My late dad was second generation Chinese from Hawaii. In the late 1930's - early 1940's, his father was one of the original food truck vendors serving lunch plates to farm workers in Hawaii. His specialty was Chinese style BBQ pork. When I introduced my dad to the Kau Kau, he said it reminded him of his dad's BBQ pork. It became his must eat place in Seattle. When I would pick him up or take him to the airport, he'd tell me to drive to the Kau Kau so he could eat some BBQ pork.
Wow what an incredible story! We read this comment together and it brought us such joy! Thank you so much for this. How long do you think that place has been around? It was delicious and so memorable. We wish we could’ve tasted your families recipe as well. Have an amazing day!
This is godlike no boring spaceneedle or gum wall or Starbucks just walk by all that stuff and show just the necessary food stops
In years past we did that stuff for sure. We did some new stuff but we always end up at the Pike Place was worth the visit. They threw a fish right over our head but we forgot to hit the record button! So fun
Kkk❤
Always enjoy seeing your videos. We live about 2 hours from Seattle…those spots look great!!!! Have fun!
Thanks a million! If we had to pick somewhere outside of San Diego we would want to live in the PNW! Thanks for supporting our channel, maybe it’s time for another Seattle food tour!
🤤 I can watch you guys eat all day. Seattle done right!!
Thanks so much Sandy! Please share with your Seattle peeps👏
Great video guys, thanks for taking me with you.
You are most welcome! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. It means the world to us. We need to update this video and get back to Seattle soon. It was delicious!
Your videos are fabulous! I hope you continue to be content creators focusing on food! And chili crisp - I put it on everything too :-)
Thank you so much for the kind words! Our Europe series starts soon and we eat EVERYTHING! We just ran out of chili crisp and life has just not been the same🤣
This is great! My folks are coming to Seattle for our wedding and I needed some help finding places to take them!
Amazing! Congratulations that’s amazing! Monterrey is so beautiful and a perfect place to say I do! Glad we could help out, if you ever head to Seattle we have a good tour there too!

Thanks for watching and commenting!
The Malaysian spot looked so good!! Wish I could try it 🤤
It’s bonkers!
When at Pike Place Market gotta also try Ivar's fish bar for their clam chowder. Also when in Seattle you should try Northlake Tavern for pizza and The Cave man for BBQ food.
Love this! Thank you so much for the recommendations. Added to the list, we fell in love with Seattle and will be back again soon!
Dog in the Park @ Westlake is my go-to since I work a block away and my works food doesn't cut it.
Amazing thank you so much for this recommendation will be sure to hit it up in Seattle. We have a couple friends who live there now so we will definitely be back.
I've lived in Seattle (suburbs) for 20 years - and I haven't gone to any of these places - except Pike Place of course. Great video - thanks!!!
That’s awesome! We fell in love with that city! Seriously can’t wait to go back, the whole PNW was incredible.
So glad you enjoyed it! We are on a pretty shoestring budget so finding cheap, delicious eats is our favorite hobby!
Watching the video at the sugar corn dog and not even out of the international district and they ate a full days meal in my eyes and then they got duck and rice platter, holy hell keep going! Loving the reviews all winners they picked all winners ?! but how much can they eat I’m beyond impressed 😅😮🙌
Ok that was day 1 I’m thinking that’s just in the mid day 😅
Hahah sometimes we can do our food tours in one day but I think we spent 5 days in Seattle🤣. We would be dead haha
Should of went that daily donut shop its amazing
Holy cow we just looked it up on Google. It looks incredible! We freaking love Seattle and can’t wait to go back. Will be sure to add this one if we do another food video when we visit. Thanks so much for the recommendation.
I hate this channel I just discovered, cause I’ll be salivating the whole time watching this! Everything looked so good 🤤
Thank you so much! That’s Seattle video was so much fun to make. We found some amazing cheap beats and delicious food for sure! We will be sure to keep the tasty adventures coming.
❤❤ my town 🎉 thanks 🙏🙏
You’re so welcome! Seattle is a beautiful and delicious city, we can’t wait to return! Thanks a million for watching!
The one place you guys missed is Oriental Market, downstairs from Pike Market. Would recommend salmon sisig
Salmon Sisig!!! No F’n wayyyy! Had no idea that was an option! Seattle’s food scene is so rich and diverse. You have our word that when we go back we will get this for sure! Thanks for watching! This weeks food tour is in Guadalajara!
I can wait more than 5 min in like anymore but 2 hrs ?! 😅 you are doing the tough work to bring the information to the people 🙌 saying you would wait 4 hrs that’s wild, I’ll be in Seattle this week and probable will investigate this place now 😅👍
We did read online that they changed owners and moved locations. I read one review online that said it wasn’t quite as good any longer😕 total bummer
The sugar for the Korean corn dogs is to add a little flavoring because the rice flour based batter by itself is a little bland.
That makes so much sense! Our regular corn dogs have the sugar added to the batter! We liked the texture the sugar on the outside gave. Thanks for the tip!
nice foods bruvfff
Thanks so much! We ate some amazing grub In Vancouver too! That video should be out in a week or two
We have *_one day_* in Seattle, (and I had to fight to get it.) We fly in on a Wednesday. We are having dinner at the The 5 Point Cafe and then we need a drinking place in the area to hang out until we can crash at 9 pm for the jet-lag. On the Thursday we are going (Walk? Bus?) to Pike Place market to eat our way through lunch, then we need a drinking place in the area to hang out until we can head to?? Chinatown?? for a sit down dinner. Friday it's The 5 Point again for breakfast and then off to the pier to catch a cruise ship. I'm _really struggling to find the best way to do Thursday. We can't crisscross the city without a car and I need to stop and rest regularly because I'm not particularly mobile. Our priorities are Comfort food, seafood, seafood, seafood, cold beer & oysters, and seafood.
Chinatown is more like fast casual spots but there are a few sit down places, Seattle has really great Vietnamese restaurants that might be good for dinner. Not far from where you’ll be is Belltown that’s our favorite relaxed neighborhood to grab a drink at. But there are also some cool spots on the rooftops of pike place with great views! Have so much fun!
@@HeresGoodTravel Thank you for replying. We are coming from the Greater Toronto area where quality Vietnamese food is fairly common. So we are targeting Seattle-Chinese-seafood, which should be different from what we are used to.
Kedai makan is Malaysian food. Try it if you are in Malaysia😊
Yes we noticed that! We actually have an overnight in Singapore and I know they have some Malaysian offerings. We will seek food like this out for sure and maybe even plan a trip around it!
😋😋😋
Thanks for the love!
My family and I are heading to Seattle in a few months. We’re renting a car. I heard it gets pretty expensive if you are driving around. Is that true? Any tips?
From our experience there are mostly toll roads / bridges on the way in that can add up. If you’re just going into the city once and staying in the area that might be an option to save some money. It is VERY difficult to find free parking as mostly every street is metered. I believe we payed $2 per hour for meter parking, which is more expensive than we are used to. Spot Angel is a good resource to find cheap or free parking. Good luck and have fun! Seattle is so cool, worth the crazy parking costs for sure.
@@HeresGoodTravel cool thank you so much!
Tha'ts the fish market where Shane worked.
🤯
Curious is that chili sauce need to be refrigerated after its opened?
No! The oil acts as it’s own preservative. It hardens in the fridge so we just left it at room temp.
@@HeresGoodTravel hmmm the usda might not agree:) lol buy I get it Asians been doin it for 1000 years soooooo. Any other must that didn’t mk the vid
😂 haha no doubt! I think it’s called a peroshki at the Pike place market that is really good. But everything else I think we recorded. We do have a drinking video that we hit up the Starbucks reserve and find a bunch of great happy hour deals around town. That one is worth checking out. Thanks a million for watching
How close to going over your budget are you here! 😂
Surprisingly we only went over by a little. We filmed the spots over the course of 3 days and met up with some friends who bought a couple rounds of drinks🙌🙌🙌
Nahhhh every meal was top tier ?! they did their research how did you choose these places to eat ?!?! 😮
We watch some RUclips videos, look at yelp, and google and also read articles. We usually search for best cheap eats since we are on a budget. We do spend a ton of time in International districts because food is typically more affordable. And we love happy hour.
Hi what up
Hi there🤙
try less flash
Thanks, we were new and just getting used to everything. Our newer videos have improved quite a bit!
Enjoyed the content. Did not enjoy the talking with food in your mouth.
😂 Thanks so much for watching! We get better in future videos
watch where you park in the city the homeless break in to cars and vans.
Thank you for the heads up. We kind of lucked out while we were there. We did have a folding camping chair that was stolen from underneath our car though🙁
