Folks, if you like the bass guitar Band-Maid is the band to get into. MISA is world-class! Wait till you see her pick-to-slap-to-pick technique! (You can see it in their track Onset or Domination LIVE.)
If you want another back and forth like this but slower, check out the live video for Don't You Tell Me. The live version of Puzzle is also FIRE! If you want to see actual fire check out the video for Shambles.
Was working in rock business almost 30 years, seen few thousand gigs, seen all the major ones multiple times and never seen or heard better band than Band-Maid. They have it all..Passion Work Heart Talent Groove 💥 Magical band, amazing musicians, best friends. For me..Kanami Tōno, lead guitarist and composer, is the most impressive musician of the 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer and true Rock n’ Roll star on stage. Greatest band in this Universe. Lovin’ Band-Maid 🔥❤️ Greets from Finland 🇫🇮🤘
Well said, I worked in the Oz rock scene for a couple of decades crewing and drumming for many top line acts and as good as many of them were, none comes close to the musical miracle known as BAND -MAID, truly phenomenal, cheers from Australia 🇦🇺🦘👍🍻
@@brunobryant4846 Hey Bruno. I've grown up on all the Aussie legends as well (AC/DC played at my school when they were just startin out - then I was hooked on that genre of music for life). But as you say, BAND MAID are the greatest band that I have ever listened too. I've been a fan for roughly 4 years and listen to them daily cos nobody else does it like them. Cheers from Western Vic.

Band-Maid had another bass/lead guitar conversation during this concert. The song was "Don't You Tell ME". MISA, the bassist and Kanami, the lead guitarist often do these conversation/duels in their live concerts. The fans love it. "Don't You Tell ME" is well worth a reaction in the future.

Hi Guys. Welcome to Band-Maid and their fans. The genre is Band-Maid- punk, classic rock, hard rock, metal. Sometimes in one song. Thanks for the reaction (UK).
Welcome aboard guys. Please check out more of their live performances. Freedom, Domination, Play, Day Dreaming, One and Only, Hibana, etc.... The maids rock!
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Band-Maid is one of my two favorite bands in my country. The other is BABYMETAL😍. My wife and I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. We were in bliss going through very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter 😄)
Best rock band on the planet. Baby Metal doesn't write their own music and don't play the instruments and we're created by corporation. Band Maid is none of those things.
"Not Babymetal level..." Excuse me? Babymetal is three pop singers playing at being metalheads backed up by a metal band. Band Maid is a REAL band composed of five elite musicians who write their own music and play their own instruments.
Band-Maid: the pop-punk band that metalheads can wrap their brains around. Miku Kobato, the pop singer who eventually became Band-Maid's rhythm guitarist, formed the band back in 2013, pitching it to a management agency that promoted idol groups. They spent a year figuring out their direction, almost getting their contract dropped before there video for "Thrill" went viral, saving the band. From thereon, Band-Maid has grown with every release, becoming a songwriting machine cranking out a seeming endless stream of songs, experimenting with new ways of originating songs. They write constantly and have a catalog of over 130 released songs. They now self produce and they tour internationally. If they're playing anywhere near you, go see them, they put on a great live show, the musicianship is top level, and when they interact with the audience they are hilarious and a fun time!
The Japanese metal/rock scene is the best in the world currently, led by the all-female bands. Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila & Hanabie (+ There are others) are all incredible. It's a deep dive into the Japanese scene and well worth your time. You're missing out if you don't.
You are neck deep in the rabbit hole boys….dive in, you won’t be disappointed. 100+ in their catalogue and they don’t miss. Live generally best, that said, try From Now On (MV), Puzzle (official live), Domination (official live), Warning (MV), then whatever you like, lucky dip 😊
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. While they don't class themselves as a metal band, they don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 12th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!
I have seen Misa (Band-Maid's barefoot bassist) pick, pluck, slap and tap. The lead guitarist -- one of the two duelling out front -- is the composer, and she likes to give the bassist and drummer a lot of room to compose and play their own parts of the songs. The lead and backup singer do the lyrics -- in this song it was the lead singer, expressing her anger at unfaithful men during the Covid shutdown -- apparently there were plenty of stories in Japan of people being unfaithful during Covid. Both the bassist and the lead guitarist are excellent at their craft -- as is the drummer. Band-Maid do play punk rock, which is popular in Japan, but also other styles. Maybe try "Manners"/"Black Hole" -- a double feature recorded during Covid (no audience) -- to get an idea of their range: "Manners" is funky and groovy (with lots of good bass work), "Black Hole" is frantic prog rock ... or something -- and it hits 220bpm, Band-Maid's fastest song.
BAND-MAID is #1 for me these last 10 years. That said, they have introduced me to a lot of fantastic bands with magnificent musicians including Nightwish from the other side of the planet. Okay, why not try another Far East Japanese, all female band such as NEMOPHILA with their latest release G.O.D. I promise you won't be disappointed. Thank you for your wonderful reaction to BAND-MAID. I hope you will listen to more of their music.
When you discover the best rock band on the planet 🌎 is 5 Japanese women dressed as Maids. 😃🇯🇵 So…Congratulations on improving your life immensely today! 👏🏼😎 Finding the Maids can be a life-changing experience of pure JOY! 🤩 The Maids are a remarkable collection of talented musicians who excel at every aspect of modern Rock music creation: Composition, Arrangement, Songwriting, Orchestration, Instrumentation, Recording, Production, Playing and Performance. If you stick with the journey, you’ll see it’s true. As for more songs; 😂. It’s a bit of a joke with us Masters & Princesses (or Maidiacs, if you prefer), because, literally, the Maids are probably the single most PROLIFIC band at writing great song after great song - EVER. They have songs across the rock music genre spectrum - we say they are their own genre. 🤷🏻♂️ Seriously, I’m not kidding - you’ll easily get 50-75 different song suggestions from 100 different people. And there’s a saying in the community; “Your favorite Band-Maid” song is the next one you listen to. 🤷🏻♂️ My contributions for next cover a diverse set of songs: - “Don’t You Tell Me” - OLV - “Shambles” - OMV - “Manners” - OMV - Then, “Manners / Black Hole” - official online live video - “Dice” - OMV - “Real Existence” - official live video - “Influencer” - OMV - “Warning” - OMV - “Bubble” - OMV - “Wonderland” - official live video - “Daydreaming” - OMV And you must check out their latest release, a full-on collaboration with the Mexican 🇲🇽 Villarreal sisters of The Warning ⚠️ Band-Maid with The Warning - “SHOW THEM” - OMV And The Warning have released a Behind-the -Scenes which is fantastic! - The Warning First Trip to Japan with BAND-MAID. Nice reaction. Thanks. Feel free to pause, comment, and rewind. It's good to hear what knowledgable folks have to say. They are definitely more punk than metal although the music is really fusion. Punk and metal influenced hard rock with pop vocals a bit of R&B, hip hop, and jazz tossed in. Check out Influencer, Domination Live, From Now On, and Blooming to get a taste of the variety. They have over a hundred songs so you won't run out for a while.
Thanks for nice reaction and for support the Band Maid. However, If you like strictly power and thrash metal music, there is another fantastic all -female Japanese band called Lovebites, five ladies extremely talented and skillful. I suggest you take a look at their YT channel where you will find all the videos you want, even the very recent ones (I recommend "Soldier stands solitarily" LIVE). Personally I am a fan of both Band Maid and Lovebites, according to their different musical genre
Great reaction and your horizons going to get really, really big from now on. Band-Maid stands as one of the best hard rock bands around, but Japan also has a large rock/metal environment with some great metal bands. Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid and hope you continue down the Band0-Maid path.
Some of their lyrics "candy or whip what do you like" "Ten minutes of limp gymnastics" those are just 2 examples. I have been so enthralled with the music that I failed to notice just how good the lyrics are in all their songs.
Welcome to Bandmaid!! These incredible musicians has been writing their own songs since 2016 and total of 130+ songs in 11 years of their career as a band. Highly recommend out more if you are intrigued.
You have opened the floodgates. They may be the best rock group in the world today (I think they are). They are certainly the most creative band since the Beatles, and they are top-tier musicians. I saw many of the classic rock bands - Purple, Zeppelin, Queen, Santana, many more, all in their heyday. I’ve seen Band-maid three times and their performances stand up to any of those legendary bands. You are going to get a lot of suggestions. First, a little background on the band: Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994 MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992 Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991 Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991 Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990 Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through. She envisoned the idea of a maid-band that plays hard rock and metal. She recruited Kanami, after finding a Kanami guitar cover on line; Kanami then recruited Akane, who recruited MISA. Akane and MISA had been students together at the Tokyo Music Academy. The group decided they needed more vocal “oomph”, and collectively recruited Saiki. Miku didn't know how to play guitar when they started, so Kanami has been teaching her. She's become good so fast that she is really adding to the music mix, and Maidiacs are daring to dream of a dual shred. The band was struggling early on, and in 2014, even as the label was considering dropping them, they posted the music video for “Thrill” which went viral globally. When they realized what was going on, it gave them the momentum to forge ahead, and they have now done multiple tours of Europe and the U.S. and are building a global fanbase who call themselves the Maidiacs. They have released seven full albums, as well as several EPs, singles and music videos. They have put out around 170 songs, covering a wide variety of styles and sounds, without any duds. They combine a punk vibe with instrumental virtuosity (two things that are often seen as being incompatible), and have done some amazing progressive-rock songs and ballads with a metal edge to them. They toured the U.S. in 2022 and sold out 14 cities in less than 48 hours. They followed it up with a 2023 tour which had to be expanded from their original plans. Their fan base skews heavily to actual practicing musicians. Some of those followed the band to multiple dates and documented everything on youtube-some of the footage is hilarious. I’ve seen them in 2019, 2022 and 2023. Their shows are truly life-reaffirming. So far no announcements of another European tour but it seems likely in 2025. Band-Maid are that rare band that sound perfect live, even better than in the studio. Everything they have posted from their 10thAnniversary concert in Yokohama is absolute fire-I have bought the DVD and recommend you do too. 33 songs, 3 hours of insanity. The best clip on YT from that concert is “Hate?” which you just watched. Here are more links, to older performances: Freedom (Feb 14 2020) ruclips.net/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/видео.html Domination (Feb 14 2020) ruclips.net/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/видео.html Choose Me (Feb 14 2020) ruclips.net/video/HcqitbXgigU/видео.html Onset (Instrumental-insane!) ruclips.net/video/mVrN-j_Uc0U/видео.html And an official MV, one of their most popular: Daydreaming (it’s a slower ballad, gorgeous and truly heart-wrenching): ruclips.net/video/RCaeUkrItyY/видео.html If you want more background, I suggest you react to this classic interview. It's hilarious, it's insightful, you will learn their names for good, and their cuteness will destroy your brain. Oh, and they are completely nuts. ruclips.net/video/R4PofsQYwn4/видео.html
Misa, the bass player, is 75% of the reason the Band-Maid is awesome. Kanami on lead guitar is the other 70%. Akane on drums is the other 70%. Saiki is the other 67%. And Miku is (subtly) the other 104% of the awesome (including harmonizing with Saiki, credit to Saiki there, too). Which is why Band-Maid is 386% awesome, breaking all awsometers used to test them to date. Great reaction RIP, subbed! I hope you react to more Band-Maid again very soon! You'll find a ton of great examples below, but... Madiac Mike's special challenge is to go to their RUclips page, and pick literally ANY song off the page (out of their catalogue of over 130 songs), and you'll get your socks rocked off. Impossible but true!
Ok, you guys are just getting started, and you seem to come from the right place, so here's "The LIst": Japan has had an active all-girl rock and metal scene since at least 1981. This is a starter list of all-female (or in eight cases, mixed gender) metal, punk, hard-rock and post-rock bands, with founding dates where I know them. It's alphabetical, except for the first three, which are at the top of the list for historical reasons. They set the table for the explosion of Japanese female hard-rock, punk and metal bands. Note: I have tried to pick clips that are high quality and are representative of the band's style. If you put the question out there, you are likely to get suggestions mainly for Aldious, Band-Maid, Babymetal, Lovebites, Nemophila, Unlucky Morpheus and Wagakki Band. (If you area long-time listener or reviewer you have undoubtedly heard many of these). You can’t go wrong with any of them, but find time to check out more of the bands on this list. They are all worth the time and deserve the love, and many will really surprise you. My personal favorites include Asterism, Bridear, Doll$Boxx/Gacharic Spin, existTtrace, Hagane, Hanabie, Mary’s Blood, Sokoninaru and Tricot. Ok, the list: Show-Ya (1981) The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring. They have a strong Deep Purple vibe, and in my view they belong in any rock or music hall of fame. “I am the Storm” ruclips.net/video/oJ_5Gv3vFjQ/видео.html Shonen Knife (1981) The world’s first bubblegum punk band. They have done several world tours, and opened for Nirvana, who were big fans. They also perform as a Ramones tribute band called Osaka Ramones. ruclips.net/video/w9LUlYzOiWs/видео.html Destrose (2005) This band was never stable, but has become almost mythic in metal history, because they spun off so many great bands, including Lovebites--you will recognize the drummer and bassist. Here are two clips-a lot of them get taken down so please let me know if either of these is dead: ruclips.net/video/JpyzVlPJC2g/видео.html ruclips.net/video/e-CH-FLS2kM/видео.html (This cuts off just after Narumi’s guitar solo-but they didn’t cut that, and it’s gorgeous.) Aldious (2008) Glamorous and kick-ass rockers. One of the first generation all-girl metal bands, along with Destrose. ruclips.net/video/sfkJT0rra-8/видео.html Asterism (2013) Power trio that will melt your face off. Guitarist Haruka Noma is off the charts talented and just turned 21. ruclips.net/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/видео.html Babymetal (2010) The flagship “Kawaii metal” band and the most well-known Japanese metal act outside of Japan. Combining “Kawaii” (cute) Japanese pop tropes over thunderous heavy metal backing from Kami Band. ruclips.net/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/видео.html Band-Maid (2013) OK, there are 160+ great songs by them. Easily the best known band on this list other than Babymetal, they are more hard rock and prog than metal. Did a 14 city US tour in 2022 that sold out 48 hours after being listed, and a 2023 global 10th anniversary tour. There is a ton of fan footage of that tour up on youtube, a lot of which is great stuff. Here is a live clip: ruclips.net/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/видео.html Bridear (2011) Heavy, technical, and their tiny bassist also growls. They are releasing a new album in June 2024 that is a real killer. This is from their original lineup: ruclips.net/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/видео.html Cyntia (2011) Second wave, hard, heavy, but with prog and symphonic touches. ruclips.net/video/FnhObh5i_3U/видео.html D-Drive (2009) Instrumental progressive metal and fusion; Mixed gender. Extraordinary, technical dual lead guitars featuring Yuki and Seiji) Here is a one of my favorites, a gorgeous, moody jazz-blues-prog fusion number: ruclips.net/video/m5G3nXJtSzQ/видео.html Disqualia (2015) Destrose spin-out, featuring Narumi, one of the best guitarists of this generation, and Hazuki, then an up-and-coming talent who is now the lead guitarist of Nemophila. ruclips.net/video/-M5zBKrTJRg/видео.html Doll$Boxx (2012) Wild mix of metal, electropop, and god-knows what else; a collaboration between Fuki, best-known as the co-founder of Unlucky Morpheus, and Gacharic Spin. ruclips.net/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/видео.html East of Eden (2023) Supergroup assembled by Ayasa, the fabulous violinist whose day job is with Morphonica, one of the BangDream projects. Guitar: Yuki from D-Drive; Drums: Mizuki from Lonesome Blue; Bass: Wakazaemon, from Marty Friedman’s band; Vocals: Minato Akane, from Predia) “Evolve” ruclips.net/video/gL2GQWhJaNQ/видео.html existTtrace (2003) Best-known female Visual Kei band. Progressive, technical, some death-metal and goth touches) They have kept their original lineup intact for 20 years and counting. ruclips.net/video/Oz1Lv8XGBF0/видео.html Fate Gear (2015) Super-group, one of the Destrose spinouts-continually changing lineup built around Mina (g) and (with occasional detours) Erica (b); I consider this video one of the best on this list: ruclips.net/video/tLQbsoKQN-0/видео.html Gacharic Spin (2009) Founded by two high school classmates, Hana (Dr, Vo, multiple instruments) and Koga (B) who had already been in other bands (and was previously a lingerie model). Everything from punk-pop to heavy metal and progressive; highly technical. Here is their first video, with original singer Armmy (d. 2015): ruclips.net/video/vfzIt20_xXg/видео.html Gallhammer (2003) Black/Death/Doom/Punk; this is from their 2007 UK/Europe tour; co-founder Vivien Slaughter is now making electronic ambient music(!) ruclips.net/video/2fTiyOO1nZE/видео.html Galmet (2006) Straight-up death metal, but in prom dresses. ruclips.net/video/PnvrOLeRt-I/видео.html Ganglion (2010) Metal with a hint of electronica: ruclips.net/video/q9j4t3Ms-Sg/видео.html Hagane (2018) Started with Sakura posting blistering metal guitar covers on youtube while in high-school, and the rest of the girls finding her; full lineup came together in 2019. They broke up in 2023 but have reformed with a new lineup, still built around Sakura, and now featuring the wild and crazy Junna on drums. Here, Sakura does a magical solo using a Phrygian scale at warp speed: ruclips.net/video/k8NTRJ_yTxY/видео.html Hanabie (2019) Kawaii death metal, deathcore, thrash (they jokingly call it “Harajuku-core, after a district in Tokyo famous for exuberant youth culture). Technical. Most frequent comment is “That’s nuts.” One of the bands to watch over the next few years, they played three North American festivals in 2023 and are continuing to tour. ruclips.net/video/G18yyvPCiTM/видео.html Kakumei (2013--see Trident, below) Koiai/Lisa-X Band (2013) Prodigy guitarist Lisa-X and a rotating cast of fellow bandmembers, often including Hazuki (of Disqualia and Nemophila). Lisa-X formed her first band in 2013 at the age of eight. She has done collaborations with a host of top musicians including Polyphia, Saki, Yuki (of D-Drive) and Billy Sheehan. ruclips.net/video/mN_oLqTka6M/видео.html After original vocalist Rina left the band, they rebranded as Koiai. Lonesome Blue (2021) Progressive rock, pop-metal fusion. This was Narumi’s (see below) long-awaited new band; unfortunately, she parted ways with them after only one album. This song is a wild fusion of classic Disco with Metal: ruclips.net/video/aEdyEEnMTy8/видео.html Lovebites (2016) Modern Power, Speed, Thrash and Heavy Metal. Already making a global splash, melodic but brain-meltingly technical. Here is their most famous official MV-it’s even better than Shadowmaker IMO: “When Destinies Align” ruclips.net/video/hLFelI93VkM/видео.html Mardelas (2014) Another spin-off from Destrose; mixed male/female; leader Marina Hebiishi has one of the best voices in metal ruclips.net/video/Wd8P7wTnWJs/видео.html Mary's Blood (2008) The first major Destrose spin-out; Jedi-level lineup. Here, in their most famous video, Saki murders her guitar without breaking any nails: “Marionette” ruclips.net/video/MLM2unV0kwU/видео.html Maximum the Hormone (1998) Crazy, chaotic mashups of deathcore, nu-metal, pop and high-speed rapping. Co-founder Nao (drums) is the female member of the band. She has been a major influence on female drummers throughout Japan. This clip captures just a bit of the madness: 予襲復讐 (Yoshu Fukushu) ruclips.net/video/beN5ep5MrdY/видео.html MergingMoon (2010) Mix of prog and melodic death metal. Vocalist U is Japan’s terrifying answer to Tatiana of the Ukrainian metalcore/deathcore band Jinjer. ruclips.net/video/sIL-vgHNOu0/видео.html Muses (2020) Hard fusion with funk overtones; Supergroup assembled by the guitarist, Rie aka Suzaku, and including Juna Serita, the phenomenal bassist who was previously with Tokyo Groove Jyoshi and is now also with the Jazz Avengers. They absolutely rip. ruclips.net/video/exbIYCTQdpo/видео.html Mutant Monster (2008) Punk-pop, really good at it. Unfortunately, they have not been active in some time. ruclips.net/video/Fd6ymMR40NU/видео.html This was Part I. Part II is in the next comment (it's too long to put all of it in one comment.)
I'm glad you mentioned Armmy in the Gacharic Spin section. She was probably the most charismatic frontwomen of the Japanese scene. It's such a shame that she died so young, but what a great job the other girls did with the band, and what a great replacement singer they found with Angie. They also toured with Band Maid as Doll$boxx when they were younger.
You are going to miss a lot with only one earpiece. Miku plays rhythm guitar in your left ear and Kanami plays lead guitar in your right ear. You are not hearing them both unless you are sending the audio it to your earpiece in monophonic.
Part II: Narumi (solo) Prog-rock and fusion compositions-a change of pace from a master guitarist who was once the star lead for Destrose. She was later part of Lonesome Blue, but recently left. I’m sure she will turn up with another band. ruclips.net/video/cRyCaHjwIgk/видео.html Nemophila: (2019) Supergroup ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu, ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki, ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam. They were founded as a five-piece with dual leads, the other guitarist being former Mary’s Blood shred-master Saki. I’ve seen them live and they are just explosive. Saki left in early 2024. ruclips.net/video/lh-dVLKP314/видео.html 54 Nude Honeys (1992) Early Japanese punk-they toured the UK and Europe, and reports are that their crowds were as crazy as the crowds at Sex Pistols concerts. ruclips.net/video/jHnJSoGN5Mk/видео.html Otoboke Beaver (2009) In-your-face feminist thrash punk, way out there. They have toured Europe and the U.S.: ruclips.net/video/fkWfFXnLpYg/видео.html Paranoid Void (2013) Extremely technical prog and math rock, founded by three high-school classmates, maybe the most mind-bending band on this list.) “Ukiyo” ruclips.net/video/LIP0uf6Lpco/видео.html Rie aka Suzaku (38 y.o.) Instrumental guitar virtuoso. She is also the founder of Muses, a high-intensity fusion band (see above.) ruclips.net/video/2riBS7MvZvc/видео.html Sokoninaru (2011) Progressive metal, math rock, extremely technical; male/female cofounders) ruclips.net/video/MVxl0zXZBR4/видео.html Sonic Lover Reckless (2018) Special project of Miyako Watanabe, one of Lovebites’ two incomparable guitarists) ruclips.net/video/DXZ-qhxd1VI/видео.html Telecide (2016) Metalcore, aggressive and melodic at the same time. Others that come to mind are BRATS (cofounded by one of the members of Ladybaby), Drop’s, Stereopony, Scandal (still touring globally), and Princess Princess, which all tend more in the pop direction. On the metal side, there are the Bang-Dream projects, which are live groups based on Manga series (there are 9 bands so far in Bang-Dream). And of course, there are other female-fronted Kawaii-metal groups like Ladybaby and Ironbunny, to name the two best-known after Babymetal. I have found listings of over 600 such bands dating back to 1980. The ones listed above are my picks as the most interesting for reasons of quality, longevity or historical impact. If you find others you think belong on this list, please let me know. And if you find a dead link, also please let me know so I can fix the list. Thank you!
Kanami is like... the nerd rock-star guitar goddess all us nerds want to be but could never be cool or skilled enough. This RUclips account was created in her honor. I'm glad you enjoyed her work in the "lover's spat" between the guitar and bass in this song. Also: MISA! MISA! MISA!
Welcome, Rise Guys - Jake & Rob ;-). You are embarking on (along with many others - over 210 million views just on their official YT channel, plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ruclips.net/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/видео.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Hate?, Shambles, Influencer, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Protect You, Sense, Different, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): ruclips.net/video/7LB_EPS48HE/видео.html) And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts: 2023 Yokohama 10th Year Anniversary Concert “Endless Story” ruclips.net/video/Za1y-RRVd70/видео.html ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” ruclips.net/video/nAdWnIRjGak/видео.html Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” ruclips.net/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/видео.html ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” ruclips.net/video/-qQnKILR5u0/видео.html Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. Thanks boys! And welcome to pin the tail on the style! As you try out some more Band-Maid -- and you must -- you'll be left in awe of this multi-faceted rock juggernaut. Their core sound is hard rock, but blend in punk, thrash, rock ballads, funk, prog, blues, and whatever else suits them. Thrashy: Warning, Blooming, Blackhole, No God; more great rock with smokin solos: Domination, Don't you tell ME (yokohama); amazing instrumentals: From Now on and Without Holding Back; ballads: Daydreaming, endless story. See ya later!
They don't stick to one style They do heaps of stuff including acoustic and they have 120 songs. Have you done NEMOPHILA yet? They are punk metal and all girl Japanese band with two of the members being married with children. Try their songs Rise or Revive.
Babymetal is not a rock band at all. Grown women dance pretending to be teenagers. Session musicians hide their faces so that they won't be recognized in other projects. This should have been watched 10 years ago. BAND-MAID is honest. Here are the girls, here is the music.
Bandmaid don't socialise with babymetal but they do hang out with members of the Kamiband. Not hard to see why. Not that I have anything against those three kids.
@@stevekane4922 Yep, good on them for their performances, but not my cup of tea. I've seen a couple videos of just the Kamiband playing which I really enjoyed.
Good job picking up the punk rock influences. “Hard Rock Fusion” is how I describe Band Maid. And they are, along with artists like Ghost, one of the most creative and important rock artists of this century. You haven’t even scratched the surface of the depths of this band. Don’t let the outfits fool you. “DICE,” official music video is exactly what I would prescribe as a second course. A proper rock song with some of the classic DNA the Maids revive, along with their unique progressive elements. Balanced attack. Infectiously fun. Deceptively complex. Only one Band Maid ❤
Any other songs by Band Maid we would like you to react to? Only about 120+ more, not counting the new ones they will put out while you work your way through that list 😅. There are a few “staples” that new reactors should check out: Domination (live), Real Existence (live), Dice (MV), Choose Me (MV), Play (Live), Onset (Live), From Now On (MV), Alone (MV), Blooming (MV), Freedom (live), Rinne (MV) to start with… welcome to the pigeon hole
Japan is FULL of all female metal and rock bands. Excellent musicians are everywhere in Japan. Top ones you will get requested are Nemophila, Hanabie and Lovebites. All metal, all vastly different and all world class ass kickers. Thing is their are so many ,ore all female, male or mixed bands in Japan.
Thank you guys for reacting to our maids. Please also react to Lovebites Soldiers stand solitarily live 2023, Nemophila oiran official live and Hanabie we love sweets. These are all female Japanese metal bands. Greetings from a new subscriber from Romania
Gents put a mark on the calendar to remind you that this was the day you were introduced to 5 stunningly talented Rock Goddesses with more creativity and composition in one song than many bands have in an album. B-M has a glorious back catalogue that drifts over multiple genres, like Frank Zappa they are musically fearless they will also steal your heart as you get to know them at the same time as they set fire to the stage. What a fcken band Po 👍🍻
R I P , Welcome to BAND-MAID , Enjoy your journey down the Pigeon hole , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin , BAND-MAID is there own genre , next song Domination official live video .

PS, how about Blooming or Domination or Bubble is the next song? I hope you`ll enjoy it! Their genre is band-maid. Maybe you can`t pin it down to one genre. Their music runs through their blood, so it can`t be called metal.

#Rise If you want incredible talented Drummer. Try Haruna Ishikawa from LOVEBITES , she's a Friend of AKANÉ the Drummer of BAND MAID. a song from LOVEBITES you Can pick SOLDIER STANDS SOLITARILY. Lovebites is easy for you they've choose to sing in English. They're Japonese to
Congratulations on finding one of the best bands on the planet. If you wanna hear some real power, metal, and you like five piece of female bands, check out Lovebites. They are to power metal and thrash metal what band made is to hard rock/punk. Virtuosos all. (My suggestion would be some of their latest concert videos, especially if you like thrash then go with soldier stands solitarily. But definitely go live.)
You're getting a taste of the Japanese hard Rock. Have you stepped into the Japanese heavy Metal yet? because Baby Metal is Kawii Metal. You might want to check out a band called "Nemophila". recommend a few songs to get you started... take your pick. "Revive" or "Rise" or "Seize the Fate" Official Live or Music Video... which ever you prefer... I think you'll really like Nemophila...
There are oodles of Metal bands in Japan, including many, many all female bands. Please don’t compare them all to BABYMETAL. There is only one BABYMETAL, and they are an Idol group, not a Metal band. And don’t wait for somebody to tell you about great bands you should listen to. Unearth them yourselves.
Well there are a lot of similar metal idol groups like Babymetal. It has become a subgenre on its own. Passcode or Broken by the Scream for example (the difference is that these 2 include gutural vocalists).
Both Babymetal and bandmaid are great for different reasons. Ill defend both. The girls from babymetal are part of a metal band and started out around 13 yrs old selling out arenas...you cant get more metal then that. Calling out the ladies in Babymetal would be like calling out the lead singer in bandmaid...doesnt make sense. Babymetal probably has the best crowd control of all time from any band, thats 100% due to the ladies. Not all bands can do that, even the great ones. Band-Maid obviously has some of the best female musicians in the world 🌎, definitely check out Bamd-Maid From Now on music video Definitely would like to see yall react to Babymetal - Rondo of Nightmare with mischiefs of God intro budokan live (best display of the kami band, and its dark and eire, and Su kills it on the vocals especially towards the end).
oh those cute little MAIDS - they will kick your ass sideways ! japanese girl groups are ruling the rock and metal world and have been for the last 10 - 15 years. BAND MAID - top of the rock pile. 11 years of songs to check out. for the best metal band LOVEBITES takes the prize. don't pass up the official mv for their live performance of 'holy war'. melting faces around the world : ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.html
This was BAND-MAID's 10 year anniversary concert. HATE was song 27 out of 33 I believe, show was over 3-hrs long.
The MAID's bring it every time.
You believe? beacuse that was way too accurate :P Concert was just over 3:34 hrs long:)
@@tcntad87 My memory is not as good as it once was, but sometimes it still works LOL.
@@omdtdz hehe as long as band-maid memory works its all good :p

THE best Hard Rock band on the planet. Even better live. Think that should be enough info to cover everything.
You just heard the BEST current rock band on the planet !!!!!
Whatever style you are looking for. Eventually you will find it with Band-Maid. Best Band in the World.
Best rock band on the planet. Baby Metal doesn't write their own music and don't play the instruments and we're created by corporation. Band Maid is none of those things.
Welcome to the fandom! These girls are amazing! ♥
I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
"Not Babymetal level..." Excuse me? Babymetal is three pop singers playing at being metalheads backed up by a metal band. Band Maid is a REAL band composed of five elite musicians who write their own music and play their own instruments.
And are now completely independent. They recently left their management company.
The best live rock band on the planet...maybe ever. The pigeon founded an epic band.
You should check out, From now on. It's a instrumental but fantastic.
Hey Rise Inside Productions.
Welcome to the world of Band-Maid.
Hope to see more Band-Maid here in the future.
Band-Maid has a huge catalog of great songs. Live and produced videos. You can’t miss - just pick one
Great reaction!! Check out Don't You Tell Me Live if you like the battles.
Yep that's the song.😁👍

Welcome home masters, 🕊💜po!
BAND-MAid has a lot more to offer if you like live performances.
Pick any official live video you won't be disapointed.
BOTH earpieces dude!!!!! Kanami and Miku play on different channels.
The other one is broken……
BAND-MAID is #1 for me these last 10 years. That said, they have introduced me to a lot of fantastic bands with magnificent musicians including Nightwish from the other side of the planet. Okay, why not try another Far East Japanese, all female band such as NEMOPHILA with their latest release G.O.D. I promise you won't be disappointed. Thank you for your wonderful reaction to BAND-MAID. I hope you will listen to more of their music.
When you discover the best rock band on the planet 🌎 is 5 Japanese women dressed as Maids. 😃🇯🇵
So…Congratulations on improving your life immensely today! 👏🏼😎
Finding the Maids can be a life-changing experience of pure JOY! 🤩
The Maids are a remarkable collection of talented musicians who excel at every aspect of modern Rock music creation: Composition, Arrangement, Songwriting, Orchestration, Instrumentation, Recording, Production, Playing and Performance.
Seriously, I’m not kidding - you’ll easily get 50-75 different song suggestions from 100 different people. And there’s a saying in the community; “Your favorite Band-Maid” song is the next one you listen to. 🤷🏻♂️
My contributions for next cover a diverse set of songs:

Enjoy the journey down the “Pigeon” hole! Take care and rock on! 🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎹🎶😎✌🏼
How true this is.
You gentlemen just found the best band on the planet. These girls crush!
"Don't give a shit no more." - Saiki Atsumi (from the outro)
First, a little background on the band:
Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994
MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992
Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991
Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991
Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990
Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through.

Saiki might say she Hates you. She will even tell you to SHUT UP. BUT She always does it with love.
Welcome to *Band Maid!*
Ok, you guys are just getting started, and you seem to come from the right place, so here's "The LIst":
Japan has had an active all-girl rock and metal scene since at least 1981.
Ok, the list:
Show-Ya (1981) The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring. They have a strong Deep Purple vibe, and in my view they belong in any rock or music hall of fame. “I am the Storm” ruclips.net/video/oJ_5Gv3vFjQ/видео.html
Shonen Knife (1981) The world’s first bubblegum punk band. They have done several world tours, and opened for Nirvana, who were big fans. They also perform as a Ramones tribute band called Osaka Ramones. ruclips.net/video/w9LUlYzOiWs/видео.html
Destrose (2005) This band was never stable, but has become almost mythic in metal history, because they spun off so many great bands, including Lovebites--you will recognize the drummer and bassist. Here are two clips-a lot of them get taken down so please let me know if either of these is dead:
ruclips.net/video/JpyzVlPJC2g/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/e-CH-FLS2kM/видео.html
(This cuts off just after Narumi’s guitar solo-but they didn’t cut that, and it’s gorgeous.)
Aldious (2008) Glamorous and kick-ass rockers. One of the first generation all-girl metal bands, along with Destrose. ruclips.net/video/sfkJT0rra-8/видео.html
Asterism (2013) Power trio that will melt your face off. Guitarist Haruka Noma is off the charts talented and just turned 21. ruclips.net/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/видео.html
Babymetal (2010) The flagship “Kawaii metal” band and the most well-known Japanese metal act outside of Japan. Combining “Kawaii” (cute) Japanese pop tropes over thunderous heavy metal backing from Kami Band. ruclips.net/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/видео.html
Band-Maid (2013) OK, there are 160+ great songs by them. Here is a live clip: ruclips.net/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/видео.html
Bridear (2011) Heavy, technical, and their tiny bassist also growls. They are releasing a new album in June 2024 that is a real killer. This is from their original lineup: ruclips.net/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/видео.html
Cyntia (2011) Second wave, hard, heavy, but with prog and symphonic touches.
ruclips.net/video/FnhObh5i_3U/видео.html
D-Drive (2009) Instrumental progressive metal and fusion; Mixed gender. Extraordinary, technical dual lead guitars featuring Yuki and Seiji) Here is a one of my favorites, a gorgeous, moody jazz-blues-prog fusion number: ruclips.net/video/m5G3nXJtSzQ/видео.html
Disqualia (2015) Destrose spin-out, featuring Narumi, one of the best guitarists of this generation, and Hazuki, then an up-and-coming talent who is now the lead guitarist of Nemophila. ruclips.net/video/-M5zBKrTJRg/видео.html
Doll$Boxx (2012) Wild mix of metal, electropop, and god-knows what else; a collaboration between Fuki, best-known as the co-founder of Unlucky Morpheus, and Gacharic Spin. ruclips.net/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/видео.html
East of Eden (2023) Supergroup assembled by Ayasa, the fabulous violinist whose day job is with Morphonica, one of the BangDream projects. Guitar: Yuki from D-Drive; Drums: Mizuki from Lonesome Blue; Bass: Wakazaemon, from Marty Friedman’s band; Vocals: Minato Akane, from Predia) “Evolve” ruclips.net/video/gL2GQWhJaNQ/видео.html
existTtrace (2003) Best-known female Visual Kei band. Progressive, technical, some death-metal and goth touches) They have kept their original lineup intact for 20 years and counting. ruclips.net/video/Oz1Lv8XGBF0/видео.html
Fate Gear (2015) Super-group, one of the Destrose spinouts-continually changing lineup built around Mina (g) and (with occasional detours) Erica (b); I consider this video one of the best on this list: ruclips.net/video/tLQbsoKQN-0/видео.html
Gacharic Spin (2009) Founded by two high school classmates, Hana (Dr, Vo, multiple instruments) and Koga (B) who had already been in other bands (and was previously a lingerie model). Everything from punk-pop to heavy metal and progressive; highly technical. Here is their first video, with original singer Armmy (d. 2015): ruclips.net/video/vfzIt20_xXg/видео.html
Gallhammer (2003) Black/Death/Doom/Punk; this is from their 2007 UK/Europe tour; co-founder Vivien Slaughter is now making electronic ambient music(!) ruclips.net/video/2fTiyOO1nZE/видео.html
Galmet (2006) Straight-up death metal, but in prom dresses. ruclips.net/video/PnvrOLeRt-I/видео.html
Ganglion (2010) Metal with a hint of electronica:
ruclips.net/video/q9j4t3Ms-Sg/видео.html
Hagane (2018) Started with Sakura posting blistering metal guitar covers on youtube while in high-school, and the rest of the girls finding her; full lineup came together in 2019. They broke up in 2023 but have reformed with a new lineup, still built around Sakura, and now featuring the wild and crazy Junna on drums. Here, Sakura does a magical solo using a Phrygian scale at warp speed:
ruclips.net/video/k8NTRJ_yTxY/видео.html
Hanabie (2019) Kawaii death metal, deathcore, thrash (they jokingly call it “Harajuku-core, after a district in Tokyo famous for exuberant youth culture). Technical. Most frequent comment is “That’s nuts.” One of the bands to watch over the next few years, they played three North American festivals in 2023 and are continuing to tour. ruclips.net/video/G18yyvPCiTM/видео.html
Kakumei (2013--see Trident, below)
Koiai/Lisa-X Band (2013) Prodigy guitarist Lisa-X and a rotating cast of fellow bandmembers, often including Hazuki (of Disqualia and Nemophila).
This song is a wild fusion of classic Disco with Metal: ruclips.net/video/aEdyEEnMTy8/видео.html
Lovebites (2016) Modern Power, Speed, Thrash and Heavy Metal. Already making a global splash, melodic but brain-meltingly technical. Here is their most famous official MV-it’s even better than Shadowmaker IMO: “When Destinies Align” ruclips.net/video/hLFelI93VkM/видео.html
Mardelas (2014) Another spin-off from Destrose; mixed male/female; leader Marina Hebiishi has one of the best voices in metal ruclips.net/video/Wd8P7wTnWJs/видео.html
Mary's Blood (2008) The first major Destrose spin-out; Jedi-level lineup. Here, in their most famous video, Saki murders her guitar without breaking any nails: “Marionette” ruclips.net/video/MLM2unV0kwU/видео.html
Maximum the Hormone (1998) Crazy, chaotic mashups of deathcore, nu-metal, pop and high-speed rapping. Co-founder Nao (drums) is the female member of the band. She has been a major influence on female drummers throughout Japan. This clip captures just a bit of the madness: 予襲復讐 (Yoshu Fukushu) ruclips.net/video/beN5ep5MrdY/видео.html
MergingMoon (2010) Mix of prog and melodic death metal. Vocalist U is Japan’s terrifying answer to Tatiana of the Ukrainian metalcore/deathcore band Jinjer. ruclips.net/video/sIL-vgHNOu0/видео.html
Muses (2020) Hard fusion with funk overtones; Supergroup assembled by the guitarist, Rie aka Suzaku, and including Juna Serita, the phenomenal bassist who was previously with Tokyo Groove Jyoshi and is now also with the Jazz Avengers. They absolutely rip.
ruclips.net/video/exbIYCTQdpo/видео.html
Mutant Monster (2008) Punk-pop, really good at it. Unfortunately, they have not been active in some time.

This was Part I.
MISA, the barefoot assassin on bass.
You are going to miss a lot with only one earpiece. Miku plays rhythm guitar in your left ear and Kanami plays lead guitar in your right ear. You are not hearing them both unless you are sending the audio it to your earpiece in monophonic.
Maybe he's deaf in one ear....i hope he put the earpiece in his hearing ear.😂
The other one is broken…..
Part II:
Narumi (solo) Prog-rock and fusion compositions-a change of pace from a master guitarist who was once the star lead for Destrose. She was later part of Lonesome Blue, but recently left. I’m sure she will turn up with another band. ruclips.net/video/cRyCaHjwIgk/видео.html
Nemophila: (2019) Supergroup ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu, ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki, ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam. They were founded as a five-piece with dual leads, the other guitarist being former Mary’s Blood shred-master Saki. I’ve seen them live and they are just explosive. Saki left in early 2024. ruclips.net/video/lh-dVLKP314/видео.html
54 Nude Honeys (1992) Early Japanese punk-they toured the UK and Europe, and reports are that their crowds were as crazy as the crowds at Sex Pistols concerts. ruclips.net/video/jHnJSoGN5Mk/видео.html
Otoboke Beaver (2009) In-your-face feminist thrash punk, way out there. They have toured Europe and the U.S.: ruclips.net/video/fkWfFXnLpYg/видео.html
Paranoid Void (2013) Extremely technical prog and math rock, founded by three high-school classmates, maybe the most mind-bending band on this list.) “Ukiyo” ruclips.net/video/LIP0uf6Lpco/видео.html
Rie aka Suzaku (38 y.o.) Instrumental guitar virtuoso. She is also the founder of Muses, a high-intensity fusion band (see above.) ruclips.net/video/2riBS7MvZvc/видео.html
Sokoninaru (2011) Progressive metal, math rock, extremely technical; male/female cofounders)
ruclips.net/video/MVxl0zXZBR4/видео.html
Sonic Lover Reckless (2018) Special project of Miyako Watanabe, one of Lovebites’ two incomparable guitarists) ruclips.net/video/DXZ-qhxd1VI/видео.html
Telecide (2016) Metalcore, aggressive and melodic at the same time. Disbanded; Natsumi, their drummer, is now the drummer for Bridear ruclips.net/video/keq-7ZCluFc/видео.html
Tricot (2010) Post-progressive math-rock, highly technical with crazy time signatures and polyrhythms ruclips.net/video/P_B_GalsJrE/видео.html
Trident (formerly Kakumei, renamed in 2020 with some personnel changes). Evolved from pop-punk to thrashier hard rock; several lineup changes but the bassist and lead singer have been constants) ruclips.net/video/9k9txMouU34/видео.html
Unlucky Morpheus (2008) Female leads Fuki (vo) and Jill (violin). This band is a deep well unto itself, they cross many subgenres of metal; Fuki and Jill also do other projects and Fuki is lead for at least two other bands including Doll$Boxx, above. ruclips.net/video/PTuWOWF_0r8/видео.html
Wagakki Band (2012) Folk-Metal fusion band, all jedi-level musicians, half of them play traditional Japanese instruments and the other half play standard metal instruments. They announced in Jan. 2024 that they will go inactive at the end of the year. This song was originally written for a virtual (AI) singer, referred to as a Vocaloid:
ruclips.net/video/Q2meWkWqc-I/видео.html
Yōsei Teikoku (1997) Rock-Folk-Metal-Electronica fusion ensemble. Set in a fictional Fairy Empire, led by founder Yui, they have done a lot of anime themes and sound-tracks and also perform original songs live, in character.
ruclips.net/video/_EeYxtAeaX4/видео.html
There are many more.
Also: MISA! MISA! MISA!
One earpiece?? Seriously…
The other one is broken……
YES! They are that good! Band Maid doing whatever they want and killing it!!!!!
(from their own Anime MV (series?)): ruclips.net/video/7LB_EPS48HE/видео.html)
And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.

Band-Maid Rules! 😊
welcome to Progressive hard rock band .
Welcome to the land of the Maidiac, where we celebrate daily the best rock band on earth.
🕊️🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Straight up rock and roll.
Po. I had a long day at work and that is all I have. Po.
@@throwaway9389 I agree.
Check out their live song "Don't you tell me" for another call and response. If you want an epic drum solo try "Freedom" live. Cheers!
Welcome to the world of Band-Maid you won’t be disappointed!
Thanks!🤘
If you want to hear BAND-MAID Rap try 'Influencer'. BAND-MAID do it all! What would you like? Soft Acoustic Ballads? They got 'em!
Thanks for checking out our Maids! But you’ve only scratched the surface.
Check out the music video to “from now on.” It will blow you away!
One of those rare bands that has a lead bassist as well as a lead guitarist.
Welcome to the Maidiacs RIP
Baby Metal is a male band with cheerleaders no comparison
Japan is FULL of all female metal and rock bands. Excellent musicians are everywhere in Japan. Top ones you will get requested are Nemophila, Hanabie and Lovebites. All metal, all vastly different and all world class ass kickers. Thing is their are so many ,ore all female, male or mixed bands in Japan.
Band Maid my greatest journey .
Good reaction!👍Next!Japanese Female Heavy Metal Band 🐺「LOVEBITES」/🎸The hammer of wrath ~live🎸/Stand And Deliver~live🎸/m.d.o.~live🤟 check !🤟
Thank you guys for reacting to our maids. Please also react to Lovebites Soldiers stand solitarily live 2023, Nemophila oiran official live and Hanabie we love sweets. These are all female Japanese metal bands. Greetings from a new subscriber from Romania
Thanks!🤘
Gents put a mark on the calendar to remind you that this was the day you were introduced to 5 stunningly talented Rock Goddesses with more creativity and composition in one song than many bands have in an album. B-M has a glorious back catalogue that drifts over multiple genres, like Frank Zappa they are musically fearless they will also steal your heart as you get to know them at the same time as they set fire to the stage. What a fcken band Po 👍🍻
Hell yeah. There are few dates I remember but December 17th was mine Po.
🤘🤘🤘
R I P , Welcome to BAND-MAID , Enjoy your journey down the Pigeon hole , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin , BAND-MAID is there own genre , next song Domination official live video .

Check out the Shambles MV by Band Maid. 👍
😁🥰
👍👍👍😄🤟
Welcome to band-maid!
PS, how about Blooming or Domination or Bubble is the next song? I hope you`ll enjoy it!
Their genre is band-maid.
Maybe you can`t pin it down to one genre.
Their music runs through their blood, so it can`t be called metal.
Sargent Schultz - I know nothing, I am not here - I did not even get up this morning!
*_BabyMetal_* sing and dance with a band, *_Band Maid_* IS the band...
Fair enough!🤘
My favorite band. It's not close. The live version of "Domination" is many peoples entry point for The Maids.
It’s on the list!🤘
Check out Lovebites "We Are the Resurrection" official live! 🤘🏼
They’re on the list! Stay tuned!🤘
Okay. Japanese all women / women fronted metal / rock / punk rabbit hole it is then!

Their genre is BAND-MAID.
“An impossibly hard rocking maid band.”
#Rise
If you want incredible talented Drummer.
They're Japonese to
Baby Metal is a song and dance trio with a backing band. Nothing like Band-Maid.
If you don't like Bass solos you won't like Band-Maid.
We’ll give it a spin!🤘
🤘🏻🇯🇵🔥
M&M💜💚🔥🍺👌🥴
There are oodles of Metal bands in Japan, including many, many all female bands. Please don’t compare them all to BABYMETAL. There is only one BABYMETAL, and they are an Idol group, not a Metal band.
And don’t wait for somebody to tell you about great bands you should listen to. Unearth them yourselves.
Well there are a lot of similar metal idol groups like Babymetal. It has become a subgenre on its own. Passcode or Broken by the Scream for example (the difference is that these 2 include gutural vocalists).
Starts off hot. ✔ Shread✔ Rap? Not this song, you'll have to check out "influencer (Official Music Video)"
Band-Maid obviously has some of the best female musicians in the world 🌎, definitely check out Bamd-Maid From Now on music video
Definitely would like to see yall react to Babymetal - Rondo of Nightmare with mischiefs of God intro budokan live (best display of the kami band, and its dark and eire, and Su kills it on the vocals especially towards the end).
We have already reacted to it! Check it out on our channel
oh those cute little MAIDS - they will kick your ass sideways ! japanese girl groups are ruling the rock and metal world and have been for the last 10 - 15 years. BAND MAID - top of the rock pile. 11 years of songs to check out. for the best metal band LOVEBITES takes the prize. don't pass up the official mv for their live performance of 'holy war'. melting faces around the world : ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.html
Lots and lots for LOVEBITES so they’re on the list, stay tuned!🤘
