    You’re a good, kind, gentle human being, so you DO contribute to society just by being alive. Every time you are polite or kind, or you smile at someone, you make life a little bit better for everyone else. We need you in this world. We need as many good, kind people as we can get. It’s the cruel, rude, nasty, greedy, spiteful people who are a drain on society. They make the world a slightly worse place - you make it a slightly better place. Also, your videos help people. They help me. I feel less alone when I watch them. 😊x I’m glad you exist Gerald. I’m sure everyone who watches you is glad you exist. Just keep being you. That’s enough.

    exactly Gerald, you are talking about a level of consciousness and spiritual calling that the mainstream don't understand. Talking with us, that need no explanation, is helping you discover yourself. God has isolated you to preserve you for a reason. What you have is priceless, and you don't even see it, yet. You should trust yourself, and not others that can't see the things that you see. **hugs from New Zealand** - seriously, research the chosen ones and hsp's.

  • @Kahikatea22
    @Kahikatea22 2 месяца назад +14

    You're not mentally ill Gerald, you're traumatized. Multiple events and systemic and familial failure leads to cptsd, which is a set of protective instincts our nervous system runs to protect us. The anxiety and depression comes from being victimized for responding to trauma instead of loved and supported to overcome the bodily process that is stronger than our mind. We are made to feel inferior by a society that is ignorant.if we don't conform to it's secular rules. Cptsd is an injury to the nervous system, not an illness. Pills and talk therapy from people who don't even acknowledge the effects of trauma on the nervous system is so unfortunate and harmful. I'm in recovery, I have been for 20 years, since I woke up, where you are at, when I was 33. I've had 20 years of introspection. Be very careful whose opinion you listen to. The most important thing is to give yourself the compassion you need to heal. Evidence is in the fact you hadn't heard of CPTSD till I brought it to your attention, and others here could identify it too. We're not broken, we're just different. I could write a book... oh yeah, I am. Good work Gerald.

She died in my arms and it ripped my world apart as we were together from age 15. I havent work since and my physical and mental health has suffered. I am the shadow of the man I was. @@steverads8816 That sounds horrific, it will take a lot of grieving and processing to get through that ordeal, I'm sorry you had to go through, are going through, that. Once I found out about PTSD that led me to CPTSD - I went through years of systemic directed guidance of talk therapy, all sorts of therapists, anti-depressants (several kinds), hypnotherapy, equine therapy, reiki, you name it, I tried it. I eventually realized (through educating myself on youtube and the internet) that I wasn't getting better because I wasn't being treated for my injury, I was being treated like I was mentally ill and something was wrong with me mentally - it's normal to grieve, but not in modern society that lacks understanding, that's when they label us as 'unwell'. I've come leaps and bounds since I became my own expert. Be kind, gentle, and loving to yourself. and understand that you have much to grieve and grieving is a normal, long hard process that takes as long as it does to heal. There's so much great stuff to help educate people on here, youtube. Also, look into Polyvagal theory, it's a game changer. **hugs 4 u & your healing journey**

      @Kahikatea22 2 месяца назад +3

      @@steverads8816 I did write you a long reply but it's vanished. I understand completely what you are saying. CPTSD is marked by a shattered reality, which yours has been. You will never be the same person as you were. Accepting that instead of trying to 'fix' yourself is integral to overcoming trauma. You have to grieve. The grief cycle is also a helpful understanding. Polyvagal theory is life changing in its understanding. The physical aspects of trauma and grief are real. Good luck on your journey of recovery. Hi Gerald, hello from Penang, Malaysia. I am "like" #99 on this video. I first started watching your videos because of your incredibly well behaved German shepherd dogs, but now I am absorbed by your life story, because you are such a curiosity to me. I do not disbelieve anything you say, but I also can't help feeling sorry for you. Although you mentioned that you have gone through your entire life without a job, you are referring to a permanent job, of course, not the numerous low-paying odd jobs which you have taken. I am sorry that your entire life sounds like a long, continuous struggle with multiple health and mental issues. You did not address in this video, how you are staying in this house which you are planning to sell. Is this your parents' house? And for a person with so many problems, you managed to get married and father children. Do tell us, living such a sheltered life with your parents, how did you get a wife? Consider that an accomplishment, Gerald. Also, you managed to go to China and live there, all on your own. That too is another accomplishment. At times when you are down and feeling miserable, think of your accomplishments.
    Sorry that that marriage has soured, and you will possibly be looking at a divorce in the near future. I cannot understand why you should buy a house for your future ex-wife and put it in her name. And if you refuse to do that, then what?
    It is good that you have this RUclips channel, which hopefully can earn you some side income, but I would caution you not to put all your eggs in one basket. Often RUclips channels get demonetised and shut down for no apparent reason. If you are able to, consider starting a second RUclips channel that offers some sort of value. For example, a channel on raising German shepherd dogs. In case something should happen to one channel, you still have another one as back up.
    If you are broke, do not entertain the idea of moving to Thailand or the Philippines. Unless you are a cash cow that can be milked, you will have a horrible time there. Too many naive Westerners found that out the hard way. (Just look in RUclips for their stories).
    I will continue to watch your videos because even a talking head in the car can be so absorbing. But I want to wish you the best of luck, and may your situation improve, as bleak as it appears now.

I don't sense any fabrication to your story - nothing inconsistent etc. I think that from your use of language, and thought process, that you are fairly intelligent and that you can carry yourself with dignity. So *some* who look from the outside might think that there is no reason for you to have future financial worries. Anyone outside has not been in your shoes. Also, in my opinion, the way capitalism is structured, its a 'winner take all situation', many do not 'measure up', and the system unfairly makes many into 'losers'. Yet many people are fairly capable, and would do a fine job, if they are given just a little humane support.

    When you have certain mental health issues you may want to work, you may choose to work, but you may be incapable of working. You can have problems breathing, you can be unable to do the job in an adequate manner because of your symptoms (e.g. waiter with trembling hands), you may have disproportionate emotional reactions to real or imaginary threats (e.g. excess fear response), and you may react out of proportion (and character) to stessors that overwhelm you (but not others) - e.g. a demanding client, boss, or colleague. Many people don't get this. I do. Have faith in God and in yourself! You will overcome your problems!

  • @richardm654

    The mental/emotional issues you describe fall under Complex Post Tramatic Stress Disorder. It stems from not having emotional needs met in a healthy way as a child continuously. You have traumas added on top of that. Almost all psychological conditions stem from this. Just dealing with the current symptoms don't ever fix the underlying issues. Drugs don't help either. If you want some insight you can lookup Daniel Mackler, Tim Fletcher, and Pete Walker for some insight. Brother, I understand exactly the way you feel. I wish you the best.

You live above your means scrimping and saving yet you live in a massive has in the country it dosent make sense mate. Also not working and stimulating your brain causes depression and bad mental health. A man is a provider he goes and kills the mamouth or goes to work which stimulates his brain and makes him feel good as a provider for his family its natural. I cannot stand it when people say i cant coz im depressed or mental health ect. You need to work to help stimulate your brain like going to the gym/exercise,anyway rant over i hope you take this as helpful and im not a troll im just a man who suffers but works 6/7 days a week because if i dont my brain goes daft thinking because i have too much time on my hands.

      I never worked for a boss cause of clinical depression and anxiety which has been medically confirmed, if a person has no limbs then that is acceptable but depression/anxiety and nobody cared or thinks ahh that person can work no problem, that's the mistake ppl make, clinical depression is an actual illness that needs medication which I've taken for 30yrs, I know what you mean and can understand what you are saying but you don't understand that those with real mental-illness cannot just shrug it off, you say you cant stand ppl who say they have mental health issues they can't do something, I understand you very well, teething about filling your time with stuff I understand too, some ppl who have mental health issues cant FILL their days they will mentally and emotionally burn out, its like you working 24hrs in a day and not sleeping, cause our brains work differently, your brain is normal, mine is anxious and perceives MORE, it sees and feels MORE, and its exhausting, believe me you gets stressed-out,headaches and life gets too much living what you would call a normal life cause our brains work on different levels, if you don't believe me you can look into this.

      Brain Differences in Depression and Anxiety vs. Typical Functioning
      Stress Response:
      Anxiety: Increased activity in the amygdala and stress response systems leads to heightened vigilance and a constant "fight or flight" state. This results in higher energy expenditure and quicker fatigue.
      Normal: Balanced activation of stress responses with efficient energy management.
      Emotional Regulation:
      Depression: Reduced activity in the limbic system results in difficulties in mood regulation and increased mental effort to manage persistent negative thoughts.
      Normal: Stable mood regulation with less cognitive and emotional effort.
      Perception and Fatigue:
      Anxiety and Depression: Both conditions cause increased sensitivity to stress and emotional exhaustion, making everyday tasks feel more draining.
      Normal: Less emotional strain and more efficient energy use in managing daily activities.
      In essence, individuals with depression and anxiety experience greater mental strain and quicker exhaustion due to abnormal brain activity and heightened stress responses.

If you are long term unemployed with mental health issues you will be in receipt of Esa, IS, PIP, Housing benefit. Your wife will have child benefit and also be on your joint claim. If you're not then go to the Citizens advice and get a benefit calculation. Also 6 dogs?!!! They will all have to have vet cover. 🤔

      Even if u left it all to your wife to go to the govt dept, wouldn't you need to prove first u could support her to bring her back and stay in uk? either tax returns attached to visa application or being on disability pension.. or some other man of means

Just baby steps. Now is the time to not do nothing. Now is the time for change and growth. You can't stay in that same relationship being stagnant. As another commenter mentioned you can definitely get pension credits if you have not paid enough "stamps". I dont think its far off the state pension either. If you have a record of mental health issues you may get invalidity benefit. Also i dont think you get so much hastle to find work from the dole as you get older either. Yes, voluntary work is a great way to get out, I used to do conservation volunteering and some people would just do an hour and leave, but that was fine. On the paid side doing a bit of freelance gardening is a good one. You can drive and have a car, very useful, what about Uber? In the countryside there are loads of people who cant get about because there is no public transport. I think the abuse you suffered at school was a catastrophe, society totally ignores abuse in school as its so huge but its the single biggest destroyer of peoples lives.

    Most people don't understand that the trauma with childhood abuse gets worse with age, not better.
    When we're younger we push aside trauma to focus on breeding, hooking-up, family, career, buying homes and cars, etc ... But when we get older and realize all that was worthless and a failure, and we stop pursuing all the ego stuff, the trauma comes to the surface and it can be debilitating.
    This is where I'm in life and I'm your age. I too could never keep a job and did spurts of employment to get by. I was recently diagnosed with autism, Asperger's, and trauma.
