Being a fan of this band is almost addictive. Well, not "almost" :-) This small documentary shows, in some way, the extraordinary nature of their history, their personalities, their context... All of this makes it exciting to follow not only their magnificent music but themselves and their team. It just puts a smile in my face to be witnessing their evolution, year after year. Amazing human beings.
IKR? We kind of expect tears from Pau; she's quite open about "crying it out" as a coping mechanism. But nobody wants to see Ale cry, and it's even harder watching Dany "ray of sunshine" tear up. I always find this video hard to take, and yet... it's worth it, for their thoughts and feelings so openly expressed.
It's like they wrote Revenant (the song playing in the background) just for this purpose. Got to hand it to the genius who assembled this video from all those clips plus the interview footage. I think it's the same guy (Ivan) who puts together the aftershow and behind the scenes videos. That guy is definitely talented.
Their childhood/teens was basically cut in half in order to star working on their dream. They have dedicated everything to the band. Is an enormous sacrifice (from everybody on their team) to get to where they are. They are grateful for this live, but it hasn't come without leaving part of themselves on the road. They have talked about never having the opportunity of learning how to ride a bike. 🥺
That look on Dany’s face when asked about the price is haunting. I know they go on to talk about how it’s all worth it and they wouldn’t want to do anything else, especially since they all get to do it together. Still… oof.
She still knows that girl, and it's amazing to see her relate to her past self. If anyone can do that in front of a camera, it's Dany, and you could see even she could almost not handle it. Little Dany shredding out, trying to be the 'good daughter' and also take care of her sisters. It was a lot. But she did it, and she did it well, fair or not. Still, little Dany needs a hug and a day off, I mean really!
The Warning began practicing together as a band soon after Alejandra began her bass lessons, sometime in 2012. They didn't have a band name yet, that would happen in 2013. Dany and Pau had already been taking lessons on their instruments beginning in 2008. They were the ones who became obsessed with the Rock Band video game, which was released in late November of 2007. Ale was about to celebrate her 3rd birthday and would not begin her piano lessons for another year or so. Shortly after Paulina began drum lessons their father Luis built a practice studio in the basement of their home. This would later become known as The Warning Cave. In order to afford the cost of continued lessons, instruments, and equipment Luis had sold off his vintage Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The very first video of them playing together was from the 2012 school Christmas Festival. In December 2013 a group of videos was posted featuring The Warning playing complete songs, apparently at home in their driveway in front of the garage. Those songs included Born This Way (Lady Gaga), Roar (Katy Perry), Hysteria (Muse), and Sweet Child O Mine (Guns n' Roses). Soon after that they posted We're Not Gonna Take It (Twisted Sister) recorded in The Warning Cave. By the end of January 2014 they had Back In Black (AC/DC) covered. Pau appeared in the April 2014 edition of Tom Tom Magazine, which is dedicated to female drummers. In late May of 2014 The Warning played at Nachos & Gangas, a Monterrey restaurant/nightclub. One of the songs played was Enter Sandman. A video was made, but the sound quality is not good. Enter Sandman, recorded in The Warning Cave, was posted on July 7, 2014. This is often considered the "beginning" of The Warning, since it has become famous. But even before this The Warning was working toward being a professional band. I suspect that the attention this video generated simply confirmed that path and indicated that success was within reach. That Enter Sandman video generated attracted music/entertainment industry attention, and they began getting contract offers. I think the fact that they resisted these offers shows admirable restraint and caution. Papa Luis had operated a recording studio before raising a family, and he knew enough about the industry to be wary. Despite this he fully supported the choice of his daughters to become musicians. He knew what pros used and made sure his girls got what they needed. He did what he could to maximize their chance of success.
They played this at the intermission of their 10th anniversary shows in Mexico last fall (the third of those shows being the Pepsi Center performance with the live videos). Very touching. Both from the cost, but also the unique opportunity to share all that with their family.
@@The3dikson I’m a 69 year old man that is tearing up watching Dany about to cry. I know they have sacrificed so much, I can only say thank you for the sacrifice. I hope they know how much their music means to us fans❤. Much love to The Warning.❤❤❤❤
@@renemonroy214 Absolutely. I always kind of hated the Jackson's parents - a classic example of "living vicariously through your children". Lois and Mona were precisely the opposite, working very hard to ensure their kids stayed grounded, kept up with their education, and so forth. Makes all the difference in the world.
When Dany says, "The Price?" and the look on her face... you know that there has been a price. Can you imagine if they didn't have the love and support of their Family, Team and Fans...
I learned it being maybe 2-3 years younger than Ale is now. Then did not ride a bicycle for more than 10 year. I was surprised I could still do that and started to ride regularly. So I think the sisters are not too old for that, either.
I believe one reason they are so humble and level headed is the fact that they did not sign with a label when they went viral. They stayed independent for several years. Disney tried to sign them but wanted to turn them into a pop band.
Great reaction AR...10 years of their life of hard work, not a normal life for young girls at all. Yet, here they are 10 years later and one of the greatest Rock Bands in many Decades...their dreams did come true....tears watching this though.
I think the fact that she was the older to learn her instrument while being the older as well gave her a different perspective, she was the one who struggled the most about knowing what she was missing in the normal world. But nowadays she is really comfortable and became the face and heart of The Warning.
She gave a response. It wasn't words though. She knows. She knows she doesn't know what her life could have been if different. She said that in her 'response'.
The song in the background is called "Revenant" and is from their third album "ERROR" There is a very good version of it in the Metropolitan CDMX concert from 2022 where they sit on chairs and play it acoustically. These sisters all where borne with their heads screwed on right and all the cables connected and they had the parents who recognized it and nurtured them.
So glad they have each other to lean on, I know they have their parents and crew, but I think it’s that special sister bond that is the foundation of strength needed to steady the chaos of their career. Rock on sisters 🤘⚡️🤘
The song you were hearing was Revenant from the Error album. If you've not seen them do it live you might check out the teatro metro version. It's amazing.
What I think helps them through the usual pitfalls that plague most young artists is their upbringing. Their parents raised some level headed, well grounded girls. You add to that they have been graced with very ethical management. I can tell you for a fact good management that considers the needs and future wellbeing of the artist over money is not easy to come by.
It's mind-boggling to me how so many people don't know and understand that, in this context, 'X' is the Roman numeral for the number 10 and means '10th'. What? They don't teach Roman numerals in elementary school any more?
Everything has a price. Their passion for music dictated the direction they went. Their parents supported and protected them the best they could. It is all paying off now, and they love being able to do what they do. But they are also well aware of the things they sacrificed. They still have friends with 'normal' lives. They see what their friends got to do and are doing and are fully aware that they closed the door on some of those things with the choices they made. Thankfully they have each other to talk to. Someone that is in the same shoes, that understands.
The difference between The Warning and Justin Beiber is that the ladies have family around them and were protected. Unfortunately, Justin was not protected and considering all he went through- especially with predators like Diddy- he made it.
"We're going to have a world famous rock/hard rock band and tour the globe with our parents"... said no band...EVER. I thinks that's their secret hidden in plain sight. You never really enter a new world, the world of "the industry", because YOUR world isn't left behind, it's always with you. Makes it easier to remember who you are. Kids my age started a band to rebel against their parents. I just think this is unrepeatable.

The Villarreal sisters did NOT give up their childhood.. it was different. They were living a fantasy, something other children dream of. What they did give up and miss out on was childish things with other children. They did and probably still do, manage to be silly and irreverent.. just look back to the Dani day, Pau day and Ale days from the lockdown years. Goofy Dani in her onesie, Pau holding her variety show.. and Ale trying and failing to be the grown up when her sisters are goofing off
Almost teared up?? But you were right when you said the part about family. Justin Bieber ended up with P Diddy who groomed him. The Warning girls had loving, down to earth parents, devoted management and tour/stage crew all who looked out for them for the last 10 years. Yes, they lost a lot of their childhood, Ale more than Pau and Dany. When asked What do they regret missing in their lives, the conversation went to "Never learning to ride a bike." Sure they missed out on a lot, but they are now caring, loving, humble, devoted, well-rounded adults.
❤️⚡😭 it is a tear jerker. They gave up a normal childhood. Thank goodness for family (which is normally the opposite in show business). They supported them in the right way and it shows, but they have regrets, like we all do. They are beautiful human beings. I wish them happiness in the end. Success is a fickle beast, but happiness is something only you can achieve.
If ever a band was equipped to handle success without losing their souls, it’s these three extraordinary sisters!
Besides being rock stars these sisters are smart, humble, funny and the nicest people on earth!!
Viva The Warning!! ⚡⚡⚡

He also did the Teatro and Pepsi shows. Directed the Keep Me Fed OMV's (co-direct QMQ with Pau) Not sure about the Error OMV's, but wouldn't doubt it.
Yes, Revenant is a great choice for this. By the way, the more I read its lyrics the more I got convinced that it is actually a prayer.

The song is Revenant from "Error". There is a great live version from Teatro Metropolitan.

Great summation.
Thank you.
From the very beginning of playing piano and forward, someone was smart enough to record everything and we appreciate it.
That someone was Luis, their father.

OMG, when they ask "what was the price?" and Dany sighs, tears up, and repeats "The price?". 😥😥
Definitely the price of their childhood, but they have lived it as if they were their toys... beyond their sacrifice, they are enjoying its fruits.

The Warning and Michael Jackson couldn't be more worlds apart from how their childhood was like.
The difference was their parents in my humble opinion.

♥ these chikas!
The price of a 10 year old band at 23? Dany's lack of response says so much.
