaction, to a fantastic film.
THE LAST WITCH HUNTER, when you get a chance.
You’re awesome 😎
Keep it up 👍
I love how Kat always cheers for them to kiss/stay together/get in love. Such a sweetheart
"First Time Watching CONSTANTINE Reaction... holy smokes" I see what you did there. LOL
LOL I AM SO GLAD!!! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Constantine has always been one of the most badass movies I ever seen. Top in my favorites list ever since it came out.
Was waiting for this one!!! Bravo!!!!
A horror movie that probably not the well known but a good one is called "They" not to be confused with with "They Live" which happens a lot.
I adore this movie so much!
Thank you for uploading it today; it's my birthday.🎉❤
Happy B-Day! :)
@@zeer0squared Thank you.😃
Oh.. Happy birthday, dreamer.. 🥳🎂🥂
@@mikaelsgaard7109 Thanks so much! ☺️
WHAT!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DREAMER!!!! I hope you had a wonderful day!!! KAT:D
your reactions is AMAAAAZING GIRL hilarious ! ♥
Kat is back!!! 🔥🔥🎉😃
So glad I found your channel. I love this movie and I love your reaction to it. =)
Papa midnight has powerful 👍 and is ready to use them 🤣☠️
They were edging each other, lol.
Even though this movie's constantine is very different than the hellblazer's version, it was such a good performance that the movie character stands own his own.
Omg you’re hilarious 😆 the “real horror of this story” got me 😅
I love your look of total exasperation at the "NO KISS" ending. lmao
Gotta throw in an intermittent action scene to keep those who aren't into the narrative entertained 😅
This was always a fun one. Thank you, Kat.
No jokes about free beef is just one of many reasons I love this channel.
If only Marvel movies would learn something from these much better earlier "superhero" movies.
yep subbing.
#nopressure
Just found your channel, love your reactions. Funny and entertaining. Keep up the good work
I think the cows falling over is a pestilence, which would make the meat poisoned. Also insert "Where's the beef" reference LOL
Ur drop dead gorgeous and have such a playful fun personality. Love ur vibe and channel. Subbed
I've never heard anyone say "GUM!" with such joy. :D
You were so happy over the top cast Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz and Shia LaBeouf. Me on the other hand was happiest with Tilda Swinton and Peter Stormare. Praise be the different tastes!
God I love your reactions...love that you always check the end credits ❤❤❤❤❤
This one definitely gets a thumbs-up from me. I usually only reserve those for stuff that's (*ahem*) "worthy", not inane (albeit fun - damn fun sometimes) stuff like reaction videos. But I do make exceptions, because what would life be like without those, right?! :D
You've always delivered, on every one of your videos I've watched (you've seen way more horror movies than I have, so I skip anything I haven't seen myself), and this time you really delivered. Wow, the commentary was excellent this time, and funny. Really enjoyed that, and the gesturing and all the other stuff you bring. Super fun watching you watch one of my fav movies of all time (although I have A LOT of those - I don't rank stuff, I just put in buckets of arbitrary size - good, bad, terrible, awful beyond belief, GOAT, and so on.)
They don't smooch by the way because this movie goes against type.
I just found you. These videos are so wonderful, keep it up!
