people don't understand alcoholism doesn't start with someone who wanted it, but rather it's mostly trauma based. and it's so hard (depending on where you live) to find treatment that can actually help you.

My mom had the same surgery you had and after she started turning to alcohol heavily and became a full blown alcoholic. (This surgery actually increases chances of developing alcoholism 😢) Unfortunately she passed away but i don’t think you remember but we talked a bit a few years ago. It really saddened me because I could understand what you’re going through. I’m so so glad that you are improving and I wish you continued happiness ❤

I heard about the drama with you and your mum, the hubby, running away, losing access to your accounts, rumors making the rounds, then the switch from make up and cute stuff to those eating vids and so on. I'm sorry that you have to go through so much, including this fight against addiction. I do not know you irl and only see a fraction, but I care and I hope you will get through all this. True, though stimulants hit people with AD(H)D differently and might have some positive effect on her ability to focus, much like Concerta or Adderall. Probably not great to combine the two without Dr. supervision though.
Alcoholics who especially struggle to stay sober often are encouraged to replace alcohol with a "lesser vice." The cliche of AA meetings is coffee, donuts, and cigarettes. The idea is that while it still isn't good for them, it's not as dangerous for them as alcohol (since they can't stop drinking once they start), so it's worth it if it prevents them from relapsing. I'm not advocating for this method, but it is a very common approach.
Congratulations Venus on where you are today. I don't expect it to be smooth sailing from here on, and you shouldn't either, but I feel confident you're building the skill of picking yourself up when you fall. I love you 💜

my father has an alcohol addiction and keeps stopping for a week or two before drinking again and then his entire body shuts down, and he gets sick. over and over. so, i am so freaking proud of you. i hope you don't fall back into drinking again. i'm not sure if this would help but whenever you think about drinking, remind yourself of all the negative effects that come after you drink. puking, headache, stomachache etc.

You could start doing little projects to keep you & your mind busy. Maybe, do a DIY project? Something like painting your acoustic guitar pink & white or something? Than, learn how to restring & tune it. Doing all these little things, even if it's just around your house, can _really_ help you to occupy your time. There's also a ton of other things that you CAN do. Try everything once, you never know what your next favourite thing could be. YOU ARE SO STRONG! You got this sweet heart. 💕💕

We all make mistakes, we all get taken advantage of in some way and we all need help when we hit rock bottom. I hope your fiancé is treating you well and you have a long engagement. I have always hoped and prayed you could have a happy life because I've watched you since you started and seen you continue to grow as a person. A lot of people struggle with depression, anxiety, alcoholism etc and not many people want to ask for help. I was once forced into the hospital because of suicidal thoughts and tendencies. It helped a lot even though I didn't want to do it. I'm hoping for you to have a happier future very soon. You're doing amazing and working hard.

yup i could relate to alot of the symptoms. currently going through this whole thing were i have to admit i am an alcohol addict. it's not fun because then i have to actually stop drinking. currently i always go before the store closes and 'only' buy 1-2 drinks so when i want to have more, I CAN'T. during the day i just sleep or distract myself to the max. i just recently started admitting to myself i have a problem. i feel ashamed. i don't like the casheers reconizing me because i buy drinks nearly everyday. but even if i make it through the day without liqour i keep thinking about it. i don't buy huge bottles of vodka that would maybe last me longer because i know i wouldn't stop drinking and get way too wasted. i just hate being in my own head. i'm already in therapy. for other issues. and i slowly started talking about it and my therapist is very kind about it and trying to help me through the shame. especially during the holiday season its hard not to drink. i feel lonely, i feel stressed...my wallet hates me haha. Edit: this got me thinking and now I am 7 days sober! The journey is just beginning
be totally honest with your therapist and you will get through this too. i believe in you! shame is human; shame is what tells us that we're making bad decisions and we want to stop. that next step is asking for help. you don't need to do this alone.
I'm glad you're uploading videos like this so that people with similar problems feel not as isolated. I hope that you also have close people though with whom you're able to discuss stuff like this as well as I'm sure their emotional support is more intimate and reassuring than what you can get from 'random' viewers.

Thank you for your honesty! Someone wrote you should write a biography and I second that! I mean not necessarily now, but when you are long term stable. Because you made huuuuge steps, but as you said addition is a condition that stays with you even when you stop drinking. I root for you, am proud and so inspired. I struggle with depression and addiction too and I know it’s hard. And lying to oneself is so easy, at least I do it all the time. You encourage me to be honest to at least myself and my therapist thank you so much Venus❤
I have to imagine that a lot of this is due to what your mom put you through as a kid. She has a lot to answer for, though maybe some of it is due to whatever she was put through when she was a kid. Generational trauma is a thing. Anyway, you were dealt a really bad set of cards early in life. This was a pretty rough rock bottom to hit, too. my father has an alcohol addiction and keeps stopping for a week or two before drinking again and then his entire body shuts down, and he gets sick. over and over. so, i am so freaking proud of you. i hope you don't fall back into drinking again. i'm not sure if this would help but whenever you think about drinking, remind yourself of all the negative effects that come after you drink. puking, headache, stomachache etc.

You could start doing little projects to keep you & your mind busy. Maybe, do a DIY project? Something like painting your acoustic guitar pink & white or something? Than, learn how to restring & tune it. Doing all these little things, even if it's just around your house, can _really_ help you to occupy your time. There's also a ton of other things that you CAN do. Try everything once, you never know what your next favourite thing could be. YOU ARE SO STRONG! You got this sweet heart. 💕💕

Super happy to hear you’ve stopped caring what other people think! I’m not an addict and never have been, but it runs in my family so I’ve been close to it my whole life. I also have a super self-destructive past that I’m just starting to come out of so I can relate on that level. On the bad days just know you have so much love and support
Im sorry if my english is incorrect, but i feel I must write this, most mental health medication combined with alcohol or energy drinks may cause bad side effects:( When I heard about your heart palpitation I thought it could be because of that:( Its twice times more dangerous to drink alcohol and energy drinks when taking medications.. I have always hoped and prayed you could have a happy life because I've watched you since you started and seen you continue to grow as a person. A lot of people struggle with depression, anxiety, alcoholism etc and not many people want to ask for help. I was once forced into the hospital because of suicidal thoughts and tendencies. It helped a lot even though I didn't want to do it. I'm hoping for you to have a happier future very soon. You're doing amazing and working hard.

yup i could relate to alot of the symptoms. currently going through this whole thing were i have to admit i am an alcohol addict. it's not fun because then i have to actually stop drinking. currently i always go before the store closes and 'only' buy 1-2 drinks so when i want to have more, I CAN'T.
during the day i just sleep or distract myself to the max.
i just recently started admitting to myself i have a problem. i feel ashamed. i don't like the casheers reconizing me because i buy drinks nearly everyday. but even if i make it through the day without liqour i keep thinking about it. i don't buy huge bottles of vodka that would maybe last me longer because i know i wouldn't stop drinking and get way too wasted. i just hate being in my own head.
i'm already in therapy. for other issues. and i slowly started talking about it and my therapist is very kind about it and trying to help me through the shame.
especially during the holiday season its hard not to drink. i feel lonely, i feel stressed...my wallet hates me haha.
Edit: this got me thinking and now I am 7 days sober! The journey is just beginning
be totally honest with your therapist and you will get through this too. i believe in you! shame is human; shame is what tells us that we're making bad decisions and we want to stop. that next step is asking for help. you don't need to do this alone.

Thank you for your honesty! Someone wrote you should write a biography and I second that! I mean not necessarily now, but when you are long term stable. Because you made huuuuge steps, but as you said addition is a condition that stays with you even when you stop drinking. I root for you, am proud and so inspired. I struggle with depression and addiction too and I know it’s hard. And lying to oneself is so easy, at least I do it all the time. You encourage me to be honest to at least myself and my therapist thank you so much Venus❤
I have to imagine that a lot of this is due to what your mom put you through as a kid. She has a lot to answer for, though maybe some of it is due to whatever she was put through when she was a kid. Generational trauma is a thing. Anyway, you were dealt a really bad set of cards early in life. This was a pretty rough rock bottom to hit, too. I'm glad you're coming through it in one piece and that now you know where to find support. You deserved better-every child does-and now maybe you can have it. Good luck, and hey: take it easy. ❤️
