Alec Baldwin appeared visibly emotionally in court Friday as a New Mexico judge dismissed his "Rust" case with prejudice on day three of the manslaughter trial.

Why are live rounds even on the set. There is no need for shooting live rounds at each other for the filming of a movie.
We use digital gun shots now, of course Baldwin used a non union crew and used 1936 set technology to save money, yet it cost a woman's life
I could never understand that, either.
It's a damned if you do damned if you dont problem.
A 'real' handgun or rifle loaded with blanks has no recoil or movement at all. If there is a scene where you are shooting but there is nobody downrange (IE for effects) you can load live rounds under those controlled moments. That way the footage looks perfect.
There are ways to build some guns that 'recoil', but it's not easy.
The solution in movies is to have a skilled armorer. Those people are the most important to check on.
@@Greylocks ok but shouldn't you be pointing it at people only when your filming and only at other actors not random members of the production team whom play no role in the actual screen time footage of the movie it's not like the crow an actor got killed it was a member of the production team who had nothing to do with being filmed
@@Greylocks why are you pointing the gun that people off the camera when no one's filming that's pretty irresponsible though and childish
He should have never been charged in the first place. It was a film prop and the armorer fatally failed both the director and the actor by supplying a lethal non-prop.
Why real bullets would ever be on a film set is beyond me
@@sirdiealot53 why Baldwin is even on a film set is beyond me
…don’t forget he’s an Actor…
And?
Sickening.
You gonna elaborate?
WHY?
He’s just an actor/producer. Some armorer or somebody else responsible for the technical handling of props. Not a Baldwin fan, but a manslaughter charge was crazy!
100%
You serious? He REFUSED to do every safety check, he was irresponsibly aiming a REAL firearm at people, even blanks can unalive someone. He is just as responsible as the armorer.
@@johncostello6006 BS.
@@fosbury68 sure it is bud
No one is above the law unless... you are loaded and famous. Disgusting.
An Armorer is in charge on set in all movies and she went to jail already.
It wasn't his fault, why are you blaming Alec? He believed, as he SHOULD HAVE, that the gun he was holding was either a prop or unloaded. It was not his responsibility to check.
I have disliked this man long before this ever happened and am sad to say this has nothing to do with his money and everything to do with the ineptness of the prosecution.
Not just in this case either.
The only thing that helped him was having the eyes of the public and a judge that chose to uphold our constitution.
You don't know the whole story do you? You are part of the problem in this world xD but you're not too wrong though. 😂
Just like dRump!?
The second the judge ruled, she then ran to cash that personal cheque just as fast as she could go. (IMHO of course).
Terrible...Terrible that Mrs. Hutchins was killed...Terrible someone wasn't paying attention to safety on that set...terrible this has dragged on so long. Like someone else said I'm no big fan of Mr.Baldwin but he's human and this has been a nightmare I'm sure. I know he's relieved. Maybe it's retirement time for him. I quit watching anything he was in,long while ago . Terrible for everyone that had their lives disrupted because of all this and time they'll never get back dealing with it.
Idk what people in the comments are smoking. It doesn't matter what you think of Alec Baldwin, it was always insane to blame him rather than the armorer or producer who handled it before he got it.
Homeboy joins the ranks of OJ Simpson and Robert Blake...
You know that is foolish ,both of those cases had deliberate murders, one on one ,Baldwin was not responsible for the fact 2 people said that gun was safe..it's normal in filming for those people to check the bullets in the prop gun before handing it to the actor and declare it "cold"..the woman responsible is now in jail..but that won't make you happy, you just hate the guy ,right?
How is it his fault in the first place? They need to be investigating the person who knowingly loaded that gun that day. Someone knowingly did that, knowing he was going to use the gun that day on the set. God rest the young lady’s soul that lost her life. WHO LOADED THE GUN????
He should stay in jail. He knowingly picked up prop gun knowingly did not check it and knowingly pulled the damn trigger it's ALL on him this decision is a joke. Maybe these sad anti gun idiots would know this if they took a gun safety course. But they won't so they spew dumb crap like this.
Exactly.
Alec doesn’t know how that happened! It wasn’t his fault!
🥀 RIP 🕯️
0:42 ❤ That man has been through HELL.
I don’t care what anyone says.
That man almost lost his life because of public outrage.
Like he intentionally meant to shoot someone really.
That's why it was involuntary manslaughter!!! He had the gun he was responsible for pulling the trigger he didn't check the gun!!!!
@@Good-121 no one said he meant to shoot someone people have accidents all the time and some are in jail because of it
Baldwin was an actor on the set, not the arms specialist or whatever titles are used. He was not culpable for any of this unless evidence was found to suggest otherwise, and it wasn't. Don't assume famous people are guilty just because they're famous. EVIDENCE!
@@josephwaggener9307 TRUMP is innocent and look what they're trying to do to him
I'm so glad this is over for Alec. He never should have been on trial to begin with
If you are a famous celebrity and committed a crime…just pay at the exit 💴 💰 case dismissed
..... and the prosecutor resigns..... 😶
Our justice system is a joke.
From the beginning I knew he was not guilty.....you do n't have to be a lawyer to know he was not
quilty.......the person in charge of the guns and bullets was the lady that is in prison....
an actor crying give me a break
You're a cynical person aren't you?
Good! He was in no way responsible for this accident. Actors trust the director and armorer and prop master to NOT have a loaded gun with “live” ammunition be placed in their hands! The prosecutor was trying to make headlines and a name for themselves by trying a beloved legend of an actor! I’m so happy for him and his entire family and friends! He’s a class act and didn’t deserve to be put through this hell! This judge saw through that bogus prosecution and did exactly the right thing. Finally a judge that upholds the law makes the news. The Supreme Court could take some lessons from this honorable judge! Go back to being a family man and great actor Alec…you are loved by millions of people…never forget that…
I’m sorry for the woman who died that day but this man did not know the gun was loaded so I’m happy for him
the state attorney was out to get him.
I dont see what part he had in it.. he was giving the gun by the ones who was in charge of making sure it was safe for acting as if a shooting happened.. its sad a beautiful young lady died yes.. But i don't see how mr baldwin was st fault.. maybe i missed something.. its sad so but yes the ones whom ever handed him the gun for that scene is the slacking quilty parties.
who determined that ammo WAS material evidence?!? but/and why did the prosecution not provide this ammo during DISCOVERY phase ??? did the defense indeed know this evidence existed, but the prosecution refused to provide the ammo during the discovery phase.,???!?
Anyone else would be rotting in prison
Fs
Nobody in the position should be in trouble, it wasn't his fault that somebody loaded the weapon for a movie set.
They had an expert on Set to make sure everything was safe from what I’ve heard. She was drinking and shooting live ammo on the set on her downtime with a friend. She is totally responsible. That was her job to keep everyone on the set safe and she failed it was not his fault it was not his job His job was my acting as an actor and that was it !!!!!!!!
Good Job Judge!!!!!!!
Every 12 year-old is taught that THEY are the only one who decides if a firearm is loaded or not. We tell students that even if an instructor hands them a firearm and tells them it's unloaded, THEY need to check. It's fundamental to anyone who knows anything about firearms. Being a Hollyweird bigshot doesn't absolve anyone of the responsibility for BASIC firearm safety. At least not until today. Baldwin just completely failed the "Are you smarter than a fifth-grader" challenge. This is awful.
Look at you lol if this was Trump instead of Alec you would sing a different tune.
Wrong, he was also a producer on the show! He is also responsible! You’re a typically Lib covering for the continued idiocy of your foul party!
@@popcornfps nope
@@popcornfps I actually don’t even like this guy at all, he was not at fault. They had a paid expert to handle the weapons and ammunition and keep everyone safe and she failed and she is responsible
I hate this guy, always have.
BUT..I am extremely grateful to see a judge actually uphold the constitution for once.
And that far outweighs my personal opinion.
Literally got away with murder!
@@Daywalker222 more like involuntary manslaughter maybe
Everyone needs to stop supporting these things.
Alex Baldwin could have loaded the gun after he got it knowing that the armorer would be blamed for the shooting.
Why on earth would he
But why though?
Motive?
He had said earlier he wondered what it would be like to shoot someone!!
Yay! It's about time Alec got set free!
I think was sabotage from someone who was upset with the production.

The fact is that Baldwin is the one that pulled the trigger
No shit. That's why he was on trial. Pretty obvious.
@@jdhi5279 and you think he should walk free
@BillyTurner-vb3hf yeah. Did he load it? Was it his job to check, on a movie set, where no live ammunition is supposed to be, where it's all fantastical and pretend? Yet there is someone specifically employed, who deals with the firearms to solely make surr nothing could go wrong yet, they allowed that to happen. Yes he pulled the trigger. Unfortunate circumstances. I get that. He should definitely do something for that family.
@@jdhi5279 it was his job to check if it was loaded. The actions of both caused that woman to die
@BillyTurner-vb3hf it's supposed to be loaded with blanks. It's going to be loaded regardless. But not with live ammunition. Not sure if you know how that works. The "armorer" only job is to make sure those guns are safe to handle. Literally the sole purpose of that person. Nothing else. Nothing more. I don't know how different blanks look than regular live ammunition.
I'm glad this was resolved.
Mr Baldwin is an actor, not a gun expert.
When making movies, you appear to aim at the other actor when you are actually aiming several feet to the side. The camera does the rest.
This was a single action revolver; you cannot see the rear of the ammo for any hint of color or tip difference.
The gun is given to the actor, with blanks, and that is the responsibility of the armorer to ensure what loads are in it first.
The actor may not know the difference at all, it's not their job.
Mr Baldwin was likely doing as he was told; aiming to the side. If there had only been blanks, all would have been fine.
Unfortunately many of the crew were filming within the 'line of sight'. That line, on a short revolver, is NOT precise.
Whoever was at fault for letting live ammo and a fully operational handgun on the set IS responsible to ensure there is NO mixup. Ever.
Mr Baldwin, even if innocent, will feel the consequences emotionally for years to come.
So happy for Alec and his family. This should have never been brought to trial. The prosecution and the police need to be held accountable for hiding evidence. And for people saying this doesn't change the fact that he is still responsible: Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the armorer and the person responsible has already been sentenced to 18 months for manslaughter, so as tragic as all of this is, Halyna and her family has gotten justice (even if they don't think so). Though the downside is that this could impact the case against Hannah who I hear is already planning on appealing. I hope it doesn't but it's highly likely.
A friend of Hannah's family bringing in a case of bullets as evidence after she was tried in court and the State not letting Baldwin's attornies know about that is
what caused this trial to end...I also saw when the prosecutor touched a bullet as evidence with her bare ungloved hand right before Baldwin's attorney and the judge ...insane!!! what terrible prosector's..
Money, am I right ?
Of course it was…

So glad to hear that all charges were dropped.
The State Prosecutor's especially the crime scene technician came across like bimbo's. So no surprise here.
