I used t20 to take the screws out. it supposed to have 4 screws. 2 are really long and 2 are short. supposedly T20 and T25 should be used to take these screws out. but I was able to use the T20 and take out all 4 screws for the 2014 Jeep Patriot speakers which are 6X9. Ended up using the Kenwood KFC-6966S Speaker 3-Way Automotive Speakers! these speakers sound awesome with the stock Factory stereo system. the bass is amazing! thanks for giving me the idea of using the speaker harness! it saved me some time.
Zachary Cassady it’s a rocky road outfitters. You can find it if you search that name and I had it professionally installed bc it’s a really difficult install
Kewl video John! I have a 2017 Jeep Patriot High Altitude. I was wondering if I'll have to remove the complete door panels or only the speaker covers to switch all 4 speakers?
Carlos Rodriguez in my opinion, no you do not need one and they work fine without one. However, it was recommended that i use an amp to get the full power. I decided to not spend the extra money and I’m happy I didn’t because they still sound amazing.
i clicked your amazon link and then did the check if these are compatible with my vehicle thing and it says it does NOT match a jeep patriot 2016 is amazon wrong ?
@@johnbohler4363 ok thank you very much also, great video man, was looking for exactly this, I have never been a car dude but thanks to your video I think I can buy and change out the speakers my self didn't look too hard.
@@johnbohler4363 Ok sweet thanks man, Great video !! I have never been a car guy myself but thanks to your video I feel like I can buy and replace the speakers my self. You made it look easy. Pretty much just take out the door panel, unscrew screws, take out old speaker, Plug up new speaker with the wire harness you linked and screw back in.
Awesome video! I had no idea this was that simple. Also that front bumper guard is bad ass! what kind is it? should do a video on that. Most of the ones i see cover the fog lights.
Yes it is soooo easy! That’s why I made the video to help people out! But I had my front bumper professionally installed. It is a very hard install and way to complicated for me. The name of the website is rockyroadoutfitters.con
@@johnbohler4363 Thanks for the reply ! Two more quick question! What did you do about your front license plate ? And did you get it install by the seller or did you go to a mechanic for it?
Dark Knight Amazon is stupid lol. The fitment system is all screwed up. It says it won’t fit my 2016 Patriot but clearly did. I wouldn’t worry about it
This video will help. Thanks for posting it. Gonna upgrade my factory speakers in my 2014 Patriot this weekend
How'd it go? I have the same model.

Awele Thomas more than likely yes. They’re all really pretty much the same. I have an 11 and it’s the same process
How much speakers you bought 4
Did you need to get an amp?

Did u need 4 speaker harnesses for each speaker?
John dope video, did you not use the mesh cover... I ordered these waiting to put them in my 2014 jeep patriot
And these fit in no problem without having to alter anything?
I'm looking to install the GTO939 in my '16

Garry Lewis just the speaker covers. It’s the same for all 4 speakers
@@johnbohler4363 Awesome! Thanks! :-)

Thanks man! Yes I did

Ranger Up 808 yes amazon is wrong. I have a 16 patriot in the video so doesn’t make much sense if the part didn’t fit

Would these speaker harnesses fit a 2015 patriot?
I don't think so, trying to find 2015 speaker harnesses for myself.
Just looked up those speaker wire harness and they said won't fit my 2014 Jeep patriot...but just saw you put them in your jeep patriot?!
