At 21, I found myself living at home in central Florida, failing in college for a major I had no interest in, and working at McDonald's with no "career" growth in sight. I was on RUclips and stumbled across your moving to a new city in the recommended sidebar one night. Next month I board a flight to California, and I'm currently training for a CompTIA cybersecurity certification. Thanks for giving me the push I needed. Wish me luck.
@@tylerjkeenan Just coming back to say that I'm pretty sure your video changed my future :') it's been a month and I already have a place to live, got my driver's license for the first time, and I'm interviewing for a big company headquartered here. I honestly feel like everyone should try this at least once in their life.
This is a great video. I’ve been thinking ing to move away from my hometown to a new city for a while now. Every now and again the feeling comes back. It’s nice to know we’re all kinda “winging it” together.
I agree with the sincere desire and staying engaged ❤ I was forced out of Atlanta where I lived for 13 years and now I’m alone here in a new town DEPRESSED out of my mind…
Really motivational just to hear how you worded moving to a new place and how there really is no blueprint… I’m 27 and have lived here my whole life. But your words I will not forget and have inspired me. Thank you 😊
Hi Tyler. I’m thinking of moving to Utah from New Jersey alone. Your confidence and honesty are refreshing. I don’t know anyone there so I’m worried. Also an introvert like you.
Thanks for watching and for leaving this comment. If you haven't watched my "5 Lessons from Moving to a New City Alone" video, please check that one out. I'm also working on another video right now on this topic - subscribe, if you feel inclined and want to hear more about my own journey :) Thanks again.
Hey, Tyler! My name is Bobby and I'm from Bulgaria. In 2 days I'm moving to a different city completely alone and I feel really exited. I'm watching your videos and I'm really happy to exchange this experience from you! My dream was to live near the sea in Bulgaria and now I'm 2 days away from my biggest dream. About the job it will be the same, because I'm working for American based company but doing all the stuff from home, so it was really easy choice to make. Keep going with the great stuff
Hey Tyler. I stumbled across your channel today. I'm looking into moving because I've been in the same place since I was 9 months old, and I need a change of scenery. I'd like to pick your brain if you're willing! Your channel is really inspiring. Thanks for all you do :)
Hey Lyssa, I just made a text post on my channel. Going to do a Q&A with some subscriber questions. Can you comment on that post with anything you’d like me to talk about? Thanks! Or DM on IG @tylerjkeenan
I have been living overseas for most of my adult life. I have never been stable in the USA and never had to be independent in the USA. I am being pressured to move back "home" (the USA) in a few months. I have been doing so much research on where to move, how to move, pros/cons, etc... i stumbled into your videos. Thanks for your content.
I think Seattle is great. Beautiful city - love the access to water; seeing Mt Rainier is always mind blowing. The winters are a little dark, but I didn't mind too much - the Spring and Summer made up for it. :) I may return to Seattle someday. There's a lot of opportunity up there!

One of the best comments I’ve ever received. Thank you. You’re gonna kill it.

Haha I left Central Florida after I graduated UCF in 2014, lived in Denver and DC since then, best decision of my life was to gtfo of Central Florida.
@@sanford360 yeah, it will never be the same there again. life is better out west imo.

This means a lot, my friend. Thank you.
You can take as many instructions as you want about swimming, but you will not learn at all until you get in the water.

Just watched your Seattle moving vlog... Then here I check your latest. I just moved to Austin alone 30 days ago... lol
Paul! Thanks for watching. How’s Austin treating you so far?
Thank you for your honesty, Tyler!! I love the content you put out. Somehow, it feels better knowing that we’re all kind of flailing together 🙃
Thanks for commenting, Andrew! It means a lot. Flailing together and enjoying the process :)

Thinking about moving to a new city... What were some of the lessons you learned from your move? @annaszabo
Moving to Dallas out of Los Angeles, alone! YES soooo glad I found your video!
Awesome!! Enjoy the journey :)
I did that from Dallas to Orlando FL 9 years ago and I loved it. Some friends helped me for a week but no regrets moving to a new city alone.
That's awesome, thanks for sharing! Having a few friends to rely on can be a huge help with moves like that. Cheers to your journey.
