    Great job. Here in New England this is common too. A good friend who restored Model Ts and As, didn't do it on his restorations as they were no longer street driven, but he did every year on his 70s something Ford van daily driver. He drove it for 30+ years with no rust. They were notorious for rusting.
    My case is a little different. I do frame offs with the Jeeps. I clean the inside with air many times and use a scope to make sure. Then I weld shut every alignment hole not being used (I know, I know) then use Eastwood Inner Frame Sealer and Rust oleum, now Rust oleum Implement paint. Same on the tub.

    I use Eastwood Internal Frame Coating in the Aerosol can with the long hose that sprays out in like six different directions. it works great and it dries on and you never have to worry about it again

    I did the same and the mistake I made was not using primer. Rust came back pretty fast to my opinion

      Gotta keep it oiled up always.
      The oil likes to absorb into the rust and then it stops it .
      The painting is there just to look pretty

    Thats just awesome....I love TJ jeeps and none of them survive because of frame rot...I sold mine because of this, They use a super concentrated solution of brine where I live to melt the snow on the highways and it destroys metal and even wiring. Your solution would be a cheap way to combat this....THANKS

    Those frame rails were already rusting on the inside, how is paint gonna help that jeep "never rust again" (5:24)? I could see this slowing the progression a bit, but that's it.... Check out the por15 videos on here, to see what I mean.

      You obviously didn't watch the whole video.
      The paint is there just to make it look nicer the oil is what makes it stop rusting.
      Oil guard annually inside the frame to stop rust. The paint has nothing to do with it.
      Thanks for the feedback though.

      @@ProblemSolverGarage If you did that from day1, sure.... But tell me again how you "cured cancer" I'd like to see it in 10yrs, my guess it that frame will be someone else's problem by them. If you keep it great! If you sell it like this... shame shame on you.

      @@tshackelton I keep all my cars, and I oil guard all of them, trust me it's not going to rust anymore. I'll do an update in 10 years.
      The oil soaks into the rust and stops it.
      Well known fact around these parts. Thanks for watching though.
      I do this to all my vehicles I have nine vehicles none of them rust since I got them.

      @@ProblemSolverGarage I'm happy to hear your keeping it! I really would love to see a followup, or even one of your other vehicles you've done this to. I hope you understand why I'm skeptical about such a claim. I've always heard once rust starts.... there is only 1 fix, cut it out (just like cancer).

      @@tshackelton for sure I understand your skepticism, I'm 45 years old and I still have my high school car with zero rust on it that is still drive, my father and I have been oil guarding annually when I was a kid and now I've kept doing it annually for almost 30 years on that car, it has zero rust and it was a rusted car to begin with when I got it, It's a Nissan pulsar, a car known for rusting away.
      I also have a 69 Mercedes I've had it for 12 years same story, zero new rust since I started oil guarding it , check out some of my other videos. One is a 69 Mercedes the other one is a 1987 Nissan pulsar.
      Both good examples of rust proofing, and how good it works. I'm guessing you live in California or something. Common knowledge around here honestly.

    Can you spray paint into the frame?

    • @ProblemSolverGarage
      @ProblemSolverGarage  2 месяца назад +1

      You're better off not to so the oil can absorb into the rusted areas.

    arent you afraid of creating possible fire hazard

    • @ProblemSolverGarage
      @ProblemSolverGarage  2 месяца назад +1

      This is how we do it here in Canada.
      The mild paint thinner evaporates over the course of one day. Just a very thin layer of oil remains.
      Shops even do this here .
      People get their cars done before winter annually

      My uncle used to spray down the bottom of his truck every year with a pump sprayer full of diesel. Never caught fire, and never rusted.
