Drumlines and Lowbrass is more in the background. When the drumline is playing, it's like a wall rolling down the street. It's better for the music if the drumline is not in front of the corps so highbrass plays the melody and the drumline and lowbrass just fits into it

I'm the opposite. The Drum Corps that I have been in has always had us drummers in the back and never up front. Same with marching band.
