    I appreciate this video I’m about to decide on whether it’s something I want to tackle with my 07 expedition, what year was yours? Is there a video of the install.

      Both of my expeditions have been 2008s. There’s a series of all that I have done on both expeditions.

    You're amazing 👏👏👏👏👏. Will you show how to clean or replace (if necessary) the gps antenna?

      I don’t have plans on that as of now, if it becomes an issue I will.

    Great video, I’m also replacing my wife’s 2012 expo but it’s 4x4 was able to unbolt the passengers side engine mount. Any tips on able to take off the driver side engine mount as the transfer case in the way ? Appreciate any advice

      The drivers side is the biggest pain, I had to buy a large 3/4 ratchet for the torque. It’s a single bolt, you cannot use an impact on because the nut will spin. Using a large pivoting ratchet was the answer. It just takes a while. Hope that helps….

    It's better tu removing the radsuport?? I have exactly problem ! Thx from video!!

      Removing the rad support just made it a lot easier and gave tons more room to work around the engine. It wasn’t a lot of work to take it off. Thanks for the comment.

    Question for you, I’m doing this job now, Herat did you do with the other huge harness that has the fuses in front of the engine? Did you remove it completely are just let it hang low when removing the engine?

    • @TheShopWorldWide
      @TheShopWorldWide  2 года назад

      I let it hang after everything was removed from the rad support. I had to move it around when removing and installing the engine.

    Another question for you, I’m losing my mind trying to put the new engine I purchased back in to the expedition. For some reason the flex plate is so close to the transmission where the teeth of the flex plate are getting caught on the studs of the torque converter. The trans is as far back as it can go with the mounts pushed back. Did you have to remove the trans from the mounts and lower the trans cross member to push the trans even more back? Thanks

      I did not remove the trans, I did loosin the bolts to the trans mount, but I was able to squeeze the engine in. It just took some work.

      Use a jack under the transmission. Jack it up n pull it back. You'll have to wiggle it around a bit but ounce u line ur guide pins just let Jack n hoist in together and it will work. Take ur time.

    Sounds like a bad exhaust manifold leak or lifter to me.

    And clean up your garage. Just looking at it tells me your not organized. People will skip your video just for that. A professional mechanic (Thats any good) keeps his tools in perfect clean organized condition. I learned ygat from my grandfather (Master mechanic 40 years) you could eat of his garage floor with his tools. He would wipe ea tool after use and put exactly where it goes. Perfect repair job every time.

    I appreciate you trying but this is a very poor video. If your intention is to teach others, you failed badly! But if your video was just show the youtube world that you took an engine out of a truck, then it was ok. But to me it was a waste of my time to watch it. I Learned nothin! Next time try and break the videos up in sections and teach us something?

      Thank you for your comment. To me this comment means you are searching RUclips for Professional tutorials from the book written by the manufacture. This channel is Definitely not that. I’m happy you had a family member who was a professional mechanic to teach you perfection in the mechanical world. I’ve learned over the years working from a small half stocked craftsman tool box. This is a video from another perspective of someone pulling a 5.4 out of a ford and rebuilding it. Im no professional mechanic. My career and expertise is in healthcare. This is a hobby at which I save money doing/learning fixing things my self and documenting them on RUclips. Which is 90% of RUclips. As for my shop, this is not a professional shop, it’s located in my backyard. Over the years I put stuff in my shop just like garage. I would love a full out shop, coated floors, bright lights, heck even a camera crew. But I don’t have that luxury. I make these videos in the hopes to entertain and show different amateur ways to do jobs that can save them money or just tinker with. Again thank you for you view and you opinion. Have a happy thanks giving.

      Back off. Appreciate your tips, but that's it. You ain't gotta drill him like that.
