I'm sorry to laugh at your frustration, rewound and watched the " stripped out and the wrong size" portion several times. Hilarious, prefect example of why I've always tried to do my own work- and have passed that on to my kids. Headed to Indy next weekend for the race, love your videos.
Thanks for the vid. I like when you mention a mistake when you make one. Everything going perfectly in the real wold is not honest reality . Had my 2014 Q5 in to AUDI today on two recall notices and they called me to get the o.k. to change my front wipers for$250.00. NOT !
HEY BUD NEED HELP BAD! WHAT ALL DID YOU LOOSEN TO GET THE PAN OFF? ALL THE SUB FRAME BOLTS? TRANS AND MOTOR MOUNTS? Didn't see that information before you started. Thanks.
Wow .. I had a GF that had her Jetta MkV pan stripped out dude must have used a 1/2” breaker bar and crossed threaded it.. yep it was a quickie lube place.. I noticed it after seeing a puddle in the driveway next day.. I totally relate dude .. but I like how you engineered that thread job on the pan 👍🏻
I got a 2009 A3 8p with a ticking 2.0 tfsi! Sounds like it's coming from the top of the motor.. it also makes a "clocking" sound on cold start! I just got it started today after replacing the rear main oil seal! Any advise?
Is it the same thing with the 2.0 Tdi and how can you test if the oil pump is working on a a4 b8 2.0 tdi . I really need an advice if you respond to me thank you very much man🙏
Love your vids man. You’ve helped me a ton! Maybe a dumb question, but what is a “short wobble” extension? I’ve tried searching online to no avail. And did you hoist the engine to this? I’m trying to drop the pan without having to do that. I’ve got all but 1 if the pan bolts out.
Man do you handle yourself good when shit like that drain plug happens....Cause wow would have I exploded and probably would have regretted it, but it would have felt amazing 😂😂. Good on you bro
Am I'm correct in assuming there's no way to get the oil pan off without lifting the engine?? I'm a diyer and my pan is leaking from what seems to be around the gasket.
My audi it is not starting and it’s flashing the hazards lights,I changed the oil pump but still it is not starting,AUDI A4 B7 2006 BRE engine, what could be a problem?
I felt that frustration about the jiffy lube plug, authentic, naptown tuner has heart. that's why i look for a naptown tuner vid first when looking for help with my TSI.

I have a b8 a4 2.0 and my low oil pressure light keeps coming on I had a leak from my lower timing cover that I recently fixed but my low oil pressure light still comes on. Could it be the pump?
WILL YOU DO A VIDEO ON ALL THE COOL CASES OF TOOLS U GOT STACKED UP BEHIND U IN UR SHOP IN SOME PREVIOUS VIDEOS? I DEFINITELY WANT TO HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS- NAPTOWNS TUNERS PREFERENCE- &THE WHO WHATS WHERE AND HOW ABOUT THE PRODUCTS... THANKS J!
Yes I second this comment nap put a video together for the most used Audi/VW tools and what you use.. you are the best out there.. only trust your choices
So far my tool videos haven’t done very well. When I do a repair I’ll take about them as I use them.. Thanks for the interest and I will keep it in mind.
Someone messed up my drain plug threads in the pan before I bought the car, id never go to an oil change place. It always leaked oil with a new plug so I had to use pipethread tape. Works good. I might buy an oil sucker thingy to change my oil that way.
I use an oil extractor on mine and it works great. I was doubtful about it getting all the oil out. But when you put the extractor tube down the dipstick tube until it stops it evidently goes to the lowest point in the pan. Takes 5L to fill it back up every time. I recommend checking the magnetic drain plug for metal at least once a year.
I know this is old but you could also try a stahlbus. Whoever worked on it before I bought it actually broke a chunk of thread. Not stripped but literally chipped off a piece. Some pipe dope and one of those paper type washers and I just hook a hose to it.
A new pump costs over $300 and it’s probably like 3hrs labor I don’t know off the top of my head, someone with all data or still working at a shop might know. I would quote 3hrs just for the pump r&r without diag
Hi bro I wish you're OK. I have an audi Q5 2010 2.0 TDI with 177Hp recently I experienced auxiliary water pump expload. I bought a new one and I replaced it then when I Run with the Car for few minutes I saw smoke goes out from the engine i checked it saw the new Aux water pump also exploded and coolant leaks out. I took the car to someone he checked the coolant circuit and it was OK. Pleas I would to know where could be the Problem.
I never got to work on that engine very often, not many out there and most were reliable. I would try to figure out if it’s a known parts failure because that does not sound the least bit normal

I get a low oil pressure warning on my Audi A4 b8 2012. It comes on after about half an hour of driving. And it only comes on at idling speed. When I Car is driving it goes away. But the more I drive, the more sensitive it becomes. Could oil pump be the case? It has a new camshaft bridge. I may need to replace the whole PCV valve, not just the center part. Anyone else has this same issue? Thanks
@@Therey1898 nooo, still dealing with it, took it to a few mechanics and they haven’t figured it out. And Audi dealer is charging me at least $6500 or more depending on what they find. I am tired! Thats not Audi Q5. or at least the Q5 2010 I am working on first before sump can come out you must remove the anti roll bar. Then the steering rack. Oh but first remove the STEEL unforgiving hydraulic lines from the steering rack which likely means moving something else so you can remove those lines. Then the torsion bar which is an insane job. I got all 23 bolts out my customers sump and even with meter long pry bar, the sump wont fall more than 8mm on front or twist to sides more than 5mm each way. Suggesting something inside has wedged itself against the inner side of the sump. Your easy sump removal, is for sure not what this Audi of mine is like.
No just an old vintage hat, I got one when I was 19 in Costa Mesa, California good will, lost it on my motorcycle shortly after that.. then found another one recently on eBay for nostalgia‘s sake
some guys take the car apart, and my guy naptown just changes the part. Very informative and done like a pro as per usual.
Awesome to show this in the car. I just did this laying on my back and it was a pain. You make it look much easier!

If you continuously siphon don't you risk leaving all the particles in the pan being left inside the pan each time??
