I keep postponing this job on my Chrysler neon 2005, 2.0L, Automatic. I doubt if my head will not be that bad cause the car is fine except the slight oil leak underneath. Do you also recommend is take my engine head to the local engineers as well? Lovely video gents, but i wish you could have shown the full/complete timing procedure as well and torque specs for engine mounts and pulley.

What type of oil did you put on the threads? Engine oil?

For torque si it 25ftlbs, then 50ftlbs, and again 50ftlbs?

No high tack on the gasket? Thought it said it in the manual to apply hi tack to the head gasket prior to install

    You mentioned 25, then 50 & 35ft/lbs, didn't mention 3rd sequence, then 90*.
Also, you didn't mention the timing process.
Those bits would help as I am about to remove my head as well. Thanks.

Is there a way I can hold timing in place at top dead center and not have to remove the belt(just slip it off from the cam? When replacing the head gasket?
Also if it’s just an oil leak can I tighten the head bolts just a little bit to see if that reduces the oil leak?

Thanks for the video. I also own a 2005 Dodge Neon and may be doing a head gasket in the future.
Is that front bumper from an SRT-4? Looks nice.

We're glad you liked it! The car had the SRT design package, meaning it had slightly different styling on the body sharing some parts with the SRT-4 but it did come from the factory that way, without having the SRT-4 engine. Kind of a weird one.

@@adrianmaciel1323 well. I had the head redone. The valves had bent.
It was caused by the previous owner.
New head and lots of gaskets with a small little pin that connects to the cam gear (and so much much more). It runs.
Drives like a dream. Super fast. Smooth.
