    👏🏼👏🏼 Great information sir. Really a job like Striping who would really think to review some text book codes. I guess not until something happens and you become aware 😅.

    Code also says the ADA spots have to be the closest to the access of the entrance. Depending on the state or local municipality. So if the angled spots are closer than those 3 spots then you would technically have to use the angled spots in which angled spots can't share van accessible unloading areas. If you use the 3 spaces it is still not up to code if they are farther from the angled spots. Make sure you know your local codes as the Inspectors don't always know either (not saying you don't per se but just others in general). I just re-striped an ADA spot that the Inspector was telling him wrong information. I had to speak to the inspector myself. There is a lot that goes into ADA regulations but most places don't care unless someone complains.

    Every parking lot must be Ada compliant. The first handicap space must be a van accessible which is 8 foot wide parking space and 8 foot wide access aisle. 2 handicap spaces may share one access aisle. Also you must have one handicap space per every 25 regular spaces

    How do you report a parking lot to ADA and MUTCD

    Everyone wants to qoute the MUTCD or ADA, But its not that simple, every city and state can have their own rules on ADA zones. states, citys and countys can add to the requirements of the MUTCD as long as its not Below the Miniumus. in Washingtion the number of handicaps depends on the number of stalls if only one is required it needs to be a van stall, but that van stall is only required to be 16ft in total. ie you can have a 5ft walk way and a 11ft parking space. another example is the city of spokane requires 6in Blue lines and 5ft Blue Square. so this is kind of a moot point. cuz unless the municipality. has no requirements other than the MUTCD. than you can STILL be out of Spec. you cant just say this is the rules and stripe it according to ADA. its only a minimum guide line.

    Excellent Content i learned a lot from your video. I have two questions. Where do you find your local ada requirements/code? I have a parking lot they asked me to quote for stripping after i seal coat it. There is No current ada parking spots in the parking lot. Where would i find out if its a requirement that every bussiness must have them or if there not required to have them? Its my first stripping job and i don't want to mess it up. Thanks for your help.

    Hi, how much do you charge to respray handicap symbol?

    • @TheStripingGuy
      @TheStripingGuy  Год назад +1

      Usually 25-30, but I’ve got a job where I’m only spraying 6, so I charged 550 for that one. So, kidnaps just varies. I Dont claim to be the standard, this is just what has worked for me.
