"Decluttering at the Speed of Life" by Dana K. White changed my life for the better, immeasurably so. I avoided buying her book because it had the word "declutter" in it, and I loathed decluttering and the seemingly inevitable roller-coaster of emotions. I regret the wait. Her no-mess decluttering process is simple and straightforward. Even my super organised sister benefitted from reading it! I hope it might help you, too. Thanks for everything!

I use fabric conditioner, except towels. (The waxy residue means they don't dry you as well as without. ) I clean my detergent drawer in the dishwasher on hot. It gets most of it, a thin bottle brush gets rid of any residue.
Kate, I will have to tell you all about my 'ordeal' (let's just say, no cooker, only half a kitchen, been cooking with rice cooker, steamer basket on it and indoor grill!!! Christmas dinner not happening) after Christmas but for now, I am wishing you Kate, and Mike and your family Merry Christmas, a lovely time with your family, lots of laughter and fun 🤗💓

@@CleanWithKate-l4h Yes Kate, my son ripped off the top cabinet over the countertop dishwasher. That's how it started. Then he proceeded to rip out the bottom and top cabinets on the opposite side without checking first how long it would take for new cabinets to be delivered. The shop said 4 to 6 weeks at which point my hair was standing up. So, I found a quicker solution - we have everything delivered, minus baseboard and quarter something or other. However, then I had to pick a color and Kevin and Robin started washing walls where cabinets were off. They moved the stand alone cabinet that was there and the cooker and all of cabinet/drawer contents to God knows where 😂 Leaving me with the bottom cabinets, the sink, the coffee maker, the rice cooker and steamer basket, the indoor grill and a small slow cooker (I complained that I needed something to cook). Been quite creative with those items - have made Flounder on the grill, while potatoes were cooking in the rice cooker and vegetables steamed in the basket. BUT, I can hardly cook Christmas dinner in a rice cooker 😂 Just a couple of days ago Kevin said 'probably wasn't the best idea to start this project now'...😱
Oh no 😱 that’s the sort of thing my DH would do to . I remember you mentioning it a couple of weeks ago but I thought they would get something sorted for you . Are they going to take you out for Christmas dinner ?
@@CleanWithKate-l4h Well, now that all the cabinets, countertops, hardware is here, Robin has put half the floor in and assembled two bottom cabinets on one side and one hanging cabinet on the same side, but that is not up yet as I told him to wait for Kevin. I think the two of them are planning on getting the cabinets on one side in and then move the cooker back in its place until the new one arrives mid January. I just got done explaining to Robin that I can manage to make a meal with the indoor grill and the rice cooker/steamer IF need be. And taking me out for Christmas dinner is a hard NO lol It's ok though, if the cooker isn't back in its place I will figure something out, I always do :) And they did leave me the side with the sink, so that's a plus. Will be fun when that side goes in. The kitchen will look lovely when it's done - I went for a Lemon Meringue wall color (pastel yellow, very pale - I wanted something friendly and inviting) and white cabinets from ugly honey colored very plain maple cabinets I have hated for the past 26 years and Walnut butcher block countertops versus some laminate poop the builders put in a year before we bought the house. They put a wood grain looking one on one side and a plain white one on the other. Completely ugly and mismatched but we were young and....you know. I was considering something like Quartz countertops but with the house being a log cabin and there being beams throughout the house I felt a white kitchen would need a wood component so it doesn't look out of place. I am looking forward to the completed project as my goal was to brighten the space and I think that will be achieved. As for Christmas dinner - worst case scenario I will pretend this is a survival house and the grill and the rice cooker is what I have been using for months to cook to survive haha It's better than having to cook outside at -10 Fahrenheit or using Military Rations 😂 It just won't be a traditional Christmas dinner, is all. It's just stressing me out that things are strewn all over the place...on the dining table too and things everywhere. Everything that was in the cabinets on the one side.. Talk about Hotspots, at the moment, the whole downstairs is a huge Hotspot.But that will get sorted also, I am sure.
Love 🥰 your approach to it to make it into an adventure . And as no one will have high expectation it may end up being one of the most relaxed 😌 christmases ever .
I use on most washes for the scent as we are on well water. Done so much laundry, for us and my partners mother due to her went in hospital last Saturday and came home yesterday but still not completly well. The doctors found out she has rheumatism and alot of inflammation in her body😢.

Give the dress a few minuets in tumble drier it'll remove tissue and/or fluff .
