I really Love Glowforge Lasers. The quality of the machines are great and setup is easy and quick. I only wish they didn't charge so much for their monthly subscription for full use of the software after the trial period is over. Also wish there was an option to work offline. Other than that, I think Glowforge lasers are the best lasers for home crafters and small businesses.
Great video as always, Angie. The only thing that's stopping me from buying one is I've read in some of the groups how the Aura which just launched late last year that the filter already needs replacing.
Hi thank you for the video. I’m am new to laser printing. Is there away to print connected letter earrings. When I try to do it, it just shows engraving.
The area with the QR code...is that area unusable in terms of cutting? I'm curious if you lose a percentage of product because otherwise you'd be cutting into the QR code.
Angie, does this machine have to be ventilated to outdoors? I'm thinking it would be great for a craft market but need to know more about how to ventilate it. Also, what else can be made on it besides earrings?
Lasers = burning. So yes, ideally all lasers need to be ventilated outdoors. There are some fan driven filter solutions but they end up being quite expensive and don't fully remove the smell.
No. However you will need to make sure whatever material you use is laser safe and you stay with your laser while its operating. You also have to make sure you get the right thickness for it the cut through.
I did discuss this in the video. You can use other materials not made by Glowforge but you will have to make sure they are laser safe and play with the material settings.

That is so dependent on what you are cutting and how often you are using it.

You should be able to combine the paths and change to cut.

You can cut that area!
@@AngieHolden Thanks so much! I'm getting ready to buy my first laser and it's the little details that are driving me bonkers, heh.

Yes you always need to vent. Either to the outdoors or with an air filter that you purchase separately.
Hi! What did you use to mask the earrings?
This is Glowforge material so it comes with a masking on it.
Angie, do you have a link for the earring holder?
Gosh I don't. It was in the glowforge library though!
@@AngieHolden I'll have to search for it. :)
Hello Angie, can I use an iPad or do I have to have a computer to use the glowforge spark or any of the glowforge???
I would recommend a computer. I don't think they have a mobile app.
Can it cut light metal
No this machine does not cut metal.
Does this machine only use material made by glowforge
Angie answered that in the video.
@@CLTGeek No she didn't she said she used that name product today I was asking if materials that glowforge doesn't make work
