LOL Ray appearing out of nowhere at the end and immediately joining in on the bit had me laughin. Excellent work Ray.
Remember to hold your breath while you’re welding that galvanized .
Spray all the wood that is turning black from the start of black mold with deck wash, It contains
I like to mix non-shrink grout in a 2 gallon ziplock bag and cut the corner so you can apply it like cake icing.
So much to take in from this episode. Jono going to be crushing it on the dating scene if he isn’t already. That house is an absolute beast. It’s also nice to know that someone like me on the west coast can relate to you Eric. My wife is in school again working on her doctorate. She has exercise equipment beside her desk. And we have similar snazzy area rugs😂
It's amazing how much the framing wood has already weathered/changed color. Didn't expect it to look that gray'ish already. Nice work, as usual!
“Yes Perkins, what do you need?!” 😂😂
Jay talks junk and cuts up and all but man, he's always there. Strikes me as a loyal employee/friend and a standup guy. Same for all the crew of course but in my experience the cut-up is often the one dragging around and slowing everyone down. Jay keeps morale up!
Love how you explained it then showed it. I’ll likely never build a floating slab like this but it was great that you brought me along. ❤
That's one of the great thing about the guys.
Western North Carolina - - Hope you all have been spared from the terrible aftermath of the hurricane. Love your channel.
No comments on Jamie’s singing? An expert builder, and crooner? What a man!
The Jhonooooo maneuver? Outstanding
Love it, just love how these guys work “together”!
Watch out for those galvanized fumes Jamie. It got me once.
I laughed out loud when Jason said "they almost became decking!" 🤣
The yes Team of Ray & Jay!! Thanks guys!! KUTGW
Roof truss delivery day! And so much more! Gettin’ done bit by bit! ❤
This thing becomes more and more unbelievable with each video! That weapons vault is terrifying! What’s he going to put in there? A tank?
So impressed with that suspended slab. Looking great.
Great Teamwork 👍👍Really coming together 👍👍A great watch 🥳🥳
It’s called plug welding when you’re doing the decking. We never pre drill, we let the rod burn the hole for us, so much faster. Then again I was previously in the ironworkers union lol
17:46 Love the little concrete cloud in the background ☁️
"What kinda raise are you trying to get right now?“ 🤣🤣🤣
Never change Ray, never change! 🤣 🤣 🤣
I am excited for the crane episode(s). I work with them all the time.
Get a telehandler! This is from experience. Small crew, big house, you need the right equipment.
you assume they can get one. With all the roofs that need fixing after the hurricane, I'd imagine they are pretty hard to come by. Surprised the crane would of come if it wasn't broken down.
@@michaelkaster5058 Should have had one from day one. Besides, large companies like united rentals will ship one from out of state if it's needed.
If you watched Matt Cremona's build videos of his barn, he used his telehandler constantly and it made a huge difference. A used one is $30-60k, not cheap but it will pay for itself quickly and they can be used to unload trucks and move materials around on site and like a million other things. OSHA-approved man-baskets let you avoid needing scaffolding in some cases.
It wouldn't do any good, telehandlers wouldn't have enough reach and height for the trusses, think it would struggle with reach even lower given the weight of the trusses!
@@michaelkaster5058 They had many months to get one. They're just always avoiding to pay for cranes and such equipments.
Imagine a future house project where the trusses need to be painted. :)
If you dont have Tapcons, like for that Grout Form, you can use Deck screws but first insert a piece of wire in the drilled hole first...it will coil around the screw and anchor it..from an - Home Builder -Italian Contractor tip..
If that pan is galvanized, the fumes from the weld are pretty toxic. consider a respirator. The trusses almost knocking into the deck columns was a pucker factor moment!
Glad you guys managed to find Jaimie since the last video, so we could hear that beautiful singing voice of his 🎤🎶
Hey, really glad to see you guys back after ALL the weather came to your build site! Is there anything I can help with to speed up the recovery?
I wouldn't mind longer videos I can't get enough the videos just fly by way too fast, 20 minutes goes by like 2 minutes! Love the videos if you could do more please do! This is my favorite house you guys have done so far!
Mine too. I can't wait to see it done. It will be beautiful!
Great job
Love your videos, greetings from Russia.
As structural welder, I hate stick welding 7018 but it's better 6010. I prefer flux core. It's gravy compared to running stick. Either way, that's a good bit of welding for a house.
“Yes is the answer. What’s the question?” Love that!
I'm feelin kinda right right now baby. 😂 Al b sure !!!
Did you film Jamie’s reaction to the deck columns? Did he cut one open? We gotsta know!
ELASTOMERIC BEARING PAD sometimes used as bearing pads on roadway bridges. Try using a desktop computer and double monitor while editing.
I fully understand about a store feeling ‘normal’ after a hurricane. It took about 4-7 days here in Augusta GA after the same hurricane.
Surely with the amount of work you do, you could get a deal with a rental company to have a telehandler on site to make life easier.
Maybe you could find a second hand 1 to buy but then you’ve got the cost recovery, storage, insurance…etc to worry about
Not now with the hurricane
Hurricane Milton got us pretty good here in Florida im just south of Tampa in Venice
with the forms for the NS mortar, Expanding foam is your friend and then comes right off later
"4000mg of caffeine" "no sir" LOL
pretend the non-shrink grout is cake decorating cream in its funnel. that best way get deep in a small narrow space
Click Funnels...lol
Anyone else notice on Eric's grout on the floor clean up that he used the newest sponsor, Tub O Towels and his trowels!!!
Obviously late, but I found on all the high-rise pandeck projects I've been on, a rotohammer bit will bust right through that pan. It's obnoxiously loud, BUT it's pretty fast and saves your normal drill bits.
This is what we do. Those rotohammer bits will go through almost everything. The new ones that can go through rebar are even better.
Since you pre-drilled the hole, that's a plug weld, rather than a puddle weld, where you use the arc to burn through to the supporting steel.
buildingfoam/sprayfoam... squirt first and put the form inplace... easier to clean after... can spray under the formedge also
Yup. Been there…
6010 welding rods will be what you should use to weld decking...
Omg I thought Jay said Jamie's welding his hand to the angle iron. Had to rewind and listen closely and heard pan, hahaha
The perfect team, Eric the leader, Jamie the brains, Jason the joker, Ray and Jono the grafters.
I started watching the video and I liked it when I hit play. I was the 13th like... 774 likes when I was done watching. You guys are killing it. Ha! Added 50 more as I was typing this!
i though it was bad over here,UK, with early christmas decorations
Look how skinny Jono got! What’s he doing? Jono you look great bro! 👍😂
Nice
Clean up in aisle 5… should’ve used the Lexel!
You would think by now Jason wouldn’t doubt Jono!
❤❤
For some reason YT deletes a lot of my likes that I give to videos including your videos. Not sure why they would be censoring and prohibiting reach. Either way, I left another like LOL God bless
To weld that type of decking you are supposed to use a welding washer.
what kind of raise you trying to get? LOL
Was “that NASCAR guy” you got the coffee from Noah Gragson? 😂
Only 3/4 of Jono is showing up for work.
Hey guy's
You can use a four way hammer drill bit an it will go through the metal. Four way Fluat
maybe add washers on top of the Weld when you do puddle welds..coz it may year otherwise..in extreme conditions..but the weight of the slab alone will push it down..
Somebody buy Jono a cheeseburger, there ain't much of him left😂
I have a question for Jason, is that crescent wrench metric or imperial? Gotta make sure you're using the right one for the job buddy.
Yes Perkins, you wanted me?
4 min in woo hoo❤❤❤great job guys
The grout properties look like 12,000 psi concrete we supplied to a skyscraper job we did in downtown Charlotte but with admixtures and no water.
Adjustable spanner - a swedish invention 🇸🇪
👍👍
I like Jono's immediate "no sir" when you said 4000mg of caffeine.
We get the point MEGA WINS
Will the masonry bit not just blow right through the pan decking?
We always used to just dry pack around the edges of the form before we report that stuff
Call Arlo and ask him how to use non-shrink grout.
Are those Bojangles sunglasses?!? 😂
Haha I would have 'framed out' the self leveling grout with duct tape.
Hey hey!
Do you use the lexel as adhesive too? Wood to Wood, wood to concrete?
They make the tool called a drill doctor, It works great is fast and makes drill bits like new in 60 seconds
My experience is add double top plate after putting 1-1/2” spacers and string lines between plumbed corners/tees and brace out of plane to straighten. Why stiffen a top plate and then push to plumb?
A grinder and paint make me the welder i ain't
The building work is impressive but even more impressive is Eric editing on a track pad 😳
I have been watching for a while but this build is taking forever. I guess I could pay you money to see way ahead and be a member but not gonna do that. If I was homeowner I would be concerned. Like Jason said alot is overkill. Don't think I'm not gonna watch because I framed houses with my father in law for years with just the three of us. Get it going to keep us regular guys watching . The best to ya'll. Getrdone
Hey guys ❤ why didn't you borrow Johnny Brookes MASSIVE drill? You would have finished by now 😂😂😂😂
Tapcons so the cement doesn't float up???? 😂
I took a sharp breath and squinted when he dropped those trusses.😅
How long before the wood starts to rot from the elements??
Did the studs grey out from that nasty storm?
Good morning
😃👍🏼👊🏼
What railing manufacturer kit did you use for the deck in the background of the flexispot ad? I have been looking for a top rail style with cable rail for my deck and have not come across one that pleases all parties.
they did videos on the deck and stairs. Maybe you can find it there
Getting cold, are you guy's going to add some sweatshirts to your line?
🙂
Got here before the video got published :D
👏👌👍💪
