    I own both G3 versions of the Regna and apparently I'm in the minority but I actually prefer the 100 over the 98. The additional acreage provides for a more forgiving sweet spot and results in a more consistent return as the sets pile up. If I had the legs and court coverage of my youth, (I'm 61), I'd likely choose the 98 as the go-to but as a senior, the current Regna 100 is the finest racquet in my collection.
    I'm not sure why Harry would refer to the 98 as "the real one" other than comic sarcasm since individual styles and preferences would dictate a favorite. Nonetheless , I'm glad Yonex continues to offer both sizes.
    Having said all that, I can honestly say that my Osaka dragons deliver 90% of what I get with the Regnas so individuals will have to decide for themselves if the price difference is worth it but truth be told, I have friends with expanding collections of marginal racquets, each well over $100, so buying one Regna as opposed to three or four average racquets doesn't seem to be an extravagance.👍

      I agree with you 100%. I had a 98 and gave it to my wife who is younger and a much more experienced player than me (I'm 72 and began playing when I was 69). If I had bought a 100, I might still be playing with it. As for Harry and his references to the 98 as "the real one", if he's lucky, someday--after he's aged a bit more--he'll look back and realize what an ass he was...

    I own both and prefer my customized Regna 100 to 98. The reason most people don’t like the 100 is the weight. It’s too light to be played in stock form. And if you bring it up to 98 specs. It just delivers much more…

    I have Regna 98 and it is really great - I have also a Head Prestige Pro, Ezone 98, Wilson Pro Staff 97 and others. People say it is but it's only marginally better than an Ezone 98 - as an owner of both models I can say: not true, they are way different. Regna is more precise, more stiff and powerfull. When you hit Regna (on the sweet spot) it feels very light and almost efortless. But it is also very demanding one, you had to have very good technique, and it is very sensible to strings setup.

    A recommendation - tell us what you REALLY think? I mean, if all these coaches kept on saying how great it is - why not get it? Don't give me the crap about how expensive it is - it's not - if this is literally the tool of your trade, a price differential of $200 is literally a nothingburger. So really, tell us how you truly think about these racquets? Obviously they are not for you - why? Who you think it is for? What's so good about a $400 racquet that you can't get with a $200 racquet + $5 worth of lead tapes?

    • @gppgle
      @gppgle Год назад +1

      I think you cannot buy Regna from Harry's shop; he does not need to promote Regna as it is not related to his business at all.

    • @majormajor9672
      @majormajor9672 Год назад +2

      @@gppgle It's actually better content to talk about negatives maybe more than the positives. A racquet is "smooth" - that's a very strange way to describe it TBH. In real life, I'm sure coach Chris can pick up a frying pan and beat me 6:0 6:0, I'm not entirely sure what "smooth" does? Don't be like that wine connoisseur who tastes peaches with a hint of moonlight. I think the viewers care more about the negatives as much, if not more so, than the positives, so they can evaluate for themselves. :)

    • @gppgle
      @gppgle Год назад +2

      @@majormajor9672 I think with short review like that it won't be useful to people who need to make comparison/review to get a racquet. I did try Regna before, and the way it feels is hard to explain. "Smooth" is a right word, but it does not provide the quantifiable context, and again, it is hard to describe this special feeling when you hit with this Regna.

    • @walterhayley7252
      @walterhayley7252 Год назад +1

      @@majormajor9672 , go back and watch the video again--there were more adjectives than just "smooth", especially by Coach Jerod. Additionally, don't go shopping with your pants down around your ankles. I live in Japan and the racket shop I use sells the 98 and 100 Regna for roughly $270 usd (U. S. dollars). I bought one for my wife. She's a pretty damn good player and greatly prefers it to her Ezone 98. I've also played with it a few times. I get what people are talking about, and I understand why it's in demand--especially since Yonex only makes 200 per month. Still, I'm happy enough with my Extreme MP that I don't plan to go out and buy a Regna...

    • @nominal
      @nominal Год назад +1

      The best racket, it is, but it's only marginally better than a Ezone 98, some people aren't interested in paying more for that 10% difference

  • @grokker99
    @grokker99 Год назад

    Uhm, is Yonex paying Harry to talk up the Regna bc its a good racket for sure, but he talks about it as if it was designed and built by Zeus. If it was, itd cost thousands of dollars, and not a paltry $500.00, which is only $150 bucks more than the top tier rackets from other companies. Ive been playing with the Regna 98 for a year, rotating it with a Blade Pro and RF Pro Staf 97. First off, i feel the Regna cant generate pace on serves, so if youre a big server, the Regnas not going to impress you. Id take my Blade Pro or Pro Staff over the Regna any day for serves. The Regna performs well on groundstrokes, but it feels pretty stiff so lacks feel and touch. Overall, the Regna is priced at a premium bc of quality control imo, and not bc it combines some magical combination of weight, swingweight, and flex.

    • @walterhayley7252
