  • In this video, we'll be comparing Yonex's Regna 98 and Regna 100 tennis rackets to determine which one is better. We'll be looking at the specifications and design differences between the two rackets, as well as testing them out on the court to see how they perform. By the end of this video, you'll have a better understanding of why one is better than the other.
Thank you Scientist Dan and Tracey for trying out the Regna 100 and 98.

I have a Regna 100 and in the beginning, I really loved the racket -- had both control and power. But then I changed my strokes -- learned to have more power and swing speed, and my balls started spraying on the Regna 100, even when I upped the tension from 48 to 52 (couldn't stay at 52 'cuz my arm started hurting so went down to 50). But I followed Tennis Spin's Harry's suggestion of adding weight to the 3, 9, and 12 o'clock positions (I added 4 grams each) for a total of 12 grams. OMG! Big difference. Now my shots stay in the court and much better plow-through. I don't know if I was able to replicate the Regna 98's magic, but I can now control the 100.

I have one Regna100 and love it. How could customize it if i want 301g ? Where put the weight ? My other raquet is the Head gravity tour with specs 301g.

I have Regna 100 and 98 both v3 brought from TW in Australia in February. Willing to sell the 100 . I am in the States. Prefer 98 but sweet spot is small. Serves and volleys are excellent with this racquet

I play with polys at the moment. But I have to save my arm wich is hurting. So my question is: wich Multifilament string would you recomend between Babolat Xcel, Tecnifibre Nrg2, Head Velocity or Babolat Addixion?
I want a string that are kind to my arm and have a great balance between control and power!
    Kind regards

When you say that they’ll be back, does that mean not in the 3rd party market?

I have 3 v3 regna 98s, two are perfectly matched and the third is heavier by approx 3gm but swingweight is heavier by ~10. Overall excellent build quality. Had to change the grips to a babolat leather grip, the yonex leather grip felt too small, made it feel a half size smaller than the stated size G3.

Tenniswarehouse had some a year ago, Tennisonly in Australia had some, too (that´s where I got mine from). But shipping and customs were damn expensive.
I woudn´t even dare to touch the 100, even the 98 has a little too much power. And it is kinda like a diva, it took me 4 months to adjust my backhand slice.

Have you tried the 2022 Generation 3 Regna 98? This looks like the 2019 Gen 2 Model.

So tell us, what off the shelf racquet that is available to us plays as good as this Regna 98? Either Yonex or other brands

Harry is enthusiastic about Regna and that’s great! I bought both last year after watching his video. My opinion of the racquet is different though. Tracey is a good sport.

What is your opinion on it?
I have the 98. I like it alot when I feel confident but on an off day I would not touch it. Sweet spot is tiny and unforgiving so it requires good footwork.

    • @islandmerchandise3017

@@DainichiKichi I find both to be too springy. Like Harry says, it hold the ball, then slings it out. No other racquet I’ve tried does this. I thought it was the strings but it’s not. I actually don’t like that feeling. It doesn’t feel stable with that slinging. Different parts flex and it’s very weird. The 98 with smaller head makes it even weirder. With lots of weight on the hoop it’s better. With looser strings it’s better. I prefer the regular ezone 98 without the sling and more stable. I really wanted to like it though, and Harry’s enthusiasm is contagious in a good way. I also tried confidential and also couldn’t use it. I use gravity tour with 55lbs ngr2 now. Hope this helps.

Pure Strike 98 (which is really only a 97.5) is a better Regna.

Stick with your rackets. Don’t buy more giant artificial rackets, it’s not going to help you. Save your money. Forget it. Learn to play with a traditional racket.

Can we get Gu and Chris back? Tracey lost all credibility when she said the 98 felt more powerful. The 100 gives you way more free power and it's not even close. Also, why are you featuring Dan so much? He may be a nice guy but he has no personality so it makes for boring vids.
I have multiples of the 98 and 100. I personally like both. The 98 is more precise but it requires better footwork, timing, etc. which is fine under normal circumstances. I live in Houston so in the summers here when I'm exhausted I appreciate the easier depth and power the 100 gives me.

dan has no credibility either, he goes on and on about weight, thickness, "feel" , power and just blabs watever he comes out with. then u see him play and its like LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL ok old hag. u really think he knows about tenis playing for 30yrs plus with that technique. harry too, dont tell me at that level he can tell 2 square inches apart ok?
