For those of you wondering... Tao is 99.99 and Sound Keys is 199.99
I literally just created an almost identical audio reacting sphere over the course of a few days last week and NOW youtube suggests one video that would have probably saved me a ton of time.
The effect looks great but I understand from the comments below, that a trapcode plugin is needed and this should have been clearly stated at the beginning of the video. Thanks for teaching but next time please explain all elements needed first
next time, mention that people has to BUY the plugins needed to do this

MiniBassBooster Legit all you have to do is look up trap code cracked and you’ll find it that’s what I did and I still have it and it has everything. Made some epic spectrums with it

FYI, if you're using a newer version of TAO, "smooth" step is now under "shader" and not rendering.

At least mention in the description that you're using trapcode, I spent 30 mins on looking how can I get sound keys.. turns out it is a 400 dollar program.

Hello ! Nice concept💡 but I’m having some problems. Using CC 2015, followed your tutorial and all the details, have failed and start from scratch 3 times, noticing at 9:00 of the video, after you pressed apply, your value of “Output 1” changed, but mine didn’t. I think this leads to the reason why my sphere doesn’t interact with the track at all.
Maybe you missed something ? Or something wrong with my part ? Hope you still care your 3 years old video lol

Hey Shaped Studios, don't you have to pre render each comp and reach the final comp. Else if you encode in media encoder they comps will be rendered separately. Please correct me if I am wrong.
No just pre-comp all of the compositions into one and render it out;)

Nice, you got a new subscriber but I highly recommend you to put onscreen the keys you are pressing so people that doesn't know very well can follow you with the shortcuts. Anyway good job :)

Wish I could make it but trapcode plugins won't install for me. Its always saying an error prevented the install from completing the installation log has been written to the red giant logs directory in programdata

I am getting a big problem in making it liquid , i make it just like you or even adusted it myself . I made the sphere but when the beat cames it dont look like liquid it looks like a broken glass inside . Can you tell me how to fix it

Just make the composition longer and that should be it;)
How is your preview in After effects so fluid? Mine is really lagging but especially with the sphere?

so i have do same everything just like you made on your intro, but when i put it on AME, and render it, i only see a blank white result..

How do we map two separate Sound Key Outputs (Range) to effect the Amplitude without having to scale up the 1st Range.. For instance, have the lows, "dun dun dun" (Orange) effect it heavily and then SOME highs, "ting ting ting" (Blue) effect it slightly? I tried to duplicate the Amplitude and the TAO and map it to Range 2 but guess what, CRASH... Lol... Help!

Probably something with the graphics card your having in your computer, try updating your card drivers!

I'm having the same issue as a few of the other guys on here. I'm running CC 2015. The amplitude seems to stay at 0.0 no matter what you do. The ball doesn't react, but if I turn the visibility on for the Sound Key layer, the bars still move. If someone figures this out, please let me know.
+Mettleh3ad Yeah I know, I think it probably have something to do with your after effects version not 100% compatible with the sound keys version, probably some update needed. I would recommend to contact trapcode support for the issue:)
Just a quick update. I updated after effects CC 2015 to the 13.7.1 version and still having the issue. I reinstalled cc 2014, reinstalled sound keys and still no fix. I'm not sure what the issue is but its getting about fucking annoying.
There seems to be some kind of problem with Sound Keys for a lot of people, try another download of the plugin or consider contacting Trapcode support;)
It's all good, im over it now lol. There are plenty of other effects in the sea and I think we both know I can't do that;) It does look really cool though, you did a good job with it

Hello, can anyone help me (at 8:17)? When I adjust the amplitude of the Tao Plug-in, the Sphere disappears. This means, as soon as the amplitude value is bigger than 0, there is no sphere visual. I have reworked the whole project several times and reinstalled the full versions of the plug-ins. I would like to complete the project because the look is pretty damn amazing. Thanks for the tutorial anyway! :)
