    Really been happy with the turtle wax performance. I prefer sheeting, less water on the panel so less water spots after it rains.

    About 7 months ago, I started using the full line of the TW Hybrid Solution products, & I found them terrific, so far. My cars still shine, even my wife's white car. I am a driveway detailer, so costs are very important to me, and the TW Hybrid products are very cost effective, except the 3 in 1 detailer. Once a week, I use ONR for a maintenance wash. I use 3 in 1 detailer about once a month for my wash. Preparation is key, so make sure you use these products in order of use. Thanks for your videos.

      I too am a driveway detailer and find the Hybrid Solutions products to be terrific and cost effective but will disagree with you about the 3 in 1 detailer. That is a 32 oz. pkg - 32 oz! - of which I paid $12.50 That is compared to most everything else in a 16 oz. sprayer. I find the 3 in 1 to be very cost effective and economical with the recommended spray ratio and shine results and longevity.

    Thanks for the great videos WaxMode! I have tried the Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating, Ceramic 3 in 1 Detailer and Ceramic Wet Wax. I polished my car about 2 months ago and put 2 coats of Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray coating on. Waiting 24 hrs before applying the 2nd coat. Then been following with frequent washes, drying with the Wet Wax and sometimes following that with another coat of Wet Wax applied on the dried paint. I love these new Hybrid Solutions products but, especially the Wet Wax. My car has never looked better. I will never be buying a paste wax again. Products like these have changed the game for me.

      Thanks for the great feedback again Robert! I love the Ruby Red color on those mustangs, my neighbor has one and I'm just in awe of it every time he pulls it out. I'll have to do some videos on his car in the future, I've been thinking of trying the Ceramic Polish & Wax on it to really help bring out that red for a one-step product and follow up with the Ceramic Spray Coating.
      Glad to hear your feedback on Wet Wax as well, I think it fits in perfectly with the Hybrid Solutions lineup for maintenance. Works really well as a drying aid, isn't overly heavy, hasn't left me with streaking, looks fantastic!

      WaxMode the Hybrid Solutions don’t bead water as intense as other products but, it does put good protection and they make my car look the best so far. They are easy to use and are inexpensive. I wash my car an average of 2-4 days depending on the weather and always follow with the Wet Wax and sometimes Turtle Wax Wax And Dry. After I use all the Wax And Dry, I will only be using Wet Wax because it looks the best and lasts longer than the Wet Wax. Longevity really doesn’t matter to me because I wash so often and dry with the Wet Wax. So, I am constantly putting a fresh coat on!

    That Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer is awesome stuff. I bought McKee's 37 v2 coating for dirt cheap when autogeek was purging the whole lineup. I applied it to my hood in march just to get a feel for it (I'm a noob when it comes to applying coatings) and the water behavior wasn't quite what I was expecting. I applied Meg's HCD and the water behavior was greatly enhanced. I'd say it is on par with a fresh layer of gyeon cancoat, hydrophobic wise.

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 года назад +2

      That's awesome I love to hear it! I've been absolutely loving HCD, they combined the addicting scent with the crazy hydrophobics in an easy to use formula that is fully coating compatible. Easily one of my new favorites.
      McKee's 37 I did notice that compared to CQUK, it won't maintain as strong of a hydrophobic performance by itself, but after I had begun topping M37 on a regular basis I was seeing sections on the front bumper that maintained extreme hydrophobics for 3+ years. I had recently buffed that section off to test the new Wolfgang Uber Spray Coating and now I'm wishing I had kept it on the paint in that section. I might do a video covering it. Keep me posted on your experience with Hybrid Ceramic Detailer!

      Thanks Phil! Would love to hear what you think of Lite. Could be a good value-based option to offer as a baby coating to clients after a quick one-step correction. You can stretch that 150ml out in the bottle pretty far, shelf life seems to be great. Still requires a significant wipeoff like a standard coating for me but I'll keep a close eye on the durability on this section. My earlier Lite video was performed on a car up in Chicago, I'll have to reach out to the owner for updates when they pull the car out of hibernation.

    Nice to see a real world comparison on these products and a nice explanation on how you used them. I have a black car and I'm tempted with the TW Hybrid Range, including their black polish and black ceramic. Though I'm also tempted with 303 Graphene. Being in the UK TW products are readily available whereas 303 Graphene isn't.
    I should add that the ease of use and curing time, due to me not being able to garage my car is having a big say in what I use. I'd also maintain with a topper regularly.

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 года назад +1

      Cheers Tony! One of my recent videos highlighted the 7 month durability update with both of these hanging in there, although certainly diminished over the months to some extent. I wouldn't be as concerned about cure time with these consumer based protectants as much as I would with professional grade ceramic coatings.
      The Hybrid Solutions range does have a bit of a curing benefit, but if you happen to get hammered by rain shortly after applying it to the paint, you can pretty much rectify this by reapplying an additional coat after the next wash and not think much about it. I think the Ceramic Acrylic Black collection is interesting and will work for most guys out there with black paint, but I find the regular Ceramic Polish & Wax and Ceramic Spray Coating to be highly effective on black as well, and I preferred Ceramic Polish & Wax on one particular car that I did compared to Ceramic Acrylic Black Polish in direct sunlight, seemed a bit easier to work with.
      303's new Graphene spray I'm certainly interesting in testing out in the future, looking forward to seeing how that one performs as much of the other testers have given it great first impressions.

      With as much as you get in the bottle, it’s definitely a good value but I can tell that CQUK does have a better ability to maintain hydrophobics by itself without toppers. If you’re planning on running regular polishing every 6 months to a year then CQ Lite could be a very good option.

    Really enjoy your analysis, and attention to detail, like running tests in parallel on diffetent paints sytems. Will you be running a side by side test on the TWHS Ceramic products vs. the TWHS Black Ceramic Acrylic products. I'm curious to see the differences in gloss, color richness, depth, etc., and how the durability compares, To have enhancers specific to dark colors, does that affect durability?

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 года назад +1

      Thanks Jay! Right now I don’t currently have a durability test of a side by side section with the new Black Polish and the Ceramic Polish & Wax, which is solely due to the lack of space and the number of different products that I’m currently working with. I may see if I can squeeze them in on an area in the future. I am planning on pulling the GoPro out for direct testing footage using those side by side on the test panel to check for ease of use and short term performance in direct sunlight. Stay tuned I’m hoping to have this up soon.

    Which coating(anyone can buy) do you feel has the best/longest hydrophobics with no topper? Thanks for the video!

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 года назад +2

      Hey Mark! CSL will definitely lose hydrophobic performance faster than CQUK 3.0. I still think CQUK is the best coating for the price, and has some of the strongest hydrophobics that will definitely last with maintenance, that doesn't require a specific full blown top coat like Gliss to get the job done. CQUK + Hybrid Ceramic Detailer at this moment would be what I would use if I were crazy enough to dump the old beater E28 BMW and grab a newer car that actually had paint on it.
      If I was using CSL, I would most likely go with EXO for the topper which is a good system that lasts. But just very pricey.

      Give me beading or give me death! :D I can't say that I've noticed a difference in spotting levels as the sprinklers and rain never dump enough volume of water down on my paint to force flooding to occur unless the paint is seriously contaminated with road grime, even on much less hydrophobic protectants.

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 года назад

      Hey Jason, I much prefer the Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer as a topper compared to TW Hybrid Solutions. The Turtle Wax is heavier and less hydrophobic, this will cover up the properties of CQUK to a higher level and you'll likely notice a drop in hydrophobic performance out of CQUK when it's fresher.

    Always love these reviews and updates. Rumor has it that DPC will be releasing a new solvent based Armor with better hydrophobics, any thoughts on testing?

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 года назад +1

      Thanks Collin! Very interesting about the new update to Armor, are they planning on keeping the original formula? I've heard a lot of good things about the Kingsguard protectant in terms of hydrophobic performance, so you've got the Armor for the shine and gloss in a topper role that covers for the discontinued Reflect, the Kingsguard for that more durable hydrophobic performance and I think that's a good balance currently. Armor always showed me weak hydrophobic durability, but the gloss and slickness was noticeable, and it outclassed Reflect for me.

    • @collinhopper7542
      @collinhopper7542 4 года назад +2

      @@WaxMode Honestly, I have no idea if DPC will be keeping the original formula or for how long. I wouldn't be surprised if the old formula of Armor remained in backstock for some period of time, as there have been a few people in the DPC FB group that have purchased both Reflect and the bordered Sucker towels, rather recently. I have yet to play with Kingsguard, but have heard and seen good things about it as well, I've seen that it leaves the finish looking like a shiny piece of candy, similar to how FK1000P sits on paint. It is honestly hard for me to justify the price of Kingsguard when I can buy a gallon of Mckee's 37 Trademark Extender Spray Wax for under the price of two 16oz bottles of Kingsguard. Scott has been testing a solvent based Kingsguard as well, and the short term hydrophobics look rather impressive. I honestly do not know what to think about these universal protectants, products like DPC Kingsguard, Meg's Ultimate Fast Finish, and Mckee's 37 Trademark Extender Spray Wax, they are interesting, but where do we draw the line with toppers? ha. I too have loved DPC Armor for its shine, gloss, slickness, and filling ability, but hydrophobics have always been awful, particularly the last few months as I have been trying to use my bottle up, I can't throw anything away. The last few months I have been exposing original Armor, on my vehicle, to an environment with pretty high levels of minerals in the city water, rain water, and actual road way (which would be stirred up by rainstorms and vehicles). Without a topper for original Armor, water has clung to vertical panels more than it would to bare paint, all because of the minerals found in the environment. I certainly hope solvent based Armor can perform better in the longterm. However, when comparing original Armor to legacy sealants like FK1000P, the FK still has the edge in acid resistance (water spotting and bird bombs). FK1000P, Mckee's 37 Trademark Extender Spray Wax and Rinse Free WW has been a pretty hard combo to beat. Regarding Reflect, I think it was just a "sexy" spray wax that when mixed with DPC Revive created a pretty slick quick detailer, I actually have some left that I have been trying to use up.... Just wanted to throw the update on Armor across your bow as your testing has been pretty objective.

      The design for Lite is to be a bit easier to work with than CQUK, and you're correct with less durability. However a lot of guys have gotten very competitive durability out of Lite, but I haven't noticed a significant ease of use advantage, it certainly feels like your applying and removing a full coating on the paint when using it. CQuartz Lite I would want to polish the paint with a regular abrasive polish, then use a prep spray like Prep-All before applying it, this you treat like a full-blown paint coating. So my process would be to wash, then check for bonded contaminants and clay if I need to, then a light finishing polish, then Prep-All, then CQuartz Lite. You don’t want to use Ceramic Polish & Wax to prep for CQuartz, it needs a pure abrasive to bond better to bare clearcoat.

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 года назад +2

      Outside of Optimum, I'm not aware of any company that has published UV testing for their products. I would assume that the UV resistance and effectiveness against bird bombs would be on par with other offerings in the market, but I can only guess.
      A lot of times bird bombs will eat through the protection, it depends on what the bird's diet was but you have to realize if bird bombs are strong enough to etch highly protective and strong thick clearcoats, then they will also likely be able to eat through or diminish much thinner waxes/sealants/coatings. However the Ceramic Spray Coating is certainly chemically resistant in the short term at a minimum. The protection should be better than having nothing on the paint.

Like MarkS says, it's my favorite panel wipe product that I've worked with so far. I still like to use PPE when using it, it does have a high solvent scent which can give you some headaches so I usually have a half-mask respirator during use and wear nitrile gloves. Price is great, usually around $25 for a gallon but it's shot up recently to above $30 on Amazon. Compared to other over-the-counter options like Duplicolor and Rustoleum's soy-based wax and grease remover, Prep-All is leagues above them in my experience.

    Instead of the side, could you do the hood, roof and trunk instead.

      Unfortunately all of the horizontal panels on these cars have significant paint failure occurring so I can only run long term testing on the vertical panels.

    Let's be clear, there is no Ceramic in the Turtle Wax products. SiO2 is not same as Ceramic.

    For the price difference, CQuartz Lite should behave much better than the TW products.

      Definitely, there is a sizable price and time and experience investment needed to work with the stronger ceramics compared to the Hybrid Solutions. Ultimately I did want this side of the test car to showcase the hydrophobic durability advantages of the different types of ceramics.

      WaxMode your test is quite informative. I recently bought TW hybrid solutions and plan to use it soon once I polish my truck. Based on your test, it’s a little disappointing the longevity in its hydrophobicity. All other torcher tests show its very chemical resistant, but based on your test on on one other 3 month update in another video, it seems it dies on its own long short of the 12 month projection from TW. I’ll still give it a shot, but at least it was cheap.

    They don't last as long on the hood and roof

    I'm my opinion, this video makes turtle wax look weak. My reasoning being, I wash my car every other week and I always apply some type of spray coating at that time. I would never wait any longer than 2 weeks. The results have been nothing less than what you're seeing from a ceramic coating. These spray coatings are readily available and affordable. So I will use them habitually.

      That is the problem with a pure durability test, and I’d never be subjecting the paint to this type of unmaintained process outside of a test. Therefore it is perfectly acceptable to reject this type of test as irrelevant. What this should showcase to me personally is that the protectants have the durability to be able to handle the role of a base layer protectant, and we need the data to prove that using a pure test. Which again, these results may only be relevant to my paint and my environment.
