New Monstercat Template + Tutorial

Unfortunately this template requires a hefty amount of stuff, I couldn't find away around most of these things, espicially Trapcode Soundkeys which is incredibly important to create something like this. Search up how to download them here on youtube. Here are the requirements:
Requires Adobe After Effects CC 2014 - (Important)
- After Effects CC 2015 causes an error when clicking Apply in Soundkeys!!
Requires Trapcode Soundkeys for Visualizer - (Important)
Requires Trapcode Particular for Particles - (Optional)
Fonts used are Gotham Bold and Gotham Regular, please download them beforehand.

I love this visualizer so much! I made a mix that i want to visualize but i can't seem to get the bars over 10 minutes. It's all black after that. My mix is 1 h so it doesn't work. Any fix for it? Thanks
+Luddest You'll need to change all the compositions' settings so that are over 10 minutes in duration. Do this by right clicking the composition name and clicking composition settings, then make sure all the layers go for that new duration.
I already bought After Effects CC 2015 (Since we needed it for our school project) and I just found out this requires the 2014 edition D:
the stars are not exactly accurate, take a look at my monstercat tutorial video. i bumped up the amount of stars and made the resistance to 0.03 , hope it helped u!

Yes you can add every color you want.

Works Well.... But I noticed that if the song is longer than 2-3 min the visualizer disappears.

:/ change the duration of that layer, it isn't so hard to do.

The sensitivity is still too high, compare the beginning to NMSNL's version and you'll be able to clearly spot the differecne.

how do you make the particles react to bass? ps. I can't opet the file since I have newer version of AE
They shout react on their own. The more powerful the bass, the more noticeable the movement.
You might wanna activate the Particle Soundkeys.

Do the bars disappear completely, or disappear in like a flashing way?
If they are disappearing completely, have you checked that you have added the song in the 'Bars' composition?
If they are flashing-disappearing, just 're-apply' the bars in that area, then you are all good

cc 2015 has problems i haven't tried cc 2017 yet but i suggest it fixes it
Make sure the soundkey layers are set to the correct audio layer. If the particles are reacting to the song correctly then the issue is most likely the audio layer. If the selection is on the correct layer, hold down ctrl and drag the playhead around to confirm that music is playing.

How can I edit the Particles in the background. (As in the layer that contains the Partacular effect)
Also, How can I find the individual bars.
+NextLevelMusic I've hidden most of the layers with the shy button. If you look at 1:00 and onwards you can see a highlighted button above the layers but below the composition names. Press this and hidden layers will appear.
+Hazzmat Any Way I can contact you? I have this really weird "bug" where my sound key layers have a like a line at the beginning where the layers are displayed.

Whenever I hit apply the Visualizer just flat-lines. It isn't responding to Audio, even though I followed the appropriate steps.
+DarkShard Make sure you drag in your song ontop of the layer called SONG in each composition (make sure you hold ALT like shown).
If it continues to fail: Drag in your song as a new layer, then click on one of the orange layers (the ones which you must click apply on), above the apply button is a thing called Audio Layer (the first setting). Set this to your new song, then click Apply, you'll have to do this for every layer. So I do recommend you first make sure you correctly inserted the song by holding ALT.
i have a newer version of the trapcode suite and the audio bars arent working :/

yeah i made the same mistake and was very mad and out of ideas, when suddenly in the back of my mind something told me i have to downgrade to 2014 and i downgraded, after that, it was amazingly perfectly working!

lol i didn't think you would reply but i thing when you get adobe after effects it downloads Creative Cloud. If it didn't, download it. when you open it and there is an apps tab at the top. click on it. it will have after effects 2015. press previous versions. press on it. and press install on after effects 2014. hope this helped you!
btw you will still have 2015 installed on your computer.

Does anyone know how to fix the issue with disappearing bars? I render out a project, but every time, some groups of bars disappear, but then come back. Its gets really annoying (Its more like 'flickering' instead of disappearing)
Me too, but i fixed it, redownload project,do exactly like the tutorial, but, at the "bars" composition,apply each bar with the song one at a time,slowly, careful.
Yeah, its a random occurence in Soundkeys. Happened to me a lot aswell.
+Hazzmat i found out that if you find out what set of bars are flickering, you 're-apply' it and 9/10 times it will fix it

It's very unfortunate for me to apply keyframes on every bar of the visualizer because it takes so much time with my terrible specs, I was hoping it would be much easier and expected to be less manual configuration

Yeah, it's really frustrating to click "apply" on all bars. I have a rather high end PC and it takes around 15 seconds to one bar...
Anyone have the render settings for me? It's set to 60fps but is not smooth.

How can I open this download?
If I want to make my visualizer longer then 10 minutes, the effects wil stop (particles, backround and the bars). How do i make them last longer? I don't have this problem with the text and the logo.
Go in the composition settings and change the time. do this on all the compositions and then stretch everything to fit.

You can get a bg of choice then import it onto the template then simply drag it on the "Overall" composition.

+Jonah Yardley If you open that .rar with winRAR or 7zip and export the files out, you'll see the .aep you need to open. .rar is somewhat like a folder that you can send online.

if you want a custom video, just drag and drop the video into the project and put it to the bottom layer - be sure to remove the current background else your video will be behind it

+Houchdj You can export a single frame by going to composition (at the top) -> save frame as. You can then drag that into Photoshop and edit it as you please. Or you can be lazy like me and just use the exported frame :P

the Monstercat layout doesn't use a start and end frequency, it's the frequencies of the soundkeys output

+D3AD_B3AT Run it through handbrake, it makes the file much smaller. If youre looking to decrease render times, try Adobe Media Encoder.

thx, but this takes hours to render. Any way to make it faster?
Taking the Res Down Makes it go faster and removing the particles makes the rendering time go down to 30 min
I removed the stars and fog and lowered resolution but after 30 minutes, it said 48 hours
