I'm glad the Lord of the Rings GameCube titles are finally getting their recognition. They were wonderful titles to play back then and very addicting because of the action, leveling up, and cinematic quality.

Also, here's a fun fact: Charles Martinet, the former voice of Mario, provided voice work for EA's Lord of the Rings games, notably voicing Eaoden in The Third Age.

It is rare to see a series or IP that has had many a handful of titles during the 6th generation, and to have some good to great qualities in each individual title. I have never experienced any of these but they sure look fun and entertaining, especially the Hobbit. Might not be the most ideal but a Friday night with pizza and brews sounds like it'll be a good time. Great work again man!

I'll have to get Two towers sooner than later, It was my favorite film of the trilogy. I wish the GC got the crime movie games like Scarface, Godfather and even Sopranos like the PS2 Xbox, and Wii did instead of neglecting the GC. Great video as always!

PS: You're the first american (I suppose) I see named Marcelo (You and I have the same name, but I'm from Brazil and it's a pretty commom name here, especially with people among my age - 40ish.).
Some years ago, a local retro seller offered me The Third Age for GameCube, CIB, at a ridiculously low price. I think I paid less than 10 bucks for it. Now it sells for roughly 3x its original price (I don't know about the PS2/Xbox prices, though). Oh, and kudos to you for calling Rings Of Power for what it really is: abysmal.

LOTR was such a cool franchise when we were growing up. I loved the movies and they are still fun to watch. Haven't played any of the games besides Middle Earth II on the 360 so I'm excited to see how these look. I have the LOTR The Fellowship of the Rings that you mention on the Xbox, and I'm surprised it never came to the GameCube but that's really cool that there's portions of both films in The Two Towers to make up for it. The gameplay looks great. The Hobbit is one I'd like to play through soon. It looks fun and whimsical like you said. That's super cool that the Third Age is a brand new story. The franchise really was at its peak back then, and glad we grew up with its popularity. Yeah, I heard The Fellowship of the Ring game is very slow-paced and kind of just “average” at best. Thankfully, Two Towers is from a developer that nailed the films! The Hobbit is surprisingly solid for what it is, and I was enjoying my time so far with it! I played The Two Towers on my gamecube as a teenager but by the time Return of the King came out I had an Xbox and got it on that. Loved both games. Great hack and slash games and really great movie tie ins. Wish we still got awesome LOTR games these days instead of stuff like Gollum. I would like to play the Hobbit since that story is special to me. As a little kid I watched my dads VHS of The 70's Hobbit Cartoon before I even knew what LOTR was.

I always felt like the characters you chose were almost like choosing a difficulty; Legolas is easy, Aragorn is medium, and Gimli being hard. I could be wrong, that was just my impression though. As a Gimli fan I always felt like I got the short end of the stick compared to my friends... pun intended lol

Had no idea the thirs age was turn based. Makes me wonder what could have been if it was released later on or if they could do a follow up since they seem to be done with the shadow of mordor and gollum. Might be a decent place to revisit for lotr games.
This is a cool List of the Lord of the Rings Game. I got a sad story and I don't know if is a game breaking glitch, but somehow if I changed my disc on the 2nd one of the The Third Age on my Gamecube, 2nd Disc didn't do the change and it was in the end of disc 1. I thought this version is maybe broken, so afterward I bought another copy of the game and I still don't know if is the version I bought or the modchip of my GC did the issue or the Disc Lens, which I don't think this is the issue, cos it would read the other gamecube games also terribly. @@GameCubeGalaxy I love the gamecube and it's to me underated also with their multiports games. And yeah it's kinda sad, I never finished the third age, cos I like the game and the difficulty it has. Also you can play good and evil which is pretty cool, including the coop gaming on this game :D

@@GameCubeGalaxy For real I also enjoyed def jam fight for ny on gamecube even if the performance is sometimes sluggish and the game didn't got all tracks like ps2/xbox version. In some cases gamecube was pretty close to og xbox🤔

I played The Hobbit, The Two Towers and The Third Age extensively as a kid. They were all excellent games and the game for The Hobbit actually gave me some strong expectations for how the Hobbit movies would end up as. Needless to say I was disappointed but not nearly as much as I was with The Rings of Power!

I've only played the movie games, not Hobbit or Third Age. Return of the King co-op was a blast, especially on Viddy Plays, though one or two of the levels did kinda get too hard.

I played the Hobbit a couple of times(PS2 version) in the last few years, my first playthrough ended after running to a game breaking glitch. After the boss at the graveyard in Merkwood forest my save file became corrupted, i was stuck unable to save or reenter if i exited out of the save. I was so pissed and dropped the game for about a year, i figured out if you have 2 files running and overright each as you go it bypasses the glitch, i was able to beat it my 2nd playthrough. The platforming and combat at times can be infuriating but when its good its really good and you get in the swing of things. Now the biggest issue was some puzzles, if it werent for online playthroughs i couldnt get passed a few, otherwise i loved the look and feel and its worth the experience dispite some drawbacks.
I've played all these games but on PS2 loved all of them. Love the Hobbit Game had it as a kid my uncle had The Third Age fantastic RPG and.. Fellowship😅 played Towers and Return during the Pandamic Fantastic games. Me personally I prefer Towers over Returns not sure why... my guess cuz it has Fellowship Levels as well as Towers. I'd recommend all of theses games even Fellowship Game Especially if u looove the book 📖

I really do want to play these games at some point I do have all of them on a Nintendont emulator that I have for the wii And I have done them as roms These are considered fantastic games on the game cube And these are must play for tolken fans And for fans of the books and The amazing peter jackson movies 😅😊😂.

Honestly, the show is just very poorly written, the acting is cringe at times, and just isn’t good at all. A majority of the viewers seem to really dislike it too based on the 37% audience rating, hence why I’m surprised there’s a 2nd season releasing lol.

This is a cool List of the Lord of the Rings Game. I got a sad story and I don't know if is a game breaking glitch, but somehow if I changed my disc on the 2nd one of the The Third Age on my Gamecube, 2nd Disc didn't do the change and it was in the end of disc 1. I thought this version is maybe broken, so afterward I bought another copy of the game and I still don't know if is the version I bought or the modchip of my GC did the issue or the Disc Lens, which I don't think this is the issue, cos it would read the other gamecube games also terribly.

@@GameCubeGalaxy I love the gamecube and it's to me underated also with their multiports games. And yeah it's kinda sad, I never finished the third age, cos I like the game and the difficulty it has. Also you can play good and evil which is pretty cool, including the coop gaming on this game :D
@@FarmerSlideJoeBob glad you’re also a fan of the GameCube! The multiplats don’t get enough credit, as many performed better here than on PS2. I do like the idea of choosing to play good and evil in the Third Age, as it adds replay value for sure 👍
@@GameCubeGalaxy For real I also enjoyed def jam fight for ny on gamecube even if the performance is sometimes sluggish and the game didn't got all tracks like ps2/xbox version. In some cases gamecube was pretty close to og xbox🤔
@@FarmerSlideJoeBob Def Jam Fight for NY is one I need to still play. I LOVED Def Jam Vendetta, and sadly never got around to playing the sequel. Need to fix that soon lol.
I played The Hobbit, The Two Towers and The Third Age extensively as a kid. They were all excellent games and the game for The Hobbit actually gave me some strong expectations for how the Hobbit movies would end up as. Needless to say I was disappointed but not nearly as much as I was with The Rings of Power!

I've only played the movie games, not Hobbit or Third Age. Return of the King co-op was a blast, especially on Viddy Plays, though one or two of the levels did kinda get too hard.

I loved The Hobbit one, but it needed a feature to revisit earlier levels. It's pointless to keep the save file, and it takes up a lot of space too!

I have two towers and return of the king. Both very fun hack n slash games. Thought about getting the third age but not really a fan of turn based combat

I played the Hobbit a couple of times(PS2 version) in the last few years, my first playthrough ended after running to a game breaking glitch.
After the boss at the graveyard in Merkwood forest my save file became corrupted, i was stuck unable to save or reenter if i exited out of the save.
I was so pissed and dropped the game for about a year, i figured out if you have 2 files running and overright each as you go it bypasses the glitch, i was able to beat it my 2nd playthrough.
The platforming and combat at times can be infuriating but when its good its really good and you get in the swing of things.
Now the biggest issue was some puzzles, if it werent for online playthroughs i couldnt get passed a few, otherwise i loved the look and feel and its worth the experience dispite some drawbacks.

I've played all these games but on PS2 loved all of them. Love the Hobbit Game had it as a kid my uncle had The Third Age fantastic RPG and.. Fellowship😅 played Towers and Return during the Pandamic Fantastic games. Me personally I prefer Towers over Returns not sure why... my guess cuz it has Fellowship Levels as well as Towers. I'd recommend all of theses games even Fellowship Game Especially if u looove the book 📖

I really do want to play these games at some point I do have all of them on a Nintendont emulator that I have for the wii And I have done them as roms These are considered fantastic games on the game cube And these are must play for tolken fans And for fans of the books and The amazing peter jackson movies 😅😊😂.

What is the main reason you call rings of power Abysmal And are you looking forward to season two or do you think it's going to be even worse than the first season.
Honestly, the show is just very poorly written, the acting is cringe at times, and just isn’t good at all. A majority of the viewers seem to really dislike it too based on the 37% audience rating, hence why I’m surprised there’s a 2nd season releasing lol.
