I know it's odd to say, but peak AEW for me was during the pandemic. They only had Dynamite, in Daily's Place, and it was something to look forward to and enjoy at a time when there wasn't much of that going round. AEW now is kind of sad, week to week. Shooting the stage off centre to hide the lack of crowd makes it feel like a guy wearing swim shorts in the gym shower.
I think they believe it makes them lesser than WWE because those smaller arenas have different amenities and they are trying to be a serious wrestling promotion. They don't want to run the same arenas TNA/NXT/Indies sometimes run
TK was born in a world with almost infinite money, he doesn't understand the concept of "waste of money"...that's the problem, he is not in the pro wrestling business to make money, he wants to pretend they are not at the level of TNA, NXT, etc.
Why don't they just find an arena in Jacksonville, their home base, and tape their TV there. Take PPVs on the road because they can still draw somewhat respectable crowds for those.
TNA and NXT are following the CORRECT part of the ECW model : getting more bang for your buck and a better atmosphere with smaller venues.. AEW just inherited the chaos of ECW
5 years ago I thought AEW could be legit competition to WWE and I loved it. Now, they are probably worse than TNA during their worst years, because at keasy TNA weren't humiliating themselves by booking empty arenas with no atmosphere.
Putting Mina and Harley together is probably the only booking decision Tony has gotten right 😂😂 Just need to bring in Lawler to commentate on there segments 😂
Don't do the things TNA used to do. Remember when these guys would rant about TNA's bad booking and name names - like Vince Russo and Dixie Carter. Imagine a five year old company getting that kind of treatment. Who's the booker and owner of AEW? Heard they were called Jacksonville Dixie, but this channel never mentions where AEW's bad booking is coming from. 🤷♂
This is exactly the way to go. It looks and sounds better on TV. Then when people see it, they go "that looks like fun! I wanna go to an AEW show!" Then with time, maybe more people will wanna show up again
I’ve been saying this for the last 18 months or so, they need to stick to MAXIMUM 5,000 capacity venues for TV, and maybe 10,000 capacity venues for PPV’s - Tony Khan CLAIMS to be a number a guy, a data guy, well… the data shows for Dynamite they average ~3,000 in attendance and they rarely get above 10,000 for PPV’s, so start booking venues that fit that trend, and when demand starts to increase, go up a little.
I felt this way for the longest. The blacked out arenas to hide the fact empty seats has always been a viewing distraction for me of the shows. His ego won’t allow him to scale down the arenas. Shit is sad. I like AEW, but they really need a hard reboot of the product and scale down the tv show arenas until the product improves.
I love this. Say what you want about Jim Cornette but he has been mostly correct about AEW. Yes AEW needs to run smaller just like Cornette said...18 months ago!
We've been telling AEW to do smaller building, to market more, to go to different locations, maybe show up in the west to any real degree part of the year. But AEW doesn't care, they are doing their way and not listening. Not because they have a good reason, but because in their minds as long as the TV money flows easy, there is no reason to change. That was Vince's mentality in WWE, and now its TK's in AEW
@@natebaxter9551 It really sucks for us West people. Like they are almost never here and like California is giant and the Pacific NW is huge on wrestling and has a bunch of hometown talent in AEW, but for some reason they refuse to come to the West
@@blablablaa14they run Washington regularly from what I've seen (admittedly not a regular watcher). But I'm not sure why they don't run Cali. That should have been one of their most frequently run territories once the Pandemic ended.
To be fair we don’t know if AEW has a special deal with a company like Spectra that owns and manages specific arenas around the country. Considering TK also works in sports I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case which is why they specific run these arenas that are way too big for their shows.
They need to stop charging prices that suggest they are getting what the scalpers would be getting away with while in reality only 5 people are actually buying tickets. It’s like they are on brain delay. It could have worked in the first years and now they have been doing it for a year plus and most attendances have plummeted with the prices alongside some terrible storyline decisions (like turning mjf heel again).
TNA is doing it right with small venues. They look full and the crowds are wild.
Yes, they should. They can barely fill a 2,000 seat venue
Finally saying the quiet part out loud I see.

Now i just watch aew for the comedy that they do on accident lol
If it's a waste of money, then run the smaller venues so that things seem bigger. It makes a better visual on TV

So be like NXT basically
arguably AEW was at its most consistent creatively during the Daily's Place era
@ABombIsCool they go there every once in awhile now right?
They still are growing the brand. They need to come to the towns and hope people go to a show and get into it.
"Nobody Cares"...The AEW motto.

Both wwf and ecw had wild crowds in those small venue halls. Be worth it.
Obviously they should. At least then they could show different camera angles.
Putting Mina and Harley together is probably the only booking decision Tony has gotten right 😂😂

straight from the Vince Russo's book

Gotta love that the title of the video is a question that could have been answered with an emphatic yes for at least a year now.
it's genuinely hilarious that they're now saying what others have been saying for years

Takeshita is the only reason to watch AEW. If Rey Fenix returns, then he would be 2nd reason for me.
maybe Matt and Nick can get them a deal at some of the cow pastures they worked during their PWG glory days

Its telling that they don't run on the west coast more. That's literally where their base started.

They're running all these massive arenas and can barely sell 2000 tickets to their main show Dynamite. Zero chance they're making a profit.
Granny needs an underturker shirt
Dave: well his name is Frank and he’s an attorney
Frank the beast mortos attorney at law folks
He's a conflicted beast.
Bryan clearly doesn't review cage match
Thank god
The granny just carried this segment
Be renting out garden sheds at this point
They honestly should book shows in high school gyms. AEW is dead.
Yes, they should.
100% woud buy that dave meltzer shirt
This is getting absurd

Bloke Whiteman is my favorite addition to NXT.
The only time AEW talent recieved a pop-"This is Bridgeport"..lol...What a lame product.
The problem is they ran a 4,800 seat building where I am and it was half full.
Still better than 2000 people in a 12 000 15000 20000 set building

I’ve never wya he’s this show, WHO is this old lady??? I love her 😂
I love laughing at AEW.
Here's a thought book interesting storylines and get some talent over. Then u know fans might actually be interested in going to ur shows.
Apparently Alvarez is one of Jim Cornettes fav people on 🌍 right now! 😂
Bring Filthy Tom back to the Smackdown reviews. No offense to Vinny but Tom is more entertaining with the Smackdown rundowns.
It's ego booking at this point
Because Bridgeport is a trash city. Stamford’s not better in parts but there is a ritzy part of Stamford.
bring aew to the impact zone !!!
Do you really have to ask the question? 😂
AEW should fill up high school gymnasiums like Kamala 😂
Im sure he did work some high school gyms later in his career
You could house these shows in someone's barn 😞😞😞😞
