I started Atelier series because of this channel and i completely fell in love with it. Bought like 8 games of the series on sale and honestly Sophie quickly become my favorite due to how simple it was and how adorable the characters are.
Really enjoy vids like these! More ppl should defo try: -Bullet Soul Infinite burst, really fun shmup + it has Kenji Ito soundtrack ❤️ -Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection, I absolutely fell in love with these games, EOIII in the collection especially! -All SaGa series games! RS2 remake coming soon too!
I'm in LOVE with the fact that absolutely everybody pronounced your name differently 🤣🤣😅😅😅 Nice to see Josh here! And definitely going to have to take a look at Min's suggestion: I'd never heard of it before
People who play and make videos about VN and RPGs always bring it up and it sold 1 million copies. It's probably the best known Vanillaware game out there.
Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, Paper Mario Origami and Pokemon Arceus are the most underrated switch games imo. I hope Age of Calamity will get a remaster on switch 2 so everybody sees the masterpiece it is.
•Wuppo Definitive edition [multiplatform, but the switch version runs well enough] Is a really good silly adventure platformer. You are instantly invested in the main character a sassy wum who makes a mess and is then kicked out of his home, your journey to find a new home is honestly one of the best stories I've played in the last decade. (Regularly on sale digitally for $1.99?! Grab it.)
First video I’ve ever watched from this channel and it’s a pipeline to other cool cats with channels. Definitely gained a new sub, now time to catch up on some backlog!
I always recommend the cruel king and the great hero for a cozy side scrolling turn based rpg. It's simple enough for beginners but challenging enough for veterans and has a cute story. The art style is pretty too.
I have been playing Atelier Ryza and I considered it due to your videos. I actually really love it so far! The combat and alchemy are much more fun than I expected them to be. Also, they did a great job on creating a certain feeling when you play the game. It really takes me to a charming, light-hearted, comforting, cute and engaging world. The characters are good so far. Anyway, I really like it!
I bought Astral Chain on sale, but haven't played it due to Opus chasing in Fire Emblem Warriors. I like how more streamlined it is compared to Three Hopes. Definitely makes grinding more enjoyable.
I think that Live A Live suffered a lot from being released literally one week before Xenoblade 3, ie it was a much smaller JRPG completely overshadowed by a massive Nintendo first-party JRPG. Genuinely don't know what Nintendo was thinking when they decided to release this game when they did. I know this because I myself passed on Live A Live because of Xenoblade 3 and to this day have yet to get around to playing it. I want to go back and play it some day, as I've heard great things, but for now it is unfortunately stuck in my backlog. Also nice to see Atelier Sophie 2 mentioned. It's tied as my favorite Atelier game with Ryza 2, and honestly just one of my favorite games, period.
Question. When you say it is in your backlog does that mean you purchased it and have not gotten around to playing it yet or you have yet to purchase it?
I played through Beacon Pines on Gamepass and loved it so I definitely second that recommendation. I forgot about Live a Live so I added that to my wishlist. Before the Green Moon is one I never heard of but will have to check out one day. There are too many good games lol
I feel like Fuga Melodies of Steel 1 & 2 are definitely underrated and not talked about enough or at all. These two games from CyberConnect are awesome games with a amazing story, beautiful graphics and fun yet sometimes challenging gameplay. They are only available digitally but totally worth while if you get a chance to play them. 10/10 highly recommended
I feel good AND bad seeing Atelier Sophie 2 here. Good because I think more people should know about it. Bad because it is sad to see that not a lot of people did play it. Atelier Sophie 2 is actually one of my favorites in the series. And, to me, it was a breath of fresh air after the Ryza games (which I"m not a big fan of).
YES!!. Fire Emblem Warriors [the first one] is SOO GOOD. i was really hoping after 3 Houses (and now engage) we can have another one like this vs. the 'story based' warrior games we've gotten recently. It's not as indepth as Hyrule Warriors [though remember it took THEM like 4 versions to get the definitive edition] . i really enjoy it.
Just finished Beacon Pines and loved it. It's not what it looks like! It's not a little kids game! But rather more like a Goonies or Stranger Things vibe. Both dark and funny and unexpected! So good.
Really cool upload! I wana throw my hat in the ring and give a shout out to a few excellent indie titles that are on switch. If you like metroidvania Genre I HIGHLY recommend Ghost Song and Rebel Transmute. Ghost song absolutely oozes that alien planet atmosphere and has excellent exploration and decent challenge. It has a beautiful more modern visual style. Rebel Transmute is more old school metroid style in its visuals but also is quite atmospheric and challenging with a bigger focus on backtracking and figuring your way around the world as well as figuring out hidden abilities such as ones you can use in combat that double up as traversal abilites. Both so good and rarely talked about.
Yay! Jordan from Switchwatch... The HARDEST working man in show business! Ircha and Switchwatch were the first two channels I subscribed to when the Switch released x Gotta agree with Johnny's pick tho... Live A Live just clicked with me... better than Octopath!

Good Stuff! My Underrated Nintendo Switch Games are the ACA NeoGeo games of note Big Tournament Golf, I just showed that one to my friend who is going to pick it up and Metal Slug 3. There's 104 ACA NEOGEO games, digital only and no subscription required.
I don’t know how popular they are but i love the cat quest games. CQ3 just came out like a week ago and was fun. Short little hack and slash rpg’s with a lot of cat puns
These are more overlooked games. My pick would be Tinykin maybe. No one knows it. If youre talking about underrated, id say Pokemon sword and shield. The single player wasnt great, but the online battles were amazing. Had so much fun with that. I do understand that people have valid reasons for disliking them, but i dont consider them to be anywhere near as bad as others say. Alice madness returns is absolutely underrated and unknown. Psychonauts almost is. And Rifts and High Seize absolutely are both underrated and unknown. But none of those are on Switch.
PM:OK was ok. Compared to the previous 2 games, it was a step forward, but it still didn't capture the magic of the first 3 games in the series. The battle system was meh. I wish you couldn't do puzzles. It gets tedious and sometimes confusing, especially with bosses. At least we got the remake of TTYD, the best Paper Mario, Mario RPG, and just straight up single player Mario game ever made imo. One hidden gem I think people should talk about more is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. This is a AAA Metroidvania game developed by Ubisoft. I think the most recent AAA Metroidvania game before PoP is Metroid Dread. I mean, it has an entire genre partially named after it, so you know Dread is a good game. PoP focuses mostly on melee combat, so it's more like Zelda in that way, which is not a problem with me at all. I just started it a couple of days ago, and I already feel like it's an 8/10 game. I know a lot of indie games tend to be Metroidvanias, but there's something about AAA games in this genre that make it feel different.
I love all Warriors games with cool IPs (Dragon Quest Heroes 1+2, Hyrule Warriors 1+2, Fire Emblem Warriors 1+2, Persona 5 Strikers). Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes and Hyrule Warriors 1 are probably my favorites out of those, closely followed by Dragon Quest Heroes 2.
I now played the sequel of Hopping Girl Kohane and yes, I highly recommend it...Hopping Girl Kohane EX is *great*. If one wants a game available in physical format, I really like the Nintendo Switch version of Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters, a version with a few exclusive features. That is all.
Fire Emblem Warriors was my second Switch game I got with Super Mario Odyssey as my first. I never really play any Fire Emblem games before. I tried it because I enjoyed Hyrule Warriors and now I enjoyed FEW as well.
