I had one of those someone messed with and it wouldn’t run the throttle linkage was on the wrong hole in the carburetor. At first I just tightened the idle screw to get enough RPM It ran fine that way but then when I realized the issue I moved it to the correct position and it ran way better.
Found one of them yard machines 4.5 hp snowblowers with the metal body DOA. About 30 mins and a gentle carb clean and it starts on 1 pull. Needs more work but I don’t know it’s worth it.
You & I are muy simpatico on almost every small engine thing .... except for Tecumseh. I like 'em; you don't. But you were very forgiving to this classic.
4:40 yep Rally is a AYP product , some were also made by the Old Murray. long ago back in the 1970s Rally/Roper Lawn made the sears Craftsman mowers which model numbers started with 131. I know this because I have one. McRae GA is where the old Husqvarna plant was where they made the Weed Eater line of mowers before they closed it few years ago
@@MowersNBlowers steel toed flip flops, would draw a lot of interest, Lol :) Just be safe my friend, accidents are what they are and they do happen when we are to comfortable around equipment. Thank you for sharing your journey, my friend :)
@@silvercommander no not really... Briggs quantum does not need to be oiled, tecumseh later engines require the oval or round paper air filter and do not require oil, only the older tecumseh, and the pulsa prime briggs require oiled air filter, just wanted to share that.
Awesome it was a lil old granny's mower, take it back and put on her porch. grateful deed. 😅😅

I love a side discharge on any push mower. Rally must have known what they were doing. Nice find and diagnosis, Hank!
Looks good Henry, you did a good job.
Good find Henry. And for FREE!
Got snowblower number 3 running today . Two left to check out.

Little old lady owned. Used every other sunday. No lowballers . I know what i got😊
I remember Forest City selling those
Henry, you are scaring me with those flip flops working on push mowers , Lol :)
As long as you do t out your foot under the deck, it’s fine! Even if you wore sneakers, the blade will take your foot off!

@@darrelldubree9658 thx for watching
Do u install the fuel shut off in front of the filter or behind (carburetor side)
Should be gas tank then filter then shut off then carburetor. Filter needs to filter gas before the fuel shutoff or it’ll get clogged
@@MowersNBlowers thank you
@@silvercommander anytime bro
And remember that kind of air filter has to be lightly oiled.
Don't they all
