    The opening sequence is why you have to be SO carefull buying used. My 2015 S550 has just over 110,000 absolutely trouble free miles. Just got 29.4 MPG at an average speed of 71 MPH, have gotten as much as 32 MPG at an average speed of 65 MPH. Still looks like new. No problems ever.

      @MrPhymed Год назад +3

      @@Luchy1119 I had absolutely zero issues with the engine and the gearbox.
      Look for a well maintained w222 since factory, preferably by the dealer, and make sure the gearbox is timely serviced.
      Don’t buy a car that was used for taxi, the engine running time on these is waaaay higher than the miles driven.

    200,000 km for the diesel V6 is nothing, especially if they are 70/30. Those diesels can last 500-600km easily

    • @MrDelgrigorov
      @MrDelgrigorov Год назад +4

      In Bulgaria they inport them 600k + there are some cases of 900k+ working with no issues. Talking about the V6 diesels of MB.

    How do you find the engine hours?

    • @yosangle
      @yosangle 6 месяцев назад

      I think they used the mileage and average speed to calculate the engine hours
      Example 100 km is the mileage and average speed is 40kph
      It is 2 and half hours
      (This car records average speed) Also a diagnostic laptop will show average speed throughout lifetime

    You better read this: The W222 engine is worst engine ever built by Mercedes Benz MY2013 - MY 2016 the exhaust valve assembly might not work properly etc. The Water thermostat open at 217 Fahrenheit, Water Boil at 212 Fahrenheit toy must remove the coolant to clean the back flow.
    The temperature reading in the car display never goes aver 200 Fahrenheit I check the engine temperature was 217 to 225 Fahrenheit without any fan coming on (Back flow) the manual warning on page 295 if the coolant temperature is above 257 Fahrenheit do not drive. The rigged the software like they did in the Diesel engine.
    The problem is “Fuel system monitor not completed” 15 states do not pass to drive the car and you cannot do anything about.

    The OM-656 400 D is absolutely by far the best engine choice for this car it is both powerful, fuel efficient and reliable the S63 V8 is also a very good engine but the maintenance costs are very high on those, personally i would avoid that engine above 90 000 kilometers milage.

    Hm... After 3 new E class and 4 new S class , I have to say stay away from these cars or you will , yes you will go broke !
    These are the only cars that will break down while parked in the garage . Yes PARKED .
    Only Mercedes is doing it . Wiring harness are disintegrating with age .
    3 yrs old and all of them must be replaced .
    Every 5k there is4 additional trouble codes ,, etc etc.
    Buy it only while under factory warranty ! Remember it will loose. 80% of its value in the first 4 yrs.
    Lexus IS the way to go .
    Never again will I buy a German made garbage , yes German GARBAGE !

      if you really have to have a MB,....Than go with w222 , avoid the M157 engine , It is a leaking garbage DO NOT BUY those
      Rather look for m278 or m276 3,5 motor
      Check engine compartment wiring harness connectors for presence of oil . If yes , you'll have to replace the whole harness .. About $ 5,2k parts and labor .
      On the other hand, W 213 is fairly reliable .....
      Look for the one M276 motor
