Agreed. The immediate problem with social media is the notion that our lives are not significant if it is not being witnessed/ 'validated' by an audience. This leads to neurosis . Too much false public indulgence is not healthy and is a bad seed planted in a rotten orchard with more manure than life.
Dealing with mental disorders is daunting, especially if you've been forced - for so many years - to put on a mask of constant bubbliness and joy, to please everyone else. I actually think it's refreshing to see Venus giving her facial muscles some rest, and allowing herself NOT to smile constantly for our sake. She is being as truthful and transparent with her feelings as she can allow herself to be. And showing this side to the internet is a brave thing to do. She is finally giving things the importance they have, and not worrying insanely about her image and how she portrays herself. I find that liberating and commendable. ^^
She is so ill on psychical and biologcial level (effects of the stomach-interstine operation; her skin + her eyes seem to yell I-am-ill obvious for everyone who is trained in that field even through the editied camera and this is NOT the normal I-am-very -pale she is yellow-grayish) that she is in no position to act normal. She was already very off since her hospital stay but the last weeks she seems mentaly disturbed and deranged. Going outside and trying to get better doesn't change that fact like so many want to interpret that. She finaly realised to some extent in what a horrorable condition she is and that she cannot function anymore and needs to do something. Sadly because of her condition and her lack of wise supporting family and no proper health care insurance it is very unlikely that she is going to be better. Most Vangelics are way to naive positiv about her. She needs intensiv health care in many ways.

So kudos to this warm wave of kindness. :) As someone who has struggled with a number of mental issues for over 10 years, and lived in a situation which caused consistent stress and anxiety, I can say that you CAN get better. I haven't healed completely, no. I have emotional scars that will stay with me for life, and nerve damage that makes me shake randomly every other day. But I am better, because I took steps to improve myself and my life. Even when I felt like just dying. So let's be less defeatist, because I am sure that inside Venus' head, the defeat and self-deprication is loud and clear already. Adding to that would be unwise and entirely counter-productive.

When my aunt stopped her medication for depression and anxiety (it's in the family) she got alot worse than she thought so maybe it's better to keep on taking your meds. Of course it sucks but at some point you just have to decide what you want and if it's being happy again just do all you can to make it, even in weeks that are like hell. Recovery is hard and I too have lots of shity weeks but if you want to get better don't stop treating yourself. (I guess this is more of a advise to remind me of what my goal is. At the moment my anxiety is worsening and I just want to be happy again like I was last month..) Good luck to all of us! 🍀
When you start actually getting better, it's a struggle finding yourself even more if it's been years of mental illness and/or trauma, also having feelings again can be sometimes overwhelming. i don't think she looks tired i think she is just struggling and it's a good thing she's not hiding it, it's also a part of recovering. recovering is difficult and venus is very strong, we are all here for you, girl, you deserve everything good💖 i wish i could hug you, i understand you, my depression can't be cured and I've gotten so much better, but sometimes i need to hear from someone else that I've been strong. And i know for a fact that you are strong, I'm proud of you.

She is so ill on psychical and biologcial level (interstine operation) she shouldn't drink alcohol at ALL. It is pure poison in her condition same with the rubbish she seems to eat again. She is on a very destructive way and it is irritating how many of her fans don't want to get that because they want so derly interpret everything in the way that she is doing better.
I really like that you mention making sure your animals are fed and taken care of as part of your coping. When I'm going through rougher patches with mental illness knowing that my animals rely on me and taking care of their needs makes me feel better. I think that some people would think that kind of pressure would just make someone already having problems more stressed but honestly I think for a lot of folks with mental illness it makes us feel like we have more reason to stay alive because we don't know what would happen to them if we disappeared.

I had severe depression for 7 years but what helped me to get out of it (not even joking) was mostly sarcasm and dark humor. (Along with meds and check-ups with my psychiatrist.) But everyone deals with it in their own way. I also followed your journey with an eating disorder/ the surgery that went really wrong and I respect you for your strength. I had anorexia years ago and I must say it never leaves the back of my mind.
I had a similar parent child dynamic as you, we're the same age, I'm really glad you're trying to take care of yourself. It's a lot to unpack emotionally and it takes a lot of time to heal but you're strong enough to make it through, thank you for being so open with your struggles, as someone who can relate it means a lot. At some point my therapy and madication made me be fine, I got the hang of my life (or so I though) so my psychiatrist told me to try stop taking meds little but little and I got the worst I've been in my life, I had to take meds again and go back to therapy. I have depression, anxiety and a couple things with problems with food and I'm always portraying like a character that it's the happy person, but I'm not that person. At least, not always. I'm mostly quiet when I am by myself. Portraying a character almost 24/7 isn't sane so I'm glad you can just talk the way you want.
As someone who just got diagnosed with Chronic Depression, Anxiety, and OCD, your videos about being really and authentic and the struggles of what it’s like to have a mental illness really give me strength. It’s ok to make videos showing the good and the bad. It’s a roller coaster and there’s plenty of (what feels like) steps back along the way to wellness.

dude wow, i love this, venus. long time viewer here. you rock. i feel you with dark clothes and jazz. i am the same way and love jazz. i play a lot when im driving and feeling anxious or distressed. that got easier with meds. i was off for a while too. big mistake lol anxiety came rushing back. anyway, i resonate with how you feel (i struggle a lot because of physical/mental/emotional abuse/trauma too, id love to see your methods of coping, i have a few but could always use more variation). i know im just a fan but i feel like we'd be good friends. thanks for being so honest with your viewers. sorry if thats weird. take care, big virtual hug!!! xx
When my aunt stopped her medication for depression and anxiety (it's in the family) she got alot worse than she thought so maybe it's better to keep on taking your meds.
Of course it sucks but at some point you just have to decide what you want and if it's being happy again just do all you can to make it, even in weeks that are like hell.
Recovery is hard and I too have lots of shity weeks but if you want to get better don't stop treating yourself.
(I guess this is more of a advise to remind me of what my goal is.
At the moment my anxiety is worsening and I just want to be happy again like I was last month..)

When you start actually getting better, it's a struggle finding yourself even more if it's been years of mental illness and/or trauma, also having feelings again can be sometimes overwhelming. i don't think she looks tired i think she is just struggling and it's a good thing she's not hiding it, it's also a part of recovering. recovering is difficult and venus is very strong, we are all here for you, girl, you deserve everything good💖 i wish i could hug you, i understand you, my depression can't be cured and I've gotten so much better, but sometimes i need to hear from someone else that I've been strong. And i know for a fact that you are strong, I'm proud of you.

She is so ill on psychical and biologcial level (interstine operation) she shouldn't drink alcohol at ALL. It is pure poison in her condition same with the rubbish she seems to eat again. She is on a very destructive way and it is irritating how many of her fans don't want to get that because they want so derly interpret everything in the way that she is doing better.

I really like that you mention making sure your animals are fed and taken care of as part of your coping. When I'm going through rougher patches with mental illness knowing that my animals rely on me and taking care of their needs makes me feel better. I think that some people would think that kind of pressure would just make someone already having problems more stressed but honestly I think for a lot of folks with mental illness it makes us feel like we have more reason to stay alive because we don't know what would happen to them if we disappeared.

I had severe depression for 7 years but what helped me to get out of it (not even joking) was mostly sarcasm and dark humor. (Along with meds and check-ups with my psychiatrist.) But everyone deals with it in their own way. I also followed your journey with an eating disorder/ the surgery that went really wrong and I respect you for your strength. I had anorexia years ago and I must say it never leaves the back of my mind.
It seems like your going through a really tough time right now but just remember it'll pass eventually, keep your chin up pumpkin 💕

I had a similar parent child dynamic as you, we're the same age, I'm really glad you're trying to take care of yourself. It's a lot to unpack emotionally and it takes a lot of time to heal but you're strong enough to make it through, thank you for being so open with your struggles, as someone who can relate it means a lot. I think you should just focus on making content that makes you happy in the meanwhile! :)

"I stoped therapy and meds but it got worse, so I had to go back" I FEEL IT.
At some point my therapy and madication made me be fine, I got the hang of my life (or so I though) so my psychiatrist told me to try stop taking meds little but little and I got the worst I've been in my life, I had to take meds again and go back to therapy. I got a little better but this only proved there's still so much to work on...

She was manipulated by her mother, and fell into the arms of someone who wanted to save her. He was in love from her videos, that doesn’t mean only because of her looks. She was vulnerable, and in a dangerously crazy toxic isolated life with her mother molding and commanding Venus to do as she said. She is a remarkably resilient person, who with very little therapy with a professional would be easily diagnosed for different disorders brought on by continued mixed messages, and a mother who is a narcissist/ psychopath. She made mud of her own child’s name for forsaking her. The whole thing is disgusting. I have often put Venus in my prayers...prayers that she can rise above the craziness using her artistic/ playful/ entertaining content. She is a human being that is being put under a microscope at all times. She has an inmate goodness. Her mother does not. Do t you think there is a reason she identifies with all things pink/cute/yummy/happy- that is who she really is at her core. A sweet child who was manipulated and left alone for most of her life... her mother is a sick monster. Put yourself in Venus’s shoes. I am grateful she is still with us, exactly as she is. I wish I could hang out with her, and just let her vent her traumas and dramas. I deal with a mother who is a narcissist. It is a scary way to grow up. Your way of talking really makes me feel... Like myself. I have depression, anxiety and a couple things with problems with food and I'm always portraying like a character that it's the happy person, but I'm not that person. At least, not always. I'm mostly quiet when I am by myself.

As someone who just got diagnosed with Chronic Depression, Anxiety, and OCD, your videos about being really and authentic and the struggles of what it’s like to have a mental illness really give me strength. It’s ok to make videos showing the good and the bad. It’s a roller coaster and there’s plenty of (what feels like) steps back along the way to wellness.
Its very interesting to me how you mostly think in German/English!
