I used to work at McDonalds, and the patties that go on an actual big mac are 1/10 of a pound pre cooked weight, so if you wanted authenticity you could get 10 patties out of a pound (they also only cook for 38 seconds from frozen solid to totally done which used up amaze me😊
Yumm! I've been making Big Mac Tacos, but a slightly different version) for over 20 years! They were easy to switch to low carb/keto just by switching out the tortillas, the relish and the ketchup (I make my sauce with a little ketchup, too). In my version, the burgers are cooked and the tortillas warmed and lightly crisped separately. I just make larger, thinner 1/4 lb burgers (slightly larger than the tortillas) and cook, topping with cheese after I flip. Then I let the burgers rest while I toast the tortillas, making sure they're still pliable or make them a little more done and drape them to create a hard taco shell, if you prefer. Cut each burger in half, giving two half moon shapes, and insert into the folded tortilla cut edge down. Then add your toppings and each person gets two!
I commented to soon, I should have waited until the video ended 😂 I wanted to say when I can't find SF pickles I buy regular unsweetened pickles and just add sweetner when I get home. I like the pickle slices (the big ones) and I can't ever find those SF. I use liquid sweetner but I think any would probably work. So if you can't find relish just add sweetner ❤
Dude, I'm type 1 and my wife has lovingly changed her eating habits so that I/we can eat low carb. One thing she used to eat multiple times a week was a Big Mac. She loved them and probably hasn't had one in 3 or 4 years. Made these for dinner and she was like, " It's a Big Mac!! If I could find that Wesley, I'd give him a hug!!!" Made them on a flattop at around 340 degrees for 4.5 mins and they were cooked perfectly. It's like some kind of weird magic, a burger that you don't have to flip and it's cooked. AND, what a way to just have burgers (Big Mac style or otherwise). I'm thinking bacon cheeseburger for me next time. And they're fast, so perfect for after work too. Again sir, thanks so much!!!!
I'm wondering if you put a lid on the fry pan after you added the onions and the cheese, if it would help to heat up the onions and melt the cheese a little bit better
I gave up on cooking the burger on top of the tortilla. I cook the burger, and then the tortilla in the same pan. I can't tell the difference, except the burger can cook through without burn8ng the tortilla.
It's a fun convert recipe to try. YES - according to the Master Cloner (Top Secret Recipes (Todd Wilber), it's Paprika. Although I use dill pickle relish, and ad a PINCH of powdered Monk fruit, if needed - but I prefer the tang better than the sweet. It's a great big mac sauce replica!
I may try this but I think I like the idea of using a thin burger patty instead of just cooking the ground meat for tacos as I hate messy food and this would eliminate my meat falling out after each bite
Love these!!! I put the meat on one half like a half circle so I can bend better. But, I LOVE your take on the sauce. I'm making these tonight with the new sauce version. Thx Wes 🧡
eat video Wes love the recipe Organic Valley makes an American cheese (slices) from grass fed and its great and melts nicely as well I make my own ketchup and mayo and use Allulose/monk fruit blend in both so zero in the sweet carb world just the tomato paste ...I use the lowest sugar (natural( content..... NC Julianna
If you want to reduce the amount that the meat swells in the middle, flatten the center a bit more than the edges. That way, when it swells while cooking, it evens out in the end 😊
All of that would be ideal in a perfect world. But we can’t let “perfect” get in the way of “good.” Making every component in this recipe from scratch would make this quick, weeknight meal a 2-hour process and $75. If someone has the time and expense to do that, that’s great. Many don’t. And solutions like these go a long way toward health, even if it’s not a complete home run.
I just found you on RUclips. I absolutely love your videos! I just had a stroke and I also found out I have type two diabetes and it’s really hard to learn how to eat the right way. I think these videos will help a lot.❤
Can't wait to make these because its been decades since I had a Big Mac. You had me salivating. And I need a good skillet so will be ordering the Made In. Thanks for another great video!!
Made In cook ware is made of 5 layers of metal, the inside and the outside layers are indeed Stainless Steel, but the 3 inner layers are aluminum, not Stainless steel. Just sayin'.
Very true. You actually WANT an internal aluminum core that goes up the edge of the pan. Aluminum is a powerful heat conductor - much more than stainless. All the best professional-grade pans include an aluminum core (All Clad, Misen, Made In, etc..) :-)
Years ago we used to cook what we called squished meat sandwiches. We had a combination waffle maker with flat griddle plates. We would take bread and place small amounts of hamburger on one piece. Add mustard thinly sliced onion, mustard, and then cheese. Cover it with a 2nd slice of bread then close the lid. You can make 4 of these things at a time. Now on to my suggestion. Why not apply the same to these? One tortilla, meat, cheese, and such. Add your condiments and then a 2nd tortilla. Then close the lid and cook. Just a thought. lol
Thanks Wes for putting this recipe up. Im a LCHF diabetic who cooks for myself, 2 other people with diabetes and a slightly fussy carb-muncher husband. Idk if your husband is low carb too or you guys prefer to cook separately... ive not seen all your videos yet, sometimes we eat the same and just swap the carbs for zoodles, cauli mash, cauli rice etc and sometimes its completely different ie last night we had chicken and dumplings/biscuits from CJs kitchen, the night before k si min (hes naf of 'stew' type foods) and i just did hubby a taco burger on the side. So quick and easy... hubs will eat the same things a lot when he likes them, but theres different ways to change it up slightly with inspiration from whoppas, mcFeast etc...
😂😂😂 Watching you take your first bite… I don’t eat BM, however I am going to try this recipe. I don’t like the taste of Tortillas, what low carb T did you use in this recipe? Loved your video! Looking forward to more recipes…Thank you! ❤
These are the La Banderita brand Zero Net Carb tortillas - “Street Taco” sized. They are by far the best in my opinion. I find them at Ralph’s/Kroger, so they should be in most large grocery stores.
I've been experimenting with the sauce. This time I used dill relish and 1.5 teaspoons of allulose. Worked great! I also "cheated" this time and for the salt I used Redmond's smoked salt so it would have a little "outdoor cooking" flavor, and I really like it.
Ok I had the family over for dinner and cooked this tonight. It was very well received. I did cook the meat separately to the tortilla. The sussie low-carb wraps go sweaty when they're cooked together... but it's perfect when you just put them together after. It's also easier to keep everything hot if you're serving together (just grab a thermoserver, pop boiling water in it for a few minutes, toss when the first burger patty's are cooked and just keep stacking them in there till you have enough for everyone). I served tiramisu for dessert 🍨 (I hacked all day I dream about food's to make it strawberry flavour). It was a truly lovely evening.
I'll just stick to making burger salad. Low carb tortillas (yes, I've had all of them) are just like regular tortillas, to my diabetic self...meaning, no bueno for my blood glucose.
Yummy! I’ve got to try this! I miss eating a Big Mac but gosh, THREE pieces of bread for the original! Thanks for sharing this video! Also, I bet the special sauce would be a great salad dressing!!
Thank you for this sponsor. I agree we have lost our American made pride and products and the quality they are(were) known for, sadly. I bought some of the other cookware you use and recommend so i know this company has to be great as well. ❤
If you haven't tried Hero bread, tortillas, croissants etc you should. It is dirty keto but sooooo good and no insulin spike (for me anyhow). The breads seem to be available at Sprouts Farmers Market if you have one in your area.
Another great video Wes! Thank you! Recipes like this give us tools to stay on course while enjoying what we eat. I made chili cheese dogs for dinner a few days ago using the zero carb tortillas, Nathan’s hotdogs, American cheese, and homemade low carb chili. They were delicious!!
If it hasn't already been said, you can buy sliced dill pickles, drain the brine into a sauce pan, heat it up on a stove and add alulose (like how you would make a simple syrup) once it's incorporated and cooled down add it back to the pickles, put it in the fridge and the next day you'll have sweet pickles that you can dice up into relish. I'm sure you can do this same process with dill pickle relish if you strain it well I just haven't tried that yet. I want to say I used maybe a half cup of alulose but that depends on how sweet you want it.
I'm Celiac could this work with gluten free tortias? I use a low carb high protein befree gluten free tortia it is 5g of carbs per tortia and 11 grams of protein. just to pop a question here out of interest 😊.
I ordered taco shells from ala Madre. Check out low carb love she has a,coupon code. However. These are low low carb and fantastic took a bit to get to my house but sooo worth it. They take these big man tacos to the next step up. Try them you want regret. But this recipe for sauce and how to is fantastic. Ty
Aussie here... this clip gave me a great idea. I don't really miss maccas (what you guys say is mickey-Ds?)... I miss Jackaas... Hungary Jacks ie burger king (PS I am curious if American BK has the 'big jack'... like a big Mac but bigger?). I have gluten intolerance so just made the 2 ingredient coconut flour tortilla and cooked a long patty separately... added lettuce, cheese, tomato, onion, pickles, mayo and diet tomato sauce... it was the yummiest 'not- whopper' ever... and I could eat it with my hands. I don't know if BK does it when you order a bunless burger... you kinda have to eat it with a fork and knife... would be so much easier if they put the salad between the meat... ok well. Thanks Wes.
Ok, so I tried this hack for my parents last night as low carb wraps that are available where we live seem to be as disappointing as the gf ones I had to endure before I went low carb. We made 'mcOz' tacos for them and 'mcFeast' for hubs and I (I just googled the sauce, apparently, its the mcChicken one). This hack did make their tortilla taste nicer... according to the people who ate it. Hubs, my carbmuncher, had the large one, it's all we had in the fridge... about a foot in diameter... so I cooked his patty and wrap separately. Thanks again for the amazing fakeaway tips Wes. If anyone else watching this is worried about cooking meat with a tortilla... or they're wrong size etc... and Wes hasn't convinced you that you can do it... the way I did Hubs was pressed the mince onto a small plate. Peeled it off and cooked, then warmed tortilla on larger frying pan. It made it easier to serve 4 people hot food in one go too.
Wes, another great video. Was wondering if possibly pressing out the hamburger using a tortilla press between two pieces of parchment paper, to get it thin. Will have to try this recipe. Thank you have a great rest of your Friday and Weekend.
Yes! That would work great! And on my second batch. I folded the parchment and used my rolling pin to get the meat even and all the way to the end of the tortilla. A press would be ideal!
I can’t wait to try these! And in my southern raising, it would never be a sweet pickle LOL. Though I’ve had this argument with many others. It’s like mayo brand loyalty!
OMG so good!!! I used the zero carb street taco shells and added a bit of tomato on top of the lettuce.... That sauce is SPOT ON! Next time I'll also have the chaffle onion rings. Thanks!
Wes, I just fall in love with you every time you send out a new video! AND I love Made In cookware SO much. I went to their Austin, Texas store and bought my first pan and BOOM! Love at first fry! This recipe looks tempting, so thank you for this and for all that you do! Hugs!
I've never been a big mac person and my taco experience is very minimal.. I'm just here because you're intro..Y'all come-on.. is irresistible.. and it is a view.
I make all my keto condiments. To make sweet relish- you just save the juice from your dill pickles by some baby cukes that are good for pickling cut them up or drop them up in a blender to make relish out of it drop it into the dill juice add a little bit of value, los or coconut sugar, which ever sweetener you like really And voilà you have keto sweet relish. Or skip all that and add sweetener to dill relish.
These are delicious! Hey Wes, I figured out the key to getting the meat on the tortillas. I used my tortilla press and some parchment paper. I mashed the hamburger ball on top of the tortilla, letting the meat go PAST the edges of the tortilla. This makes a very thin, pliable patty and once cooked the meat still covers most of the tortilla! It also makes putting them together extremely easy. Try it!

Cooking raw meat on a tortilla doesn't sound appealing to me so I will try it your way. Thanks.
Wes, the reason I choose to watch you over some of the other Keto folks is because of your conversation. Don't shut-up!
Thank you, Judy! I appreciate that. 🧡🧡🙃🙃

thats what i was thinking too
Great idea! Why didn’t I ever think of that? I did think of making my own Sugar free cowboy candy, which is sweet pickled jalapeños. Yum!
Vlasic makes a no sugar added sweet relish and it's really good!
I saw the Vlasic No Sugar Added too, but the second ingredient is high fructose corn syrup, so I avoided it. :-(
Yes I had heard try regular dill relish, then add sweetener a little attached time for your level of sweet.
None of us eat perfectly Wes and those that say they do are simply lying😉 Thanks for your awesome reviews😁
Thanks, Chef!
you talk all you want, wes!!! thats why we like you, you tell us EVERYTHING!!!
🧡🧡🙃🙃
Never was a Big Mac fan, but I can see making this recipe, just to have a simple hamburger. Thanks for another good idea, Wes. 😊
Same. I think I didn’t like them growing up because they simply had too much bread with that middle bun. This solves that! :-)

as my husband loves to say " i'd eat the pants off of those!" 🤣🍔
Haha! 🙃
I do this as Big Mac bowls. No tortilla needed… just the sauce pickles, cheese, meat, and of course bacon.
Exactly! And those tortillas might as well just be regular, for me...they might be low carb but still full of stuff that makes my blood sugar go high
Brava! These little cuties could be the perfect appetizer. Thanks again Wes!
They are so tasty!
chris cooks nashville has recipes for carnivore tortillas, don't use store bought mayo w pufa in it - make your own with non-pufa

If you haven't tried Hero bread, tortillas, croissants etc you should. It is dirty keto but sooooo good and no insulin spike (for me anyhow). The breads seem to be available at Sprouts Farmers Market if you have one in your area.
Wes! never stop talking....❤🧡💛💚💙
🙂🧡
Wes, thank you! That LOOKED so good! I'm def making it! P.s. I love your videos!💜
Thank you!! It WAS good! 🧡🙃
Awesome video! I used 73/27 ground beef and resting them on a plate with paper towels, turned out great.
We enjoy watching you! You are hilarious! Please don’t do he shorter form. We like details
Was there a non-wheat tortilla option? Food allergies!
Someone here mentioned they love this recipe with EggLife Wraps!
I luv these tacos. I make them with ground turkey. Luv the expression on your face❤
Looks yummy but Keto Twins did this 6 months ago. I've been making them since watching it.
I'm Celiac could this work with gluten free tortias? I use a low carb high protein befree gluten free tortia it is 5g of carbs per tortia and 11 grams of protein. just to pop a question here out of interest 😊.
I'll try it!💖
Thank you for the tip about "no sugar" sweet relish!
Ty
Think I’ll sprinkle a few sesame seeds on the top!
Yup, sesame seeds are a required ingredient from the oldsong patter!
Looks delicious! I’m going to try it. Thanks as always.
Aldi occasionally has keto burger buns which aren’t weird
A little Allulose would add sweetness to the Dill pickle relish Thank you for the recipe :)
Never was big Mac fan got food poisoning but I just might try this
Aussie here... this clip gave me a great idea.
These look awesome, wonder if they would work with egglife wraps?
I use ketchup in my sauce. I don’t care that it’s not original. It tastes fantastic and the color is perfect.
Looks great! I'd like to try it as a quesadilla with 3 layers like the Big Mac.
OMG! Now you’re talking!
Dude!!! Stop talking and just make the damn tacos!!!
🍔🌮🤤
❤️🍀 Algorithm Chow!
MMmm! My favorite! 🙃🧡🧡
I love your videos such a blessing definitely trying this one
Gonna try but with no pickles except a bit of relish .
What do you think about Kaizen pastas or the carbe diem pasta
You know most people choose what they eat on the basis of taste not what is healthy. So here we sit with a sick nation.
Please make cottage cheese bread that looks like thick wraps?
Wes, thank you for the content! Did you see the keto grits from Chris cooking Nashville?? OMG 😱
Yes! Can’t wait to try the grits!!
I do believe you just had a bit of a food-gasm.🤔
Can you please do the chicken ceasar pizza?
Loved Big Macs, making this asap
We made these once on our blackstone and they were so good. Definitely need to make them again.
Love your videos…I am only on RUclips…
Thank you it was delishious!!!
Oh neat! Seems like an easy, quick meal to try.
So good!
I use dill relish and add monkfruit if I want is sweet.
Hugs!
WOW! We made these for dinner tonight - DELICIOUS! Thank u 😘
I've never been a big mac person and my taco experience is very minimal.. I'm just here because you're intro..Y'all come-on.. is irresistible.. and it is a view.
I always make big mac salad, basically the same thing, but just put the patties on a bed of lettuce. I've never felt like I've missed the bread.
I use the Dill Pickle relish and add a little bit of sweetener of your choice. Tastes GREAT!!
Try it!
You are too cute! I gotta do this!
Great idea! LOVE your video! Looking forward to trying these. Thank you for posting another mouth-watering recipe! You are the best!!
Def gonna make this. Big macs were my favorite from McD's. Thx!
i have to try these now they look delicious! I buy dills with no sugar, dice them and add allulose, works great!!!
