man i wish this guide was available when i first started playing, touches on everything someone has to know to get started, fucking AMAZING guide my man
For so long I’d heard “F76 is actually good now” and “The community is really kind and respectful” Finally gave it a proper try and on my 1st day within 2 hours I was addicted to the loop and a guy waved me over and gave me a set of power armor. I’m low-key in love with this game. I don’t even miss using mods. It’s not good looking but it has a GREAT personality.
Really good to hear you are enjoying it for it's good parts. Whilst there are bugs and issues, this game is also incredibly complex and has so much going on all the time that things are bound to go wrong occassionally! The community is in general really amazing and most higher level players are super kind with this being kind of the focus to pay it forward. I agree that if only it could have a next gen overhaul of the graphics it would be incredible but there are still areas of it that still really stand up against many other games out there! I'm really happy to see that you have given it a shot and enjoying it and just remember have fun, that's all that really matters! 🙂
Brilliant guide, for new starters! Additionally, when at your first train station, look at the map on the wall and click each of the markers on it, as it will mark other train station locations on your map (greyed out) to make them easier to find as you explore Appalachia 😊
Thank you and a great tip that I completely forgot to mention!! Yes any maps that you find in train stations and other locations that have pins, click the pin and it will add the location to your map! Cheers!
Nice guide. An addition: you don't need to click the red workbench in a Workshop to claim it. Simply enter Building mode from anywhere in the Workshop. (This was changed because people would block the red workbench.)
Thank you for the great beginners guide. I just picked up FO76 after two years straight of RDR2. I’m looking forward to following your channel for more great beginner tips. Keep up the great work! 👍
Thank you, that's really kind, and I also completely love RDR2. I completed that as one of my first PS4 games, and it took me so long lol! I have a big list of useful guides I'm going to be making for FO76. I don't really do the news type videos and prefer to make concise and helpful guide videos but they take a fair bit of time and aren't exactly fast growing although I'm aiming for 1 per 1-2 weeks going forward
It's a really great game but will take a while to get into. Just have fun and try stuff out - check out my early armour guide too as this will help early on. Also massive update tomorrow to the game so good timing!
@@GoldenGek I’m liking your content for this game. New subscriber here so I’ll be watching more of your content as I start my play through. Can’t wait to get off work!
@@I_Negan_I awesome to hear and thank you for the lovely comment! Hope you got off toa good start in the game 🙂Just remember take your time and enjoy it, there is no rush so just have fun!
Thank you, I really appreciate the positive comment :-) Yes, it's something that I also wish I'd known earlier too, along with many other bits of info!! This game is very fun but also very complex!
I like to park outside of the exit shed of Glass Cave. I can run glass cave and loot everything without worry as my bunker is 15 steps outside of the exit. Only downside is the area gets nuked constantly.
yes that is a rather hazardous spot for a base although handy for farming but hope you have a second base backup you can hop to if things get a little toasty!
Useful advice he didn't mention: changing your stats doesn't allow you to change perk cards you invested in. Fallout 76 sucks with how they handle changing builds. Keep that in mind. So if someone tells you oh no don't restart just keep going to level 50+ eventually you'll even out your character (it's true but if your struggling and needing crucial perk cards for your build) ignore their advice and start your character completely over it'll be less of a headache in the long run.
Thanks for the comment but I am unsure what you mean. At the punch card machine you can change all your SPECIAL stats AND change out all the perk cards?? You can build up to 5 (I think - might be more as increased recently) different builds that can be named and easily switched between in a few clicks. If you mean you can't pick different perk cards, then no, you would have to level up in order to choose more but that is due to the way in which the perk cards are randomly given on the level ups. However, you get 4 cards per perk card pack obtained at different levels, these are also available from the season rewards throughout and also you get an additional perk card choice at each level up so you should be in a position to pretty much get the cards you need the majority of the time. Legendary perk cards are different and IMO are kind of broken as once you choose which ones you want (fully unlocked at level 300) they remain the same for each build which doesn't make sense as to why we can't also have different legendary perk cards for each different build.
@@GoldenGek you basically answered your own question. But yes you cant re-select your perk cards that you chose while leveling up which in my opinion is kinda dumb. So telling new players about the option to switch builds like most youtubers do kinda give them a false understanding of what it means to switch builds. Switching builds is only useful for high levels who have have tons of extra perk cards already. Basically what I was saying is if a brand new player was under level 50 and for whatever reason was struggling to kill enemies it's best to just make a new character. Most day one players always say just keep pushing on it'll get better but it's usually not the case if you seriously messed up which perk cards you invested in. The Game would be a lot less enjoyable if they continued on until they were able to fix said build a lot of times it's easier for them to just start over rather than just carry on with the character they're struggling with. That's just my opinion to each their own tho
@@MTi-xm4ek a player under level 50 who struggling to kill monsters should just make another character? That doesn't sound like solid advice or either a game that I want to play if that's the case
Thanks for the lovely comment. The issue is only so many people get to see my guides as I'm still such a small channel. Unfortunately there are still a lot of large channels who make less helpful but very eye catching and clicky content 😬🙄
@GoldenGek well, some people out there actively avoid algorithmic flash and search for quality instead. I leave comments on good videos to help boost better content. Whoever comes across this video as a new player is in luck. I still have the first 4 character I started when I had no clue how the perks system worked in 76 🤣. At the time it was only people shouting about how 'op' their builds were but never explained a single thing about how perk cards worked.
Is it just me, cause I think I'm goiing crazy. Following the steps for the route, but getting stuck at the beginning already. No bonfire to be found. And if I go further then I get to the little tower thingy with the bed, which is way down the hill.
Hi yeah you have gone too far. The bonfire is about 100 meters down the hill from the enterance to Valut 76. If you just follow the dirt path that goes around the rhs of the vault (when facing the vault) this will lead you down to it. Bear in mind the bonfire is not lit so it's just a bonfire shape pile of sticks.
Thank you :-) I rename items S for Scrip so I know which legendary items I don't want and can scrip at the Legendary exchange machines. It is also a good idea to rename the items you want to keep and also apply a paint / skin as then this prevents you from scrapping them by accident
It's a very good question. Personally if you have never played before I would start at the beginning so you can learn the combat etc. I would suggest to follow the route I have done in this video before you start the main story as then you will already have a good base location, easy access to a workshop for xp, junk and plans as rewards and also near a legendary farming spot for the Leader of the Pack event. I would say that the level 20 start is better if you have played before and just want to jump start a new character. 🙂
I know I answered this in stream but if you switch server then you will have a chance for it to spawn. Ensure you log out of the server for a few minutes though so it doesn't auto reload you onto the same server.
@@GoldenGek lmao I quit a little bit ago, I got to level 90 with an overpowered heavy gun pa build with hellcat and the game just got boring and repetitive, but loved it while it lasted. Top 10 game for me
without the background music I find my voice sounds pretty bad on it's own but having said that for some reason the background music seems to have encoded much louder than it should have been. However, it should sync with the tempo of the video and my voice. Apologies if you do not like it though and thanks for the comment as feedback is always important! 👍
