"...an immense elven army. I felt like maybe that was my fault, for having started wars with 5 different elf civilizations last week, but oh well, it was time to get going"
Watching this while new to the channel and not having seen any of the previous videos has a special sort of comedy. The casual tone with which Hoodie explains each new, bizarre situation just adds to the absurdity, and what a brilliant absurdity is is. Subbed for sure
btw, having been watching Kruggsmash today following the steam release, your nazush video showed up on my front page (how I found the channel). Hooray for the algorithm!
By the time Adventure Mode comes to steam. you will have another set of stories to tell as you adventure for the first time to all the forgotten forts :D I'm looking forward to doing this myself :)
This video has seriously made me reconsider how I want to aproach dwarf fortress worlds. I normally one and done most of them and I delete them after a single fortress
I just learned last month about the game, through a video that popped up on my RUclips feed. It's the one of the developer describing the "bug" of cats dieing jn the tavern. I thought oh I'll wait till the release of the steam version, but I got so into watching and reading the stories that I had to try it out myself now. I'm so hyped for the steam version!
I believe they said your worlds will be transferable to the steam version. Just drag it into the save folder for the steam version. Edit: Mishear/read stuff; pretty much, you can still use the old versions of dwarf fortress from their website.
Really liked this video, I have been messing around with Dwarf Fortress adventure mode a bit myself, but I figured it was best to wait for Steam release. I have almost zero knowledge of the game but I really want to get better at it and understand it. I'm really stoked for adventure mode on steam version, I just want to roam the lands with a fellowship.
the only differences between df classic and the steam version are ui tweaks, a new tileset, and a new soundtrack. maybe it'd be possible to import your current world into the steam version when it comes out?
this isn't true, there's numerous changes. A lot of things had to change in order to add clickable UI and mouse controls. Also just loads of bug fixing and new minor things.
Kobolds can't speak in a way that dwarves understand regardless. Only other creatures with the UTTERANCES tag can communicate with them. I don't remember how this works in adventure mode because I haven't run into a Kobold on it in years (primarily because as other races get updates they essentially power creep, meanwhile Kobolds have been relatively untouched for like 6 years and as such their civilizations get wiped out even faster than they used to).
Didn't you have that bug where upon switching from one gamemode to another, the majority of buildings and items in your fort would be put in random locations?

This is a nice way to say goodbye. I'm super stoked for the Premium release!
"and I could see all of it, because I had the walls removed during renovations" ahhhhh a true project man, never finish a project.

Nice to see a retrospective
"haunted house", "rollercoaster", "fortress of mandatory happiness"...
This guy is a madman.
Nice one Hoodie. Small neat bundle of nostalgia;) Let's go!
I should really stop making new worlds every time I want to make a new fortress...
I struggle to retire a fort, I think if I keep it running in the save, I might play it again ..... I never do.
Ohhh snap I’m so excited to see your steam edition fortresses! We’re so close!!
"The Valley Of Dead Bodies." - A sight for sore eyes!
I just found this and I gotta say, I'm into this content.
amazing work, you'll find great success with the new steam release public if you keep steady with these, I guarantee it !
cheers from Paris France !
I like to imagine the dwarves moved to the steam version too
It's fun to check in on the previous forts.
"Is this this an attack!" - Omg I'm laughing. I love it.
I'm reminded of fallout by this.
4 more days!
Steam edition, let's go!
I love this game, no more or less words, just that
Yessss, longer video, great stuff
Great stuff :) I'm really looking forward to the steam release!
Excellent send off hoodie! I should really rush my current fort that I haven't really done much in, give it a proper send off myself!

I heard there will not be adventure mode on steam release
@@josegc9802 No it will be released later on.
It's somewhat ironic how a human made dwarves make their civilisations in a river valley.
Can't wait for Adventure mode next year in premium!

No adventure mode yet
This is
amazing
are we gonna get more content once the steam version is out?
please i need it
I'll definitely be making at least the same amount of videos, maybe more depending on how busy I am with exam stuff
@@hoodiehair can't wait
The kobold is an intelligent undead capable of using magic. The thing is both kobolds and int undead don't speak
Also there's a good chance you have a Necromancer in you fort

what tileset are/were you using?
love the vids
this is the spacefox tileset!
Didn't you have that bug where upon switching from one gamemode to another, the majority of buildings and items in your fort would be put in random locations?
I think that was because that fort got conquered, not retired. decided not to take my adventure to that fort on the opposite side of the world.
wish I could play but I only have a mac
Doesn't steam have solutions for this?
@@jmanpolo5611 not yet
@@jinz0 dang
melancholic :, )
See ya!
can u give us a ROCK AND STONE in the next video pls
could you not take the savefile and put it in the steam version?
no they changed the file structure or something and they aren't cross compatible
@@hoodiehair ah that sucks i see
Can someone wake me up on the 6th? Thx
Good Games 🫡
A world died but a new one will soon be born. less buggy, faster and with better UX.
