I was just watching clips earlier tonight of Dave playing with Metallica at one of the anniversary gigs they did together, and he did the same thing then too. For as bad of a rep as he gets, Dave at least knows how to graciously share a stage. Pretty cool iny opinion.

So, this man and his band opened a show for Metallica, opened for Slayer, Iron Maiden, had tours with Amon Amarth, In Flames, Killswitch Engage, Machine Head, Gojira, Lamb Of God etc. and now he played a song with goddamn Megadeth (plus they did tours with them). Hall of fame career, love Trivium to death. Fucking legend!

Matt Heafy, an already established musician, someone who has surely played already on hundreds of different gigs, a huge frontman... You can see that even then, the anxiousness kicks in the moment he steps in to sing along Megadeth. Now the challgente it's not only the crowd in front on him, but the legendary band besides him. And even then, he still manages to nail it. Mad respects.

Can't even begin to imagine how this feels for Matt, when this is huge for the fans as well. I'm 28 now, started listening to metal 15 years ago with Metallica and Megadeth, learned a ton of their songs on guitar in the next few years. Trivium for me was the first band i discovered by myself, and watched them grow over the years, not just musically but watching interviews etc. as well, getting a feel of the band members as persons. Dave was also my original guitar influence, seeing him play gave me the itch to pick up a guitar, nowadays i play on his Dean VMNT Angel of Deth, my dream guitar since i was a kid. Seeing him welcome Matt, absolutely another one of my metal heroes to play with them feels amazing man. Congrats on the opportunity, Matt, and i probably don't need to point out that you absolutely crushed the song, amazing performance.
