I prefer American accent, but I think it’s very interesting to know British English. I used to know American.

Both of them will definitely help you get better at connecting words and making natural-sounding sentences in English. Reading text will help you remember and say specific sentences faster. Talking out loud to yourself will help you organise your thoughts in English and help you understand what's missing in your vocabulary!
