We will prepare a review study pack full of extra activities and content based on the episodes of season 1 (there will be more details about that very soon) and then we will start looking at Season 2 😀
What a wise choice that you both wonderful teachers together teach through these amazing episodes .not only makes the videos so interesting but also so useful.
Both of you're great, brilliant and that said, let's enjoy another speech for a zest of vocabulary, idioms and so on.. I'm on heavens each time I discover a new video😊
This channel is so useful that you will improve your English by listening. Thank you very much for your time and effort. I look forward to other episodes.
I am stan of your channel , the way you both express , elaborate natural phrasal verbs , idioms, and so on are up to the mark for non-speakers, keep the wheel running
Thanks for the video. It was just another excellent video. I liked the topic you tackled. For my holiday, Whenever I have a holiday I stay at home most of the time; I cook and do housework. And rarely I go on a picnic with my family where we make barbecue, we play, we say jokes and we have some fun
My recent trip was absolute fantastic. I wish i was still there. Thay said, we got off a big of a rough start at the airport. So it started with a bit of drama , our flight was delayed due to some unexpected maintenance issues. But once we finally took off, it was smooth sailing from there.we had a packed schedule . But the highlight was definitely the guided city tour.we went on some historical walking tours, river cruises, double -deckers bus and Chinese restaurant, which was a blast. Most days were spent loungbu the beach or on the pool . We did have a small hiccup with our hotel room. The AC wasn't working. but they sorted that out pretty quickly and the rest of the stay was perfect. SO OVERALL, it was a really lovely holiday. It was just what we needed.
Thank you so much Kat and Mark teachers :) I learned some useful and advanced vocabulary today too. I feel so blessed to access this wonderful content❤
I really enjoy watching this channel, this lesson was amazing, jaja please let him talk more 😅 or well i felt he couldn't talk so much in this episode but I said, was amazing ❤ thank you so much
Hi I had a holiday to the Maldives islands a couple of years ago. The trip was smooth sailing; that said, there were a few hiccups in terms of the return flight date, as we had to reschedule it because of an unexpected maintenance issue, I think. But overall, the trip was brilliant. We tried our hands at cooking some of the local cuisines , which was really great, I'd say."
My last vacation was amazing, I was in Thailand. The trip was packed with a lot of places to visit such as temples, floating market or activities such as boat ride. I also enjoyed the Thai food which is delicious. That said, I make an exception for the insects, I've never been able to taste them! Except this minor hiccup it was a wonderful tour.
Wow - sounds like a great trip packed with fun things! I (Mark) have tried the fried insects and they are an "acquired taste" (this is a polite phrase to mean it tastes bad). Where exactly in Thailand did you visit?
I visited Bangkok with a boat ride through the klongs, Ayutthaya the historical capital, Kanchanabury with a ride on the train of the death, Chang mai with the monk ceremony. We also spent some days in the south with a full day boat trip where I discovered James Bond Island@@highlevellistening
I"d like to share my experience of my first journey during my time at University. I bet, you never guess which country it was. Mongolia! It was kind of weird trip. I fell short of my expectations. If you're expecting stunning views while traveling to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, you might be disappointed. From the train window, all you see are sand dunes and swirling winds. Despite that, our ten days were packed with memorable experiences. The highlight was definitely the guided city tour. The local guides were amazing and really brought the city's history to life. We visited numerous historical buildings, including some temples, and tried traditional Mongolian food for the first time, including dishes made from horse milk. Personally, I found the smell and taste revolting, definitely not something I enjoyed. A bit of drama was that we always were having red eyes due to constant sand and winds. That said, the vacation overall went quite well.
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing such a detailed story! Sorry to hear that Mongolia was a little underwhelming - at least you can check it off your bucket list and say you drank some horse milk! I know a few people who have taken the Trans-Siberian express, and they were also a little tired of the view by the end (apart from Lake Baikal and some other parts of Russia). Hopefully your next vacation is more relaxing and exciting :)
Thanks for the video. One thing I consider also important to me, beside the different words/expressions between UK-US, is the difference in pronunciation, which make me a bit more comfortable with my pronunciation. For example you two pronounce maintenance very different.
Yes, absolutely! It can be difficult to hear the difference with one speaker, we completely understand, thank you for your feedback and interesting points!
Hi, In this episode, Mark said businesses will close. Offices will be closed. My question is: Are both active and passive voices for “close” here ok? I usually see the sign on the storefront says “closed.” Thank you very much.
Hi there! Great question! In the sentences you mentioned, I didn't actually use the Passive Voice. In the sentence: "Offices will be closed." 'Closed' is an adjective. For example: "The office will be + [open] on Monday at 9." or "The offices will be + [brand new.]" Lots of students find it tricky though, because the 3rd form (past participle) of "close" is the same word as the adjective: *[close - closed - *closed* ]*. *And* it's tricky because you *can* hear and see this verb in the passive voice often. Remember that with the passive voice, another agent (thing / person) is acting on the store / office / building. For example: - "The roads [were closed] + [by the police]." Maybe there was an accident, a crime or a fire, so the police closed the road to traffic. - "The restaurant [was closed] + [by the health authorities]." Maybe there were rats in the kitchen! So the health authorities told the restaurant to close. The restaurant owner did not close it like their usual schedule. I hope that makes sense! (Mark)
Hi good morning! In our classes, we really make sure to use commonly spoken English conversation. We try to focus on vocabulary that you would hear in real life with native speakers, it ranges from informal to friendly, but it is always acceptable and never rude or impolite. We hope you continue to enjoy the lessons!

hi ,kate and Marrk .Good Morning in this episode Kate's utterance "COURGETTES and AUBERGINES" is confusing to me to understand ,outwardly ,these are the names of two vegetable but what did kat mean ? pls waiting for response .......
These are French vocabulary that British English uses instead of American English has chosen zucchini and eggplant, just a funny example of how the British continue to use French words despite the competition between England and France 😄
I didn't understand well why use "which " only and not "that" to express opinion in a second clause. Especially because Kat seems to get surprised. Is that a rule or just a way to speak? In my language, doesn't matter if you use "which" or "that" in these cases
Hi Mark, when you pronounced "spa appointment", it sounded like "spar appointment". I hear this often in the 'Peppa Pig' show. They say "Peppa and George" and it sounds "Peppar and George". Your thoughts?

Hi Mark, when you pronounced "spa appointment", it sounded like "spar appointment". I hear this often in the 'Peppa Pig' show. They say "Peppa and George" and it sounds "Peppar and George". Your thoughts?
Haha it's true! The British accent has something called a "non-Rhotic" letter 'R'. This means the letter is basically pronounced as the sound: "ah." British accents (in the southern parts especially) also like to use the long 'A' vowel sound.
So this combination means "spa" sounds like 'sparr'
Or "Pa" (dad) sounds like "Parr"
Or "Ma" (mum) sounds like "Marr"
Peppa Pig has a southern English accent too (as far as I know), so she's following this rule!
