He wrote this song based on a hypothetical situation. When asked what this song was about "Tuomas has said about this song, that it's about if he were to die tomorrow, what would he want to say to everyone that he loves, and that love him..." Notice the small boy on the screen reaching out to the flying swans on the screen. The swan is the psychopomp or guide to the afterlife in Finnish mythology. He is reaching out to implore them to take him with to the other side. A beautiful song filled with sadness from an unfulfilled destiny. One of my favorites. Loved it! The success of Nightwish ended Tuomas' childhood...hence the dead boy...
Great track selection. The talent to convey emotions on display here is staggering. The thing about Nightwish is their ability to generate an endless stream of beautiful music, and it never ends. If he continues his current voyage, Tuomas is destined to go down in history as one of the greatest song-makers (his phrase) ever. And Floor...well, she's Floor Jansen! Losing Marko was heartbreaking for Nightwish fans. This would not be so if his contributions were not so impressive. But alas, the current lineup is still killing it...and next summer we get a new album. Live long and prosper Nightwish 🖖
Nightwish truly is special. I've been a fan of theirs since 1996. When Sami, Tarja and Annette were cut from the band, I remained loyal to their beautiful talents. When Jukka and Marko left the band, I still stayed loyal, even though Marko's departure truly shocked and hurt. I look forward to their new material.

Almost every artist that I have known has felt misunderstood and lonely at times in their lives...including myself. You're in good company....Every time I listen to this song, I get tears falling off my cheeks, and I am 65 years old!!

This one is always a favorite for me. I really like the original with Tarja, and this version from the Decades tour is just amazing. Looking at your Nightwish journey, you've been doing a lot of targeted picks. I can see some Helsinki 2005, Wacken 2013, Wembley 2015, and now Buenos Aires 2018 in there. From the most reacted to concerts you're still missing Tampere 2015 completely, however seeing as you already did The Greatest Show On Earth then I'd instead suggest Weak Fantasy as a highlight from the Tampere 2015 concert, because it's an overall amazing song, and also The Islander as another alternative if you want to see Marco doing the lead vocals and Floor being the backup singer.
