I know exactly the feeling Matt's talking about when slipping into sleep paralysis. It's like vibrations throughout your entire body coupled with a coherent confusion because you have the ability to think and process thoughts but it's gradually getting worse until suddenly the vibrations stop and you just kinda like pop into what I can best describe as basically a David Lynch movie.
It’s the best! Terrifying at the moment it’s happening, but soooo fucking awesome when you realize it’s just sleep paralysis, and you aren’t gonna be possessed by a demonic entity. I usually beat off right after. Affirmation of life!

Mac definitely didn’t make Macadelic in high school, Best Day Ever came out a year after he graduated but he did release KIDS when he graduated. His earlier stuff when he went by Easy Mac is very good too. Smoke Signals by Mac Miller and John Record is probably one of my favorites of his. His battles with substance abuse are heavily referenced in his later work while his earlier pieces are more about smoking weed, getting girls, and chillin with the homies. Circles being the last album he worked on while he was alive is easily his strongest album, it’s the perfect mix of his older style with his then current. He was always evolving and never stopping as an artist, a savant of sound. The world lost a lot than we could probably ever realize.

I was only 4 years old! Man I remember sledding down the hills on feed scoops with a feed bag folded up on the scoop to keep our butts from completely freezing off! Life on the farm during the winter was something special.
The supplement game is a joke, spend your money on real food, get decent sleep and learn to handle stress. It'll do more for your body than any mountain of pills, processed drinks and miscellaneous supershit.

This is the best podcast I've listened to all year
The first time I ever had a strong desire to turn from Christ was in college. I was seriously depressed for no good reason. While visiting my parents, I prayed in church specifically for a sign. I gave God my ultimatum. Prove to me there’s something real or I’m turning away. That day I took a nap and when I awoke I had sleep paralysis. No big deal considering I’ve had it before. However as soon as I opened my eyes I saw it. Piercing black. Shadow figure standing against the wall at the foot of my bed. 2 feet from my dresser. It spanned a couple feet above my doorframe. I immediately crunched my eyes close from shear panic. I could still hear my parents chatting away and listening to the TV in the other room. I couldn’t scream. I peeled my eyes barely just to see if it was still there. It hadnt moved. I dart my eyes as far as I can to my right because I couldn’t be brave enough to stare it dead on. It doesn’t move. “This is it. This is the reaper. I’m dying” tears are rolling down my face. I steal looks at it briefly. Still there. I begin praying in my head. As soon as I finish my prayer the thing rushes towards my bed then hard right and swooshes right past my head through the wall. Paralysis slowly wears away and I sit up in bed trying to reason with myself that it couldn’t be real. I look over the bed and see the place it was standing. Directly next to my dresser was a stack of books. It was standing in the only clean floor space of my cluttered room. The thing had spatial awareness. I never doubted the spiritual world ever again. I used to wish it upon all my friends who don’t believe. There’s something out there. I did tons of research after and was horrified that TONS of people see the exact same thing. Delve deep into research and it’s one of the neatest things that never get enough discussion.

Matt, I have had very similar sleep paralysis experiences. The shadow figures, the feeling of losing your breath, the going in and out of sleep paralysis, and the ability to come out of it if you put all your mind into it. The only thing you didn't mention that I do have is the feeling of raising my arms from my sides toward the ceiling, I don't know if you have ever gotten that.

Whatever Matt is describing... is not sleep paralysis. SODTAOE 🤟
Purposely using sleep paralysis to go into lucid dream is a legitimate technique. It's an easy way to get into lucid dreaming.
Kinda like matt said (when I was an early lucid dreamer) I would set an alarm for 3AM and stay up for ten minutes then go to back to bed.
Since the body is so tired, and you've likely just left REM sleep. If you stay on your back your body does start falling asleep before your mind (since you had those 10 minutes of staying awake) the hard part about "breaking threw" kinda like matt said, is REMEMBERING your dreaming. Getting stuck in that endless cycle of thinking your awake then waking up, and getting hit with a new wave of paralysis is very commom for new dreamers. The "going into" matt describes is allowing your body to enter paralysis without attempting to jerk or wake up. Because then you can put your body into REM sleep paralysis with still a waking conscious mind. Which is where lucid dreaming starts. Getting over the fear is quite a difficult task though. Took me almost 2 years
