- Today i will be explains how the semi 5.7 engine can in fact beat the 392 6.4 engine.
Everyone wants to know how this is possible.
Well its actually pretty simple if you can follow these steps..
Please guys make sure to get some good gripping tires at least 295-305 when your starting to mold your car. ( I run mickey Thompson streets )
Also peddle box will really help your acceleration.
Last but not least FBO ( Cam Included for best performance )

What if I have a AWD people said I can’t or don’t need too change the gears
If going in straight line only which is what most people street race, then an open diff works just as well as an lsd. It will apply the power just as evenly.

A lot of people don’t know they can do a 3.09 LSD swap in 5.7 trims, it’s one of the first things you should do to your R/T IMO

I keep telling ppl if ur looking to invest in racingthe R/T is the better way to go.. you'll reel in more money on the sleeper side of the car community. Some ppl are scared of 392's & hellcats.. no one expects for a R/T to be all that fast
Why would you spend all that money to make a car do what it isn’t supposed to and void warranty. Might as well just get the scat for peace of mind.

@@justshady scats are useless for the most part, they’re pretty much maxed out from factory… most car enthusiast don’t care about warranty, including myself, plus overall long term maintenance the rt is cheaper

I was going to ask how much for that engine then realized this video is 3 years old🫠
I would go full bolt on + differential 3.09 before I would cam since you can do all that without tune or void warranty. Then once I was here I would do cam and forged internals. Then I would tune. and eventually I would boost since I already had forged internals.
Minus well just get a hellcat because hellcats come with forged pistons already all that money u putting in just get a hellcat instead
You might as well trade it in for the Hellcat before you go to far it becomes too much money for the same exact thing
False …..say you own a :5.7 it would take like 5k to make 600+ hp
@@ramontapia9108 I just bought a RT Challenger for $7K (which was a steal) but I could take $10k and build my 5.7 to be right in the vicinity of a hellcat. I’d much rather spend under $20k for something damn near as fast than $60k for the name hellcat. Huge price difference.

That’s if you switch out the 392 manifold in the 5.7
@@Chosen.24no port the 5.7 intake the 392 intake benefits but it’s already pretty good. The factory 5.7 manifolds are/were made for mass as the 392 were made for performance.

I’d personally get a scat pack, it’s comes with all the suspension and handling upgrades, big engine and they aren’t THAT expensive

Both cams get the total kit as it has MDS delete and lifters, phase limiter or lockout etc.
cost about $2k in parts 2024 install depends where you go and get a real dyno tune from a Mopar fluent tuner can’t stress the last part enough. If tuner is a ways away get their remote tuner so you can data log. Make sure you get a remote tuner they can use, most Mopar tuners use HP tuners

A used scat that’s previously been dogged out vs a fresh RT that you can mod for under 5k and have equal hp if you do your research lmao not including any kind of turbo either. Nah. Don’t get me wrong, I love any V8 hemi, but tuning an RT allows you to tune your sound, look, and drive for the same price of a stock scat logically.
Im debating on hellcat swapping a chrysler 300 or Modding a 5.7 Charger, toughest decision ever.

Do not get a peddle box nor peddle commander. I repeat DO NOT GET A PEDDLE BOX. Spend the extra 250 and A DIABLO TRINITY TURNER 2 . Its a turner, peddle box, and gov changer in 1. Intake manifold, exhaust, header, wheels , breaks, diablo trinity, stock internals 392 beside me
When doing cam make certain you want to boost or stay NA. Myself I’m staying NA because boosting has a lot of hidden costs, fuel pump, injectors (especially if going E85) then depending on target with boost then the entire drivetrain needs attention transmission, driveshaft, LSD, differential brace (good for all cars if you race a lot) 180Tstat (must for boosted engines)

If you get a tune u dont need a pedalbox because a tune helps with throttle response way more.

To be honest if you’re just building it to be as fast as a 6.4 that’s not a big goal. It’s also more of a “I couldn’t afford the Scat” so I’ll do this then.

Just reset your throttle response by turning key on and push gas pedal to ground quickly for like 30 seconds and let up slow. This will also reset your throttle response to as new and is a nice free nugget

Not to knock anyone.. this video is moreso to get a 5.7 to keep up with a STOCK!!!!... keyword STOCK!!!!! 392... best way is nitrous and FBO or some kind of force induction. a 392 on tires with just LTH and a tune and thats the end of the 5.7’s.

Do I need to upgrade anything after an aftermarket cam such as pistons, rods, etc. ???
Pistons have always been faulty in the 5.7 but they can typically handle up to 500hp, same goes for the pushrods. Don’t HAVE to but to be safe you’d probably want to.
