@EmmanuelTagoe-er9gj i think on the stereo in the video it didn't come with one and the mic was built into the stereo but now for the new ones there is a connector from the stereo wiring harness and they give you a microphone. you can wire it from the stereo through the left side of the dash and go up the A pillar. I attached my new one through the a pillar screw cover and it works great there.

Mine didn’t come with the connection on the power cord it’s just all wired what do I do to get the connector like yours???
It might have been a different model, this one comes with a wiring harness but some of these stereos make you manually connect the wires together

To ensure steering wheel control do you need to take out that 20 amp fuse that you did in the beginning?
the fuse doesn't have anything to do with the steering wheel controls, the reason I took it out was because sometimes when you are removing the radio it can cause that fuse to blow and then you would need to replace it with a new one
I have a 2016 patriot. So once I order the Apple CarPlay radio the panel comes with it?
This stereo doesn’t have carplay natively, for carplay you will buy an additional dongle and then connect it to the stereo via usb
Anyway to buy the old infotainment system from you? I just want to upgrade my stereo from the no screen model to something with a screen just to improve the look. I really like the Teyes model but the person driving the vehicle does not care too much about the tablet features. Thanks in Advance!

I just installed one of these on our patriot. Everything was plug and play but the sound is so muffled... Sounds like everything is in a box. Bluetooth, Android Auto... Doesn't matter just sounds very bad. And i have the stock crappy radio and this sounds worse than that which is a shame.
i got the 8.0 version hooked everthing up when I touch the radio it dose nothing was working at first but got no stations I thought to plug the antenna up worg so I unplug it plug it back in now the radio does nothing everything else works what I'm I doing wrong

yeah so i installed a new aftermarket amp and it works great, the problem in the video was actually just with the settings, i just changed it to my vehicle model and everything worked after that

I got it from a sticker designer i met in a facebook group, I forget her name. i just told her what i wanted and gave her the dimensions of the gear shifter, i’m sure you could get it done online somewhere
If you had Uconnect with the factory headunit... Does the new radio use the factory mic for calls or did you have to use the external mic that came with it?
I don't think the original mic is compatible unless you can find an adapter that works with the stereo

yes it does but you need to buy an adapter for it to work with carplay

Did yours do the same or is mine bugged.
not sure about that, maybe if you hard reset the stereo it will save those settings

I may be wrong but I think that you would have to change a setting on the tablet but it should work once you change it in the amplifier settings

It should! its advertise as 2009-2015, however, it is technically for the compass so there are a few things that arent perfectly proportional but it's really close

What can you say about quality of sound, it pretty same like in standard audio system ?
for sure! I would say its basically exactly the same sound quality or just marginally better. I replaced my door speakers with some better speakers and that was a huge notice in how good it sounds in my car now

its designed to fit flush, it is closer than the original panel but there is enough clearance where there is plenty of room to turn the knobs still

I see in the package 2 USB port connectors. What do u do with them? How can i plug a usb stick to the head unit?
you can plug in usb sticks to download software and stuff and to add things like apple carplay if you get an adapter for it

@@sidimohamed1802 there is an extender that gives you like 3 or 4 feet of length for the usb’s so you can run it to your glove box or somewhere else. it’s not just a plug-in at the back

why did you take out the fuse before doing the job?
Taking the radio out will typically cause the fuse to blow so i usually just take it out so i don’t have to replace it with a new one

Hi. Did you reinsert the fuse from under the hood after? I have basically the same unit. The issue I am having is that the stereo won't turn on after the jeep has been sitting. The only way to start the stereo is if I pop the hood and pull out and reinsert the fuse for the radio. After that the stereo turns on when I start the car. If I turn the car off and on again after that the stereo will turn on and off fine. The issue is when I leave the car alone for an hour or so and try start the car/radio. I then have to pop the hood again and take out/reinsert the fuse before starting the car. I am lost here. Any help would be so helpful. Thanks.
sorry for the late response! did you ever figure anything out? I'd put a brand new fuse in there, I'm not sure why it would be doing that. maybe double check that it's a blue fuse that is 15 amps and not a different color
Does the reverse trigger signal camera comes from the harness or canbus or comes where did you put the trigger wire?

Couple questions bro. 1: do they have an iPhone style stereo with these same dimensions and 2 did you have to order the new cover for the stereo and a/c control and vents because it wouldn’t fit the dimensions of the stereo?
I don’t they they have an iphone style one but you can always just use carplay if you get an adapter. And no they send you a new panel so you just take out the existing AC vents and stuff and put it onto the new panel
Does this unit fit a 2016 patriot? Link says thru 2015 but they made them until 2017

i would suggest trying to give it a full update and make sure that you are on a solid internet connection. not sure what else it would be 🤔
Hey there! I just installed this unit on my 2013 CRV, however, there is no audio coming through, I wonder if I should keep the RCA cables connected or disconnected? I have stock speaker systems, so I wonder if the RCA cable that came with the unit is even needed. Thank you in advance for your help!
I would check your canbus settings, i think there is a setting called car model or something and find your make and model in there. that might fix it. I dont think you will need those rcas unless you have an amplifier
Does the gps work, without wifi?
you can download maps and use offline GPS but otherwise you would need some kind of connection
I just ordered this. I saw something about rewiring for battery drain. Is this not plug and play or was it just an issue you had?
I had that issue but I also had a bad battery I later realized so that may have been the reason. I have not heard of too many people that have had the issue. I believe the company upgraded the spro model so that may have solved the issue

I dont think you can play audio from the stereo to an external Bluetooth audio but im not for sure. And yes the backup camera should be plug and play if your backup camera has AV cables

this video towards the end should show you how to choose your car model, that would be the only setting that would allow you to get your ac controls to show up

Okay, so I installed it yesterday, everything works except it won't go to tge google play store. It says its connected to WiFi. Did you have to run an update? I've tried connecting to mobile Hotspot and to my houses Wi-Fi still won't let me on Google play store.

you might have blown your radio fuse when you took your original radio out, i have a video on that if you check back on my channel
@@gracefulstable *sigh*. I took out the fuse to avoid this very reason. I just checked again and the fuse is intact so it cant be that.

@@pogiman2 shoot sorry bro I just saw this, dang man Idk if its not the fuse, I would check that the fuse on the radio and the fuse in your cars relays location are both fine and ensure that everything is on super tight. The connections from the car to the radio can sometimes be finicky. Did you ever get it working?

I would think so if your panel is the same as mine!
With “panel” you mean the plastic holding the screen?

How did you fix The audio volume issue?
I forget what the setting is called, maybe "car model" or something, but I searched for jeep compass and set that as my car model and that tells the modbus controller how to interpret the signals and after that the audio worked fine

Hey man i got one of these and was hoping to wire up the reverse camera. It came with the long wire with the yellow RCA inputs on each end but there is also a thin wire running along with them. Almost like a remote wire but where does it hook up to? Any idea?
yeah so the red wire will be hooked up to your backup light of your taillights. once you connect those two wires together anytime that backup light gets power it tells the camera to turn on. the yellow rcas are just for the video feed to your HU

So I understand I need to run the one red wire to the taillight but it's also on the other end that goes into the head unit, so where does that red wire hook up to? Is there a wire in the pigtail for the stereo it hooks up to or??? In other words both ends of the cable have a yellow RCA and and the short red wire.

there is a setting called car model and you have to find your make and model in order to get the steering wheel controls. Mine is XP -> Jeep -> Jeep Compass

Hey I can only get sound when in radio mode and Bluetooth. My maps or any other apps like RUclips and spotify I don't get sound but the videos are playing. Any suggestions?
weird, not sure off the top of my head. I would double check that your canbus settings are accurate. There is an option called car model or something similar in your settings that gives you a ton of makes and models to choose from. Try to find your car in the list, that might fix it

What size fits best for a jeep patriot sport 2016
the screens should all be the same size. I'm pretty sure they have different memory variations and thats the only difference

you plug the adapter into one of the factory radio cable (i think it’s white) and the other end plugs into the new head unit

@@Chellz727 newer models have the additional accessories included and don’t have the fan functionality. the extra usb’s are just for charging devices

@@pogiman2 I feel that, but yeah I can but honestly I haven't been super impressed by it. Since I have an android phone and the tablet is already android it makes more sense for me to use maps and spotify on my tablet instead of AA. I will try to make a video tho 👌
Where did you get the decal for the shifter knob?
I found someone in a Facebook group who I gave the measurements to and she made it. I'm sure you could find a place online to make the sticker for you

Does it work with an Iphone or specifically Android only?
the only interaction the stereo has with a phone is through Bluetooth or with a mobile hotspot so it works with any phone that has those capabilities. Also if you get the Carplay/Android Auto adapter it will be able to run both softwares depending on the device

idk if all of the speakers would be powered because I'm sure they are hooked up on a factory amp but you might need an adapter to connect the factory amp to this head unit

yep! plug and play. it came with all the necessary harnesses. I had never done any car stuff before and it only took me about 20 minutes to get everything working

yeah to fix that i cut one of the wires for constant power and connected it to the cigarette lighter so it only turns on when the car is on

as always test everything before you cut ideally and check the levels with a multimeter to be safe

if you remove the radio it will blow the fuse most of the time

Off the top of my head I don't remember what year that they changed the design of the center console but if your center console looks like the one in the video than it should fit!

Now i read one of the comments where someone was having issues of their battery getting drain, and saw your response. That yellow wire to cut off and install it on the lighter port for the 12v so it would shut off automatically is that something i would have to do to avoid having the same issue. Sorry for the questions im new to this lol.

you screw it in to the left hand side of the stereo and then u just place the receiver anywhere behind your stereo
