Hello. I'm from Gdańsk, Poland. I'm 71 years old and English is my hobby. Thank you both for your lesson. In Poland "everybody is a doctor" . Once o month me and my friends meet at the restaurant just to socialize and we often talk about illneses though we don't like it. And although we ask each other not to talk about it we often end up realizing that we again talk about our health. I suppose it is because of our age. But we laugh at ourselves and change the topic. In Poland when somebody is ill they receive a.lot sympathy and of course a lot of advice how to get better as "we are all doctors" having a prescription for every illness😂All the best for both of you ❤
I came to this channel to learn English. Somehow I read your comment it was such a nice feeling to know about people from different countries, Thank you for sharing with us 😅😄
This morning talking to my friend in my native language i suddenly realized that as a foreign language learner i'll never be able to express my ideas as brightly and vividly in my target language as in my mother tongue. But listening to your videos i have regained some hope
I'm glad we helped you feel more optimistic 😊 You are right though, your native language will always have the strongest emotional connection and feel the most "effortless", but I also really like finding all the new phrases and expressions that don't exist in English, so in that way I feel like I can express more things than ever before! From one of my Russian students I heard a Russian (?) idiom like "all cats are white". They told me it meant "don't assume everything everything the same every time". I think that one is awesome and I wish we had it in English! 😀
first thanks again for both of you.i really like to watch your podcast. i try to recite the script that i watched every time. i don't know if that's can help me to improve my english talking about home remedies .if we are on the verge of catching a cold.we usually use some ginger and coke or ginger leeks some water .such kind of ingredients boil them about 15 minutes. then you drink it when it 's hot . then you lay in bed cover with a heavy quilt. until you sweat. after all you will feel getting back to feet
Thank you so much for joining us in our class! I love ginger, especially boiled in a drink. I hope the next time you are on the verge of getting sick, your remedies help right away! Have a lovely day.
Last night I found ur channel, and I am very glad to be ur student. Basically I m from Afghanistan and I m an intermediate level english student here in Afghanistan .🎉❤
Hi Mark and Kat, I hope you both are doing great! I just completed watching this episode. The topic you covered was incredibly important. As always I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Some things were new to me, though I managed to guess a few correctly :) Here's the list - 1. I'm coming down with something - I'm starting to feel unwell. 2. I'm on the verge of getting sick - I'm starting to feel unwell. 3. Tackle it head-on - Face the problem directly and quickly. 4. Nip it in the bud - Similar to the 'Tackle it head on'. 5. A 24-hour bug - A short-term, non-serious illness. 6. Over-the-counter stuff - Medicines that don't require a doctor's prescription. 7. Knock the problem on its head - Stop the problem using some kind of force. 8. Slowly but surely - Gradually, bit by bit, little by little. 9. Bedridden - The most sick, The sickest part, Too sick to get out of bed. I'm very much grateful to both of you, my teachers, Mark and Kat 😊
I've been down with something and a bit off for 2 days ,however, I've tried to tackle it head on through popping some bills and forcing myself to follow my exercise routine 😊 Slowly but surely, it seems to work out ,I think it's a 48 hour bug 😅Now I'm back on my feet , I'm grabbing my favorite coffee. High level Podcasters 💯 👌 you Rock ,guys ❤❤❤❤❤❤
If all english speakers talk like this, then I think it's easy for everybody to comprehend. I understand everything in this kind of pace. Thank you for your time making these videos to help non native learn your language.. Love from the PH..
