@@Katiek58 Ok, so there are a few things to unpack here. First the lawsuit against Google. Do you know what the lawsuit is actually about? Hint, it has nothing to do with politics. You need to find truth in whatever you are watching and or reading. How do you do this? Very simple rule. Whenever you are reading/watching an article online or tv make sure it is coming from a reputable source. You do this by looking for a reporter's name who is reporting the story. That person is responsible for the truth of the story. If the report turns out to be false they are reprimanded severely by their peers.
You mentioned "you have to dig" and there is a reason for that. It's because it has been deemed to be untrue or a lie. Google or any other online search engine cannot delete what is untrue or a lie because of freedom of speech. Again, look at that article about your AG and see if there is a reporter who has their name attached to that story. Most of the time what you find is something like "Staff writer" or something else and there is no name to the right of that which means it's fabricated/opinionated.
Media is one thing, News is another thing entirely. For instance, this is a local news channel, and if you watch it the anchor sets up the story and then says "Let's go to reporter (Insert name here) who is at the scene" and that person is now the responsible party for that story. On the other hand, if you are watching/reading media there is typically just someone talking/writing an opinion, and no one is cited in the story as a reporter/journalist who contributed to the source.
People are allowed to believe what they want but you have to monitor things for yourself because no one else is going to do it for you. If you find yourself angry, frustrated, and or fearful a lot of time it might be time to take a break from media and the news. A big problem today is too much news and that's never a good thing. Negative in negative out. Hope you have a great day.
