    Did you have any issues with the wood breaking off the earring backing?

    • @VicTacToe
      @VicTacToe  Год назад

      Thank you! :) When I first started making earrings I had that issue, and I tried lots of different types of glue. The best one I found is “Roo Glue” rooglue.com/product/roowood/. Also, the earring posts with the biggest pads definitely hold up the best. I try to use 8mm posts when ever I can, and I always tell customers to never get their earrings wet.

    Do you seal the earrings on the card you sell them on? I would think there would be a shadow there they were, when the earring are purchased and removed from the card.

    • @VicTacToe

      Hi! I use the same earring card to spray all of them because it does mess up the earring card. And then I put them on a clean card to sell :)

      Hi! I use a very fine tip paint brush and the paint I use is Craft Smart acrylic paint, which dries quickly so it’s easy to work with :) Also, the scored lines make it easier to paint within the lines since they are are indented on the wood.

    Do you still use Aleene’s. Or have you found a better sealer? If it’s still Aleene’s how many coats do you use? I find that my earrings still chip after 3-4 coats. I’m just not sure what I’m doing wrong. Thanks in advance!

    • @ivyradcliffe

      @@VicTacToe I use craftsmart acrylic water based paints. I found that my project chipped when I used mod podge matte spray, I didn’t feel confident that it wouldn’t chip looking at my product with Aleene’s. Right now I brush on matte mod podge. Not sure if that’s a good alternative, still always worried about chipping. 😅🤦🏽‍♀️

      Thanks, I appreciate your response! I’m not quite sure what I may be doing wrong. Have you used mod podge in the past? If so what was your experience with it? I’ve used both the spray and the paste. I’m contemplating using the paste and then spray on top.

    • @VicTacToe
      @VicTacToe  3 года назад

      I don't have any experience with mod podge. That sounds like a good plan, I would try it out and see if it holds up! I also used to use Krylon acrylic spray, but I switched to Aleene's because I wanted more of a glossy finish.

    How long does it take for the glowforge to cut the earrings?

    • @VicTacToe
      @VicTacToe  2 года назад +1

      Hi Jennifer! That depends on which model you have, and obviously how many earrings you're cutting, what size they are, etc. I have the Basic model (which is the slowest). So for example, to cut 1 pair of the octopus stud earrings in this video it takes 21 seconds.

    • @VicTacToe

      I just gave 3 a try and it did actually work fine, so I guess 7 is a bit of over kill 😂 I had such a bad experience saving the decimals at 1 I wanted to make sure I didn’t mess up my designs again haha
