So, I already have 60 hours clocked with DQ Treasures and I still can't stop. Gives me so much nostalgia, so many endorphines whenever I discvover some rare stuff and just checks all my boxes. I don't regret paying full price
I really enjoyed Dragon Quest Treasures. I enjoyed the loop of the gameplay. I loved the recruiting of monsters. I loved having 4 teams going out by themselves. The treasured were nostalgic for DQ. Daily Quests gave me Crimera Wings. I never had a shortage. It is repetitive but at the holidays I enjoyed it. I love DQ games. I played it with DQ builders. I would play several rounds and then play DQ builder's. Thanks for the video.
Snorre!! ❤ Thank you for the review. I played Dragon Quest treasures for a bit and now I wanna get back into it. I just got stuck on some parts but finding the treasure is super satisfying.
I'm Obsessed with Calico on switch right now. It's about creating a cat Cafe and helping the towns folk in an adorable magical world. Thought I would share, as I hope it might get the attention it deserves eventually. 💫
I’ve been enjoying Harvestella, but I will concur that it’s easy to fall off on. I haven’t played for a couple of days and it’s no longer on my mind at all. I do want to finish it, though.
I really like that you prepare and plan your videos, making extensive notes and so, yet they still feel very much not scripted! Keep the great content coming!😀
Please consider going over the niche games group you have because I have never heard of most of those, especially that mary skelter game you were talking about cool info.
Harvestella is a hidden gem imo. It's really engaging and atmospheric. The musix, graphics, and storyline really draw you in. The battle system could use a revamp though, needs more mechanics to it but then it would waste a lot of precious in-game time.
Thanks, I rely on you and Switch Up, you don't sugarcoat your reviews, without being biased. I keep forgetting to make folders on the switch, I must do that.
I've been playing Persona 5 Royal and DQ Treasures and while I do like the mindless loop of go out find treasure and return to base, I do wish I was playing it on a more powerful system. it feels a little cheap and I too was looking forward to hopefully having an active hand in rebuilding the base.
Ah I got DQ Treasures for Christmas! It reminded me of the time when I was introduced to the series by DQ VIII when it arrived Christmas Eve 2006.. Now we start the New Year with FE Engage.. I honestly feel like I can't keep up with all these fabulous releases.. I tried a little of that Harvestella demo but it seems like such a huge timesink for someone with a big backlog like myself.. I'm contemplating doing another SRPG focused year to celebrate Fire Emblem and work on other stuff like DioField Chronicle and Redemption Reapers later on..
Hi Ircha! I'd like to reccomend the, Etrian Odyssey series. It's a great first-person, dungeon crawling RPG series, found on the Nintendo 3DS. If you haven't played any of them maybe you can give them try!
I love the Etrian Odyssey games! I found them while going thru the 3DS library to try to figure out which games to get ASAP before the store closes. Ended up downloading the EO 2 demo and loving it so much, I tracked down physical copies of as many Etrian Odyssey games as I could on Ebay. I don’t know if Nintendo could ever adapt them for other platforms, given how important the dual screens are, so I’m glad I bought them when I could. Prices are probably super high for physical copies now, so eshop copies are better than missing out on this series!!
I think k you should give harvestella another chance I absolutely LOVED the game. How far did you get ? It gets kinda same - ey towards the middle but once the story picks back up the ending is great so I hope you can give it another chance
So I played a bit of Demon Gaze, and gotta say, your short review of it was pretty spot on. I would add, if you like that sort of game, and find it on a decent sale, it may be worth considering, but I'd probably suggest passing at full price.
Great reviews. DQ Treasure being "comfortable boring" kinda suit me, because I like chill games. I'm waiting for a sale as you advised (I never pay $59.99 for a game). The other games are generally not for me but the reviews are very interesting as always 😊 👍
I guess you haven't used a chimera wing or unlocked all the train stations or did many side quests because I did those things and got the complete opposite conclusion and opinion that you have. There are quite a few bosses later that are pain. Chimera wings warp you back to base with your treasures. And unlocking all train stations leads to more fast travel points. And the side quests are actually really fun and breaks up the monotony of treasure hunting some are challenging too. Tbh game was worth every penny I paid.
You talked about fast travel but for me even though it is there I hardly ever use it cuz it's more fun to just explore to see if I missed anything and like always love ur videos
yesterday (saturday) i just picked up risen for the switch, its quite a long game, if you don't mind playing it at your own pace, quite a lot also to do, regarding getting funds to levelling up and learning skills. Still enjoyable spent nearly 20hrs straight off with it first hand.
@@ircha it is.. the game schematics feel a little like gta (may be vice city, i forget which), where you have different groups you end up joining or competing against.. the graphics are beautiful except for a close up of trees etc. the musics peaceful too.
As a huge dragon quest fan I love seeing the little references from the treasures but it's something I play very casually. Totally agree it's boring comfy but I like it
My folders are grouped by type or whether I've even started them yet. I have the online games in my retro section. I have a monster taming and farming folder, my barely played folder etc.
I enjoyed DQ Treasures but I almost accidentally completed it. I wasn't trying but ended up finding the necessary treasure to trigger the end game events. The trouble was that it meant certain characters were moved out of place and I couldn't complete certain quests. So I just went to the end game and did the final boss, and that was that really. And when I went back to it post credits, the quests just felt a bit pointless, like tasks felt like they were just there to sink time into it. So I ended up putting it away and not coming back to it. It's a shame really as I was really getting into it as I finished it and that motivation just sort of fell off a cliff.
I still enjoy Bear and breakfast but yeah the controls are horrible. I don't understand how and why they thought it was a good idea ! Trying to cook or using the inventory is infuriating.
Dragon Quest Treasures…been seeing the physical version of the game for $20. Passed on it to buy the physical version of Astral Chain for the same price. Thank you for making me realize that I made the right decision.
Skyrim, Dragon Quest Builders 2, Rune Factory 5, Atelier Ryza 2, Pokemon Arceus, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Mary Skelter 2, Ni No Kuni, Fire Emblem Warriors, Two Point Hospital, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Atelier Ryza. ^^
I was playing Pumpkin Jack back in September-October and thought I was going to love it, but it was fine and pretty frustrating. I don't know how far you got into it, but it doesn't get better. It's just more of the same, and I feel like Jack controls pretty clunky, especially later in the game when you need more precise jumps. I tried to play a bit more a couple weeks ago and just gave up again. I don't hate it. I just wish it was better.
I've recently started playing a game called "Samurai Maiden" on the Switch. I would describe it as a fusion between Blue Reflection Second Light and Crystar, so if any of you enjoyed those games I'd highly recommend it.
10:54 I want to say that WitchSpring3 [Re:Fine], Dusk Diver, Project Zero/Fatal Frame, Gal*Gun 2, and Danganronpa aren't JRPGs. You probably already know that but I still wanted to say it, hehe. Anyway, I've been playing Dark Rose Valkyrie lately for some reason...maybe I'll play Cotton Fantasy in the near future.
Well, Harvestella is the kind of game that's not for everyone because it's not deep on the components that it's composed. But I'd say that the demo or the first two chapters aren't the best to judge it, after 110 hours that I've put in it and enjoyed the hell out of it i can say it. The sum of its parts make it a fluid gaming loop bc it gives you time to do farming and fighting in a day with no problem, and also the surprisingly sci Fi story. But yeah, it's not for everyone, maybe it's bc i like SE games most of the time.
I'm sure you have but asking anyways. Have you played My Time at Portia and definitely now that it has been majorly updated on Switch? I have passed up Rune Factory 5 now for this. Thoughts on it now?
When was it updated? I’ve played it thru twice, even tho it was rough. Had to put my second playthrough down for a few months due to the desert mine glitch. Even with it being rough, the story, characters. & gameplay were worth sticking around. If they’ve released a recent patch, I’d probably start a third playthrough 😂
@ViolinChick5 just this past year. It still has some glitches here and there but so far it's wayy better. I think you can find from Team 17 the developer of the full breakdown or updates and fixes.
If you love 3d platforming, try Super Mario 3D World on Switch. It's my favorite Mario game and the added Bowsers Fury expansion is ridiculously fun and creative!
I got dragon quest treasures after it came out and it's been sitting in my collection. I kind of regret that one because at first I thought it was a legit dragon quest game but didn't know it was a spin off, oh well my fault for not looking into that before buying it

Usually DQ spin-offs are surprisingly good. Unfortunate that this one seems a little underwhelming by comparison. Lunistice caught my eye here. Added to my steam wish list. Thanks.
Interesting that you said the music in DQ Treasures is unbearable. I haven’t played it but having completed Dragon Quest 11S, I remember everytime I wanted to relay it, the atrocious soundtrack holds me back. Music is important and I never thought I’d describe it as a dull orchestra but that’s exactly what it is lol
I'm kind of mad at Dragon Quest Treasures because indirectly that game is the reason we don't have Dragon Quest Builders 3. I should really try it anyway. Maybe. If it goes on sale.
I hope they release Dragon Quest Treasures on Steam. The performance issues are a big nono for me. But the atmosphere and art direction look incredible to me! Meanwhile FE Engage is doing everything right for me, loving that game!
