Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman not only getting one of the loudest pops of the year but simultaneously turning Reigns face while he's been off TV for months has to definitively prove that a good story is better than a good match 100% of the time.
It's not the story - it's the performers and the fans. The story is itself a repeat of countless "power struggle within the faction" with little meat around the bone. But fans like Paul, fans like Roman... Solo? He's attached himself to two people more over than he could hope to be. Why do fans like Paul again? Well, he's historically attached himself to acts that are over, for one, and for another he has a mouth and delivery like few others. He may be an obnoxious sycophantic grifter in real life, he does gets wrestling fans heated one way or the other. And Roman has been VERY over since returning from his initial cancer diagnosis with the "coolness" factor of the Bloodline (lots of clever marketing decisions with that one) helping to cement the initial good will heat.

I don’t think you can have Roman come back and get jumped like that. I think you need Paul Heyman returning with a neck brace on, the new Bloodline surrounds him, then Paul gets his evil grin on his face… Brock Lesnar music hits. Brock comes out like a mad man, the Bloodline scatters. Then you have Lesnar vs Fatu. Brock puts Fatu over with help from Bloodline interference. The numbers game is catching up to Lesnar until the Usos reunite. Then… and finally then… when Lesnar & the Usos look to be just outnumbered, Roman Reigns music hits. Reigns makes his slow walk out onto the stage and is furiously glaring at Solo.
Lol Dave always has to try bring it back to aew and pretend WWE isn't on a whole different level stories in WWE add so much to the matches that you can just get invested more in aew good matches sure but who cares really

But the 2005 ECW One Night Stand PPV is my all time favourite wrestling PPV, and that was mostly all RVD and Heyman. RVD pitched the idea and it was Heyman who was in charge of the show. Yeah, they allowed Piper to allude to something that happened in the NWA on WWF TV. But more importantly, it showed continuity. No Ricky Steamboat teaming with hated foes Jake Roberts and Randy Savage less than a year after their feuds because "oh we're all babyfaces now, so I forgive you for the DDT on the concrete and the whole crushing my larynx stuff."

My hope is we get a Survivor Series : War Games of the New Bloodline vs Reigns, Usos and The Rock. From Solo’s perspective…. Reigns and his brothers brought him in and he did what was asked, never spoke up, never spoke back. Everything was good. Then things disintegrated. Usos lost the Tag titles at Mania 39 and never got back. Rock comes back, things escalate. At Mania 40, Sikoa stays out of the way of The Usos match, stays out of the way of Night 1’s Main event, then does his part to perfection on Night 2 (hits Rhodes with Samoan Spike as planned, him getting an AA from Cena wasn’t what they planned could happen). Reigns is gone, Jay’s on RAW, Jimmy’s wounded so Solo puts him down. Solo (who’s done everything asked of him and really hasn’t done much wrong that hurts the Bloodline) believes in all the trappings of The Bloodline and now builds his own. He wants to do what Roman did…. But better. A Bloodline now where Jacob Fatu is the new Solo, one where Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa bring the tag belts back into the family, and finally, where Solo Sikoa becomes the World Champion AND the new Tribal Chief. It’ll be amazing when Roman looks at Solo, says ‘I know you built all this by myself…. but you weren’t anointed Solo……. I’M THE TRIBAL CHIEF….. ACKNOWLEDGE ME !!!’

40 minutes of cumming over the AEW show. 5 minutes of talking about Smackdown. Pretty typical. They spent the same amount of time talking about the main event of the door show as they did talking about all of Smackdown. Pretty cool stuff definitely not biased at all.
Bryan seems genuinely happy to be seeing some great storytelling. And Dave seems disheartened.

@@AdrianBeegoatz CM Punk is good at marketing himself and has a great delivery. We've seen that talking is all it really takes, but then stand up comedians could tell you that.
There are stand up comedians and other artists who never take a bump and would outdraw anyone on the WWE roster. At this stage, why take bumps and wrestle anyway if you can get more money and fame by simply talking? The rings and in-ring action are just in the way of the talking.
A lot of guys would be out of a job, but hey, that's showbiz.
