Seeing this video after the early access release of KSP 2 leaves me shocked of how they failed in that regard with the new Version. Luckily the community has made KSP1 such a great space sim by now and I hope that KSP2 will look and perform better in the future.

Been working on this since It released, and saw shadowzone released his vid earlier and I was pretty annoyed I didn't get this out yesterday like I first planned :p Just took too long scripting editing and filming all I wanted for it, but still this is such an awesome update and having such a fun time with it :D

Yooooooooo that looks awesome, I haven't actually gone around and checked out all the celestial bodies yet xD Parallax 2.0 RSS configs are definitely coming at some point from me at least, however I don't have too much experience with configing stuff so it's going a bit slow while I learn the ropes.
7:47 I also had some problems with kerbals not wanting to get out of this module and then after a ton of headache suddenly found out that you can click on a particular hatch and force kerbals to leave through it. As far as I'm aware that was not a mod but a very obscure stock mechanic. But maybe some mod adds this capability, I'm not 100% sure
Honestly I don't mind whatever you do, I have a lot of fun watching your content in general- It'd be amazing to see some beautiful stock system gameplay, and hey, a far future tech/interstellar playthrough with the real exoplanets mod, where you could start from nothing and try to make your way to every single planet, including the exoplanets, would be awesome! All of them have very interesting features and some of them even are livable, and could be launched from... Rambling aside, I'm sure you'd have fun with it

Imo ksp has a lot of good points that the mods can't change. Like how mods can be confusing or just not or break, and it appears ksp 2 has done a good job of adding all of this new content. There's also colony building and resource management which are probably some of the biggest things I've wanted out of a space game. Building your own moon metropolis with supply networks to other colonies is awesome. And having massive industrial nasapunk freighters to haul cargo (which could be very interesting with mp) to colonies and SPACEPORTS is just sooo cool. UI changes and interstellar travel also look very, very, very well done and thought out. Idk I just feel like people who just haven't really thought hard about don't realize how impressive this game is
Honestly probably the best graphics mod released, it's insane how much it actually changes the game. Can't wait for the Volumetric cloud update to come to combine with this to make everything look super nice :D
Remember getting this mod trailer recommended a while ago and I realy thought "Holy sh*t! THIS LOOKS SICK." I love how even with KSP 2 on the near-ish (hopefully) horizon, the KSP modders are still making the game visually stunning, and keeping it interesting.
The devs have really got their work cut out for them now, after this release, there's going to be a lot of unhappy people If they don't improve upon what Linx has done
"Rovers were one of the most tedious parts of the game" Yeah I literally made a challenge to have a KAL-9000 automatically drive one to Kerbin's North pole. It's certainly not impossible to mess them up. I don't recall anyone actually winning, but people got to over 60 degrees North IIRC. The fact that people can go hundreds of kilometers at relatively high speed without any closed loop control or serious crashes should tell you something.
I havent tried Parallax personally yet, but from what I've seen of it in videos, I like it where it looks plausibly realistic, but huge spikes as ground scatter, and bubbles in the atmosphere of EVE? Nope, don't like those. I hope there'll be some sort of addon that lets you pick between realistic and "exotic" ground scatters. Really glad that the Terran solar system stuff benefits from this - my next game might well be Kerbal-scale real solar system with Parallax installed, if my PC can cope with it! In any case - utterly superb work by Gameslinx!
There’s been quite a few people working on it! I know entropian has made some progress, not heard much more from ballistic fox, but I think there’s another couple working on it too, so fingers crossed something comes soon :D
Just bought the game, but too tired to play, and I'm very upset about this, lol... Bought Space Engineers few months ago, but still needed more space to explore, more what this offers. Can't wait... May I suggest a series in the stock system but with the near future mods and parallax 2.0 of course (maybe even with OPM since there are already the parallax configs for it)
that's really neat. I hope it will work, performance wise, I usually do Rp1 but the loading times are just a bit to much after a while, so I wait in hope, that now the game is in it's final state they can make it run smoother (btw. how is it with "rp2" perfomance wise?) so I was thinking about going back to a "stock" (not RP1 save with a billion mods, even tho I say, I just use a hand full) game for a while anyway. This will make it way, way more interesting and will give me a new reason to explore kerbin again :)
P&LC/"RP-2" seems to be pretty good performance wise to me, but obviously its still early in development so things may change, hopefully for the better though! But yeah exploring stock has never been this fun, I had a really good time going over all the different planets/moons trying to get shots of all of them for this vid!

Just a quick question Did you try using the door at the rear? (For new players you can choose which Door your kerbal exists or EVAs Left click the door Select kerbal Eva)

Darn that looks impressive! A year+ or so ago tested out one of the early versions of parallax and it was so heavy on resources I could only run it without any major parts pack due to KSP's memory & management limitations. So I really am interested in how much resources the latest version of parallax consumes, how viable the mod is to use on a modded install on a 16Gb system.
From what I've heard just from poking around reddit and several discord servers, I think JNSQ may already work with it! This may just be hearsay though, I know Raiz was trying Parallax 2.0 with JNSQ, so its definitely in the works if not done already :)

I know this was two months ago, but how did you get your skybox to be plain black? I have put other skyboxes in my texture replacer folder but it doesn't work. seems like it's getting overridden by another mods skybox but I'm not sure. Which mods are responsible for the clouds here? Also the really decent shine/reflections on the ship and objects? I've applied all except distant object enhancement and I dont have clouds or anything better than vanilla look to my ship/objects. Paralax is working as far as trees/foliage go but its a long way off from the video with all game settings maxed. Anyone know anything abou tthis?
Environmental Visual Enhancement (clouds), Magpie Mods (reflections), Planetshine (planet colored reflection in orbit), and TUFX (post processing effects, needs a config I have all these and my game looks pretty similar to his :)
Can someone please help me figure out how to actually install this thing? I downloaded and unzipped the parallax 2.0, planet textures and scatter textures files to the gamedata I got Kopernicus, (which has that Harmony and the other folder with it) I even tried forcing direct x 11, although i'm certain I did that wrong. I just keep getting the Kopernicus error message saying its unable to load any planets. Any help is much appreciated :)

Is there a stand alone version of Kerbal , so I don't have to go through Epic Games sign in? I got the free version of KSP, but in order to use it (I may have to change some settings, add a file or two, to get it to load) I have to sign in to my (newly created!) Epic Games account! i dont watch the second half of the video as i am doing a tour of the system to visit every object myself and dont want more spoilers. also couldn't you just let jeb exit through the back door of the rover? if you hover your mouse over any exit from a part it says "crew hatch" and if you click you can let any kerbal in that part EVA using that specific exit instead of trying to use a parts default hatch.
Well today I learnt something new! I had no idea that you could do that, thanks! Its how I got him in so I was a bit confused as to why he couldn't get out. And thats absolutely fair, its why I mentioned it at the beginning, so people could discover stuff for themselves if they wanted to.
I mostly was alright with them somehow in this! Apart from the front wheels of the rover being broken for no reason when it landed, but eh a quick save file edit fixed that, but yeah wheels can be super annoying in this game, and I imagine that yeah this update will make things a lot worse :’)

Same happens with the Mk1 crew cabin, it has no hatch to EVA but you can force kerbals to leave it from the "hatches" at the end.

Regarding the Mk2 rover-can, it has two exit points, couldn't you have just clicked on the rear hatch and exited through there?

This is all done on the latest version, 1.12.3! This mod also shouldn't be too taxing, despite its looks, its well optimized! :D

Eve definitely looks a little odd
The real reason ksp2 was delayed, the modders made mods that look better than the stock ksp 2 so the devs went back to the drawing board.

Is there a stand alone version of Kerbal , so I don't have to go through Epic Games sign in? I got the free version of KSP, but in order to use it (I may have to change some settings, add a file or two, to get it to load) I have to sign in to my (newly created!) Epic Games account! Thank you 🤓 if this is a mostly on-line game, I am uninstalling it.

i dont watch the second half of the video as i am doing a tour of the system to visit every object myself and dont want more spoilers. also couldn't you just let jeb exit through the back door of the rover? if you hover your mouse over any exit from a part it says "crew hatch" and if you click you can let any kerbal in that part EVA using that specific exit instead of trying to use a parts default hatch.
Well today I learnt something new! I had no idea that you could do that, thanks! Its how I got him in so I was a bit confused as to why he couldn't get out. And thats absolutely fair, its why I mentioned it at the beginning, so people could discover stuff for themselves if they wanted to.
The reason it’s not going to be considered KSP 2 is because private division needs to make money off of KSP 2.

The real challenge now is that wheels in KSP are so jank and buggy 😬
I mostly was alright with them somehow in this! Apart from the front wheels of the rover being broken for no reason when it landed, but eh a quick save file edit fixed that, but yeah wheels can be super annoying in this game, and I imagine that yeah this update will make things a lot worse :’)

Now if the game didn't need 32GB of RAM it would be incredible. Still can't understand why they load so much into RAM, it's useless.
