I'm a huge fan of Alanis Morissette's *Jagged Little Pill* album - and this song. But I think The Warning outdid her here! Dany NAILED the vocal, AND Dave Navarro's guitar part. Ale killed the jazzy bass lines originally played by Flea. Pau slayed the drums, played on tour by the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters (The Warning OPENED for the Foo Fighters about ten days before Taylor Hawkins' death). This is brilliant work. They ALL stand out on this for their tastefulness, restraint where appropriate, and bombast where appropriate. I give it an 11/10.
Happy birthday! Dany steals the spotlight here for me but Ale is a very close second, she crushes this bassline so casually that she's probably thinking about what to have for dinner as well!
Like Ale and Pau have said, they spent countless hours developing their ability to play totally in sync on every song. Pau said she even practiced while staring at Ale's fingers on the base. You can see Pau, especially on the verses, dancing behind the kit to Ale's base lines. Amazing.
I think this song fits perfectly into The Warning to be sung because of the power of Dany's voice and the clean sound of her instruments. Special mention: Ale Bass makes it sound phenomenal!
Listened to the original earlier today, and I gotta say, Pau and Ale were definitely not losing anything to Taylor Hawkins or Flea on this. Dany's voice felt more polished and angry than Alanis', and I honestly like Dany's voice better. Can't wait to see your reaction to FTF!
Dany did such an amazing job here! Ali Bass lines were excellent. Pau was just chilling, but what Pau did with brushes was next level. They owned this cover Big Time...
Queens of Rock. It's not their genre and they nailed it. They do listen to different types of music and genres and we see their experience in their covers. Great reaction to an epic song of it's time, the clean up was a nice touch. Wow.
I'm 65, and If there was ever a reason that I wanted to be 25 years younger, it's The Warning... I would love to still be around when they are being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame !
Jesus Christ dude! I was just thinking this the other day. I’m old enough that I might not get to see the heights they reach. And that bums me out, hardcore.
Happy Birthday Deadgirl!! Yes this is really a perfect song for them to have done. Dany absolutely nails it, Ale's bass sounded spot on perfect and Pau was looking like the coolest thing on earth. And just to let you know, they played this at a charity event connected to the EMAs and they did drop the F-bomb. 😇😇😇 I think Sirius wanted the clean version.
I assume they used the original theater lyric as well, then. There was a lot of chatter over the "clean" lyrics. I'm sure they had their reasons. These ladies are not sheltered, innocent babes, but they aren't routinely foul mouthed either. I'm sure they consider and choose lyrics carefully.
Honestly we need a rule for this song like the *_No Play Smoke On The Water!_* rule in music stores; *_Only Girls May Sing You Oughta Know!._* Love your TW ⚡⚡⚡reactions!🥰
As always, what a great reaction. I know you love Metaluca, so it's time for you to react to the Warning's cover of Metalica's Atlas Rise. You will not be sorry. I can not wait to see you react to this rocking cover. Don't forget how young they were in this performance. I believe they were 13, 15, and 18. Thank you, Charlie
Supper? Grilled salmon. I didn't know Alanis' original, although I listened to it since The Warning's cover came out. My first impression is The Warning nailed "You Oughta Know", no matter how the original sounded. Dany was in full "woman scorned" mode. Powerful. I've also been made aware that Ale's bass playing is top notch, worthy of Flea's, the original bassist. Seems justified to me. And Pau just chillin' back there. Did you notice she used snare brushes a couple times? They are all so skilled in their art. Looking forward to your reaction to Freeze the Fall's "VHS".
If anyone is going to cover this song they better kill it and The Warning did just that. These women are fierce. Dany slayed the vocals and the guitar at the same time. Pau laid down the perfect beat behind her sunglasses and Allie, playing those great Flea bass lines so effortlessly sitting down no less. OK DG, the icing on your birthday cake would be the Warning London SOFAR unplugged version of BURNOUT. This band is HOT!
Happy belated Birthday! I mean... Dany... Good lord. 2:37 I love how your eyebrows subconsciously mimicked hers when she got that "I'm pissed and I'm talking to an absolute moron" look (My wife does that to me once in a while 😐) Pau and Ale could walk down Bourbon Street in New Orleans, step into any bar, and jam all night with any live band that may be playing. Paraphrasing what someone once said in comments to another reactor, Ale sitting there casually killing Flea's bass line while she's thinking about what she wants for dinner.
Maybe not better than Alanis -- I mean, come on... Jagged Little Pill was a masterpiece of composition and execution -- but the sisters did it 100% justice! 🤘Thx, Deaddrl!

Best comment.

Thank you. Yes Las Wawas killed this one. 🤘⚡🔥⚠🔥⚡🤘
Yep. Not this one! One more to add the Warning catalogue. They own this song too like Enter Sandman, Pretender, Atlas Rise, etc
Dany just gets better and better. Pau rockin with sunglasses indoors just chillin. Ale PLAYS that bass

Happy birthday. I'm sure that was a nice present. Nice addition with the clips from the Office - hilarious! 🙂
These young ladies are just incredible . They are coming to SwedenRock next year. Thats awsome. Great reaction. Cheers from a finn in Sweden ❤🎉
Love watching you react to these amazing ladies! So much fun!
Keep up the great work, my dear.

Can't wait to see your reaction to FTF!
Ale's sound is less Fuzzy than Flea's, the cleaner snaps sold it for me 🎯⚡⚡⚡💖
The music has always been there in that song though, ngl
✌️💖🎼🎶
Dany did such an amazing job here! Ali Bass lines were excellent. Pau was just chilling, but what Pau did with brushes was next level. They owned this cover Big Time...
You are an AWESOME lady! ...Having a couple of delicious tacos and a hot tea for this chilly night. Cheers from Mexico.

Pau mentioned in an interview that this was her favourite breakup song.
@davep5788 only her second? Didn't know that. TY
Hi. Good to see you again. These young ladies are really brilliant.. 🌎✌️
The Queen's 👑 of Rock is keeping us Fed 🤘⚡🤘
the Queens of the covers !
The Warning make me want to live until at least my late 80's, so I can hear every song the create into their 40's.
I have been thinking the same thing. When I turn 80, Ale would turn 40 that same year. That's 2044.
The Warning giving people a reason to live since 2013.
Just so good, so just another day for DPA.
I really look forward to Freeze The Fall- VHS you're gonna love it.
Las señoritas Villarreal did it again!!!❤

I believe that charity event was in Miami, connected to the Latin Grammys.

@ absolutely
They crushed it...of course.
Knew you'd like it.
Y Ale. Alejandra estuvo monumental.

I love when The Warning step outside of their normal style! They killed this one!
You are the only one that picked up on the bass in the first verse. Very impressive. I've seen almost all the reactions so far, too!
Awesome performance as usual! 🤘🤘⚡⚡⚡
Powerful rendition. 🤘😆🤘👏👏👏👏

The Warning es simplemente el mejor trío de rock del planeta ,sus covers son tan buenos que superan a los temas originales
Dany is perfect!
Supper? Grilled salmon.

Loved your reaction and energy! Your relief at the PG word swap... 😅 Fun!
Haapy birthday!
Knew you’d like this one. I grew up with Alanis’ music, but Dany sang this like she wrote it.
Seeing Ale playing the Flea part makes me want them to cover a RHCP song
🤘⚡️🤘
I'm surprised you made it through this one without tears! 😄😄
I really love how Dany dug in deep and made me feel that somewhere a man suddenly exploded in his kitchen...
